Snow Fun - DT card for Crafter's Cafe challenge #187

This image from Scribbles, Snow Fun, is great for this challenge - any Christmas or using white, red and green.  The challenge is open through Jan 12.   Find details and the entry link here.  The image is available here.  I used a variety of markers for coloring the image - including shiny metallics - and added a computer generated sentiment.  The red snowflakes are punches. The star is enhanced with gold glitter.

Imagine That - 8-10-17 Inspiration

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends

For a few months I have the pleasure of being a guest designer for Imagine That Digistamp.  This cute Jenn is my card for today.    If you visit the blog here you will see the great cards created by the other designers.  And if you visit the store, you will find this set including Jenn and several sentiments, a well as a lot more.  The pixilated dp is available in a set here as well as a part of this bundle.
I colored her with Prismas, backed her with Textile embossing, and added a shiny pink bow.  The oval die is by Spellbinders Majestic Elements.  There is some glitter, and I used shiny paint for her boots and trim on the hat.

On the edge die

I have been waiting to get mail including some new items - so far, nothing.  So I hope these dies will do.  I have used each of them only a couple of times, so they are pretty new to me.  The gem in the center of the flower is from a never used package.  This card is 4.75x6.25 - large enough for members of our church women's group to sign and send to a member who moved away not long ago.
Dies:  On the edge- Pansy Flourishes by Couture (used twice);    Blooms Two by Spellbinders (cut from metallic gold cs); sheer ribbon, Sincere Salutations greeting by Stampin' Up - edged in chalk.

Sparkly Christmas 2016

Cuttlebug Mania
Image - QKR; branch dies - Cheery Lynn; Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, Spellbinder Labels Four die; blue, white cs; glitter; punched star.  I colored by "pulling" ink (printer ink) with an aqua pen - the last one I did looked a bit blue, not sure why this has more of a beige look.  I expected grey! I added a bit of sparkle on the blue border and on the embossing.

Sept. 23 QKR Stampede challenge - embossing with glitter and sparkle

When I saw the theme for this week's challenge (embossing) at QKR Stampede, I thought about this snowflake folder for a wintry card.  QKR has this great digital image, "Snowy Cabin",  as well as the let it snow sentiment.  Since we are in AZ, I could use it to rub it in to some one in snow country.
I did not color the image, but used a lot of glitter on the trees and the snow - on the image and on the embossed snowflakes.
Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder;  glitter, metallic silver strip, Floral Garden Diamond ribbon wrap; glittery snowflake button..  The mats look black here but IRL they are dark blue.  I especially like the crisp look of the white and blue.

New On the Edge Die

I just bought several Couture On the Edge dies - this one is called Verbascum.  I cut the die a second time, using a sage green, and taped the pieces to the back.  This is a bit time consuming and I probably will not use this technique often though I do like the result. There are shiny light blue gems for the flower center.   I used dark blue cs for the main die, and backed it with shimmery champagne cs.  The light blue layer is also a shimmery finish.  The die cut letters are Cuttlebug Olivia, and I added a piece of fiber to separate the panels.

SCS Dare to get Dirty - Scrapawayg3

I always need sympathy cards in my stash, unfortunately.  I prefer fairly simple ones, and this challenge and sketch worked well.  If you look through my blog you will see many cards with lots of white embossed areas - for me, that is a favorite embellishment.

I made another card at the last minute and did not get it posted.  Stamps and sentiment - Eureka digis; Washi tape (this one has several patterns on the same strip); Sizzix embossing folder; unknown DP. This peach with a dark rusty burgundy is one of my favorite combinations.

How old is old?

This is the same sketch as the last card, but a totally different theme!.  I have a lot of friends who really like the humorous cards, so I need to make several.  This uses a Dearie Doll image (http://freedeariedollsdigistamps.blogspot.com/), and sentiment from Ginger's House http://gingershouse.blogspot.com/) - how true that is! Thanks to both artists for your generosity in giving us freebies!  I have had both in my collection for a while, but I think it is the first time I have used them.  The DP comes from a new Lily of the Valley pad that I just received as a prize.  The washi tape, creamy yellow and red cs, and Cuttlebug swirls EF have been around for a while!  I added glitter to make a sparkly duckie.

New stamp for me

My neighbor had a yard sale this morning - she had a box of rubber stamps for sale and of course I could not r4sist - although I did exercise a great deal of restraint!  This Stampington stamp will be great for my granddaughter as well as others.  I colored with Twinkling H2O's, supplemented with a couple of gel pens.  Scraps used:  DP; a piece of doily; cs for the Cheery Lynn butterfly.  I am not sure what the piece is that I layered behind the butterfly.  It is self-adhesive and great for a bit of texture.  I added some glitter to highlight the sentiment.

Happy 50th

Once again, friends have asked for a card for their friends.  They requested a sail boat and palm trees.  I am getting to the end of my supplies in the RV (we go back to our home soon), so I am having to make to a little!  The image is from Digi Darla - with hand written names, per request - the couple and their two daughters.  The sentiment is SU, as is the light house.  I masked a bit of the ocean, and "stamped off" the light house - stamped on another paper, for a lighter effect.  The palm tree dp frame represents their Florida residence.  The ribbon and die cut 50 are glittery - for their golden anniversary.  The card is 5x7.

Shimmery stripes

This is definitely based on the inspiration card at Verve - Julee Tilman created a different take on the sketch and I wanted to try her version.  I started with the CB birthday embossing.  I have lots of neglected Twinkling H20 inks, so I selected an aqua - IRL it adds a nice shimmer.  The mat and butterfly are cut from Stardream Metallic cs (Emerald green) which is available at Classy Cards.  Small clear crystals decorate the Cheery Lynn butterfly.

Happy 25th to Joe and Kathy

Members of our RV park often come to me for special cards, and here is another.  Joe and Kathy will celebrate a 25th anniversary,  Their friends wrote a verse, including a reference to fireworks after 25 years.  I knew I had this fireworks DP in my stash, so I built the card around it. The image is from my digi file.  The flourish is Die-namics. The letters and numbers are from various die sets.  I used Paper Studio glitter cs for the dies and the scalloped circle.  The card is 5.25 x7.25 - to fit a silver envelope I happen to have in the motor home!

Speedy recovery

I did take some liberty with this sketch - just had a hard time figuring out how to put circles together!  Instead, I cut Cheery Lynn butterflies from the reverse side of the DP (Craft n Craftin).  The swirls are Die-namics dies, and the sentiment computer generated.  I tore it and distressed with red chalk.  I also sponged a bit of red on the main image (Stampin Up Sweet of You set.)
