2 cards for Crafter's Cafe DT - Beach Bear by

For this challenge #196  at the Crafter's Cafe I created 2 cards.  The theme is  All Creatures Great and Small - this Pearl - Beach Bear certainly fits - and is adorable, as well.  The set, from Wink Wink Ink,  comes with a black and white drawing to color, and a pre-colored image as well.  Since I could not decide which to use - I made 2 cards.

Hand colored image

Coloring with chalk pencils; sea shore papers by Debbie Mumm; Washi Tape; Spellbinder dies.

This Wink, Wink, Ink image, Pearl - Beach Bear, is pre-colored.  I used Debbie Mumm papers that reminded me of a beach scene, and tied it together with a bit of twine.

TeaPot Party for Miles

Miles is a 3 year old twin who likes super heroes and is in need of some encouragement.  THis pre-colored digi by Dearie Dolls is perfect!  The Washi tape is really a pretty bright yellow and white.  I added a Cuttlebug sentiment.

For a prayer Partner

Friends at church often ask me to make personalized cards for their pre-school prayer partners.  I am glad to do this, but for this round I am having to use some short cuts!  This is a pre-colored digi from Dearie Dolls.  I used the computer for the sentiments.

SCS Falliday Fest - Felted paper

All of the challenges are posted for the special Falliday Fest at SplitCoastStampers, and I am in catch up mode - we have until Oct. 31 to complete our projects.  This one is to create felted paper, using a paper napkin.  Briefly, you use one layer of a napkin.  Make a sandwich - napkin, plastic wrap, cardstock.  Use newsprint top and bottom for padding.  (I used regular newspaper with copy paper next to the napkin.)  Iron at the hot setting - no steam - until the napkin and plastic wrap are fused to the cs.  I used this napkin to have another card to send to Bright-Star Center- for kids who are grieving for parents who have been killed.
Supplies:    napkin, sequins, Recollections dp; button EF..

SCS Falliday Fest cards for Kids by Edna15

This is for another SplitCoastStampers Falliday Fest challenge.  We are to use stars on a card for a young person, and the cards may be sent to  Bright Star Center .  They are destined for grieving youngsters - with the stars representing the person for whom they are grieving.  I had not heard of this organization, but it is definitely worth while.  I am quite lacking in materials for children, so had to dig deep!
Star DP by Recollections; Cuttlebug dry embossing; Elizabeth sentiment die; Provo Craft animal dies.

For pre-school prayer partner

One of my friends at church asked me to make Easter cards for her pre-school prayer partners.  I find myself struggling a bit with pre-school style, but I think this Dearie Doll (pre-colored digi) image and my computer sentiment will combine a little girl feel with a religious theme.  I  googled children's Easter message and found a good prayer to use as an inside verse.  My computer does not seem to like purple - the dp and Washi tape are purple.
Here is the prayer I found - suitable for a young child:
 My Easter Prayer

God made you and God made me,
He made the world for us to see.
God loves you and long ago
He sent His Son to tell us so.

Jesus showed us many things,
To love and share, dance and sing.
To learn and pray, to help and care,
He promised he'd always be there.

He died but then came back to life,
Let's celebrate for He's alive!
Amen

Stitched doggie

I don't sew, but I added some faux stitching to this image (sorry - I did not record the source).  I used the stitches to highlight the patchwork.  If you-  are looking at the sketch - I do have a panel under the oval image.  I used a piece that I have been saving for a long time.  It is beige, and looks a little like the mesh bags used for produce - maybe you can see the little knots.  These items add interest and texture without hiding the DP pattern - and do not make it look too busy.  The strip is Washi tape - as usual, I mounted it on cs - burgundy, this time.  The image is precolored - the blue is inspired by the Classy Cards inspiration.  I fussy cut the ears before using the oval die, and added a stack of punched bones.

to Maddison from Barb

A friend from church asked me to make valentines for her pre-school prayer partners.  I soon realized I have enough paper to run my own store, but almost nothing for kids, and especially not for Valentines.  (My stuff tends to be for more mature recipients LOL!)  At any rate, I hope these elements work together to make something cute for these little ones.  I used a pre colored Dearie Doll digi, but changed the hair color.  The DP is Paper Studio; the dies are Spellbinder - including one from the Banner Basics set which is new to me.  The letters are die cuts, and the sentiment from my computer.  I highlighted the cute gal's shoes with a metallic pen.

Harry again

It is handy to print more than one copy of digis at a time - since I am mailing the previous card right away, I thought I would use this image (Pink Gem) one more time.  The bg dp is from an animal print collection - this section is just not animal related!  The buttons made a good scan impossible - sorry.

Quick child's card

A couple of years ago I received a huge box of goodies - including a pack of bright colored papers, stickers, die cuts, etc.  I seldom use them - but since it is my nature to find a use for everything - I thought I could create a celebration card for a child.  The red layer includes the embossed word "celebrate" The sentiment is from Unity.  .The fun look is completed with red tear drops from Classy Cards.

Bright & Bold Tilda

This is pretty bright and bold for Tilda...!  I have quite a few Tilda and similar images from members of Wish RAK at SplitCoastStampers - and I don't use them much - most of my clientele and recipients belong to a more mature group, and our grandkids are older. A friend gave me several coordinating sheets of DP, including this stripe and "blob".   I colored Tilda with Prismas, and added a ribbon and button.

For Jayden - MMTPT327

This card is for two challenges at SplitCoastStampers - I used to be a regular but have been MIA for a while.  I want to go back to honor some past queens, and try to do better to keep up with Teapot Tuesdays.
I want to go back to honor some past queens, and try to do better to keep up with Teapot Tuesdays.
At any rate, this is to honor Queen TrishG. Trish was the long time moderator of the Queen for the day challenge, and recently stepped down from that post. Thank you, Trish, for all the time and effort you contributed.  This is the card I selected from her great gallery:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&ppuser=132695
I liked that splash of color - then, did not attempt the same look! I still have a vehicle, and some woodgrain - not much else.
The TeaPot destination for last week is Jayden, age 6. His mother was seriously injured, and little sister was killed in an accident - troubling issues for a 6 year old. Read more information from SCSer Louse DuMont: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...800564-post430.
The truck image was a gift from a WishRAK member at SplitCoastStampers.  I used the alphabet stamps I have had for years.  I have not used them much lately, and do not recall what they are called - they are the kind that hook together (like Legos) - work well for an informal look.  The buttons are from a die, and I also used a tiny flower punch.

Painterly card

The challenge at A Day for Daisies is to create a card with a "painterly" effect.  I thought I had some paints, but it has been so long since I used them that they are pretty much dried up.  My printer's ink and water colors do not get along - there is much smearing.  But, I did try - just used the aqua brush and stayed well away from the lines - I think I sort of accomplished the effect with very little bleeding.  Maybe some one has some suggestions....
This image is from A Day for Daisies.  The strip is a glittery border from a sheet by Hobby Fun.  I used Coordinations white core to emboss with Cuttlebug's dots and spots - though I did enhance the white by lightly sanding.
