Crafter's Cafe challenge #247 - male

This cutie is a digi called Puppy Love - Heart String from Bugaboo,  There are several male dog lovers in our family so for me it is definitely a masculine card!  I you look closely you might see paw prints on some of the circles!  The hearts are colored with markers, and I used a Spellbinder die for the mat.  I hope you will join us at the current Crafter's Cafe challenge to do a masculine card.  You have until 5 A.M.  EDT July 29 to enter.  You may enter as many as 5 times, but remember - no more than 11 total challenges per card to be eligible for the draw.

2020 - Non-graduation for Evan

Our great nephew (or is it grand nephew?) is a 2020 graduate.  I was able to use paprs and embellishments from my stash.  The Congrats is part of one of the first Cuttlebug die I ever purchased - many years ago!    I used an unknown die to cut the base for the tag.
Congrats to all the graduates who have been experiencing such a difficult time in recent weeks.

More Thinking of you

This is one of the great vintage images offered at TLC - pre colored which is so helpful for my bad eyes!  I used DP from my stash, and added a metal clip with a rhinestone framed with metal.  I even found ribbon with the same fall colors. I used Spellbinder dies for the ovals and the DP layer.  The sentiment is computer generated.

For Luther's family

Once again, I need a sympathy card.  This is for a family whose faith is strong, so I wanted to share a message proclaiming the peace and joy of the certainty of eternal life.  The verse is by Word Art, and I used papers from a stack called Faith.  The oval dies are from Spellbinders.

Snowman with Plaid

This cute snowman is called Snow Posh, by .Creative Bug   one of the sponsors of the cuttent challenge at the Crafter's cafe.  The theme of the challenge is Use Lace and/or Christmas, and it runs for two weeks.  We hope to see you there - check out the prizes, rules and other details here
I used more of the plaid cs to paper piece his hat and scarf.  The sentiment is computer generated.
Sadly, Becy's month of Christmas challenges is drawing to a close -  I did not actually make it to "S", but I had fun trying.  Maybe next year!!

Upcycled birthday card

Recently I have tried to do more upcycling than previously.  I have reached the point where I really must do something about that stack of cards I intend to use some day...!!!  I also need to use my stash of supplies, stamps, etc - if I make 500 cards a month I might make a dent! (Just kidding, of course!  These days, I am lucky to get a dozen or so a month.)   Here I have used a lovely image from a card - one of the few I have suitable for a guy!  I added the stamped sentiment, and used Spellbinders Labels 1 dies for the image, and sticker strips for the edging.

DT Card for the Crafter's Cafe challenge #203 - use 3 of something

The current challenge at the Crafter's Cafe is to use 3 of something.  I have the 3 circles, of course, but if you look carefully I have 3 punched bones in the corners.  This image is calIed Happy dog - and I   think this doggie is happy about that!  The image comes from one of our sponsors, the QKR Stampede.  Check out the Crafter.s Cafe blog for details.  There are some fun prizes to be won.;
Circles - dies by Spellbinder;  Image - Happy Dog by QKR Stampede;  BG- Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder, with splattered Walnut ink from my old stash.  I think this birthday folder is the first embossing folder in my stash!

RubberNecker prize- Roses

I was lucky enough to win several RubberNecker stamps at a recent Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.  This is actually a two step stamp, but I need to practice a bit using that technique - no extra time today!  I did watercolor these lovely summer roses. The sentiment is a library stamp from 7Gypsies.   At least, when we lived in Nebraska, roses certainly meant summer  - not so much here in Arizona!  Also, when I see them, I am reminded of the old song "Red Roses for a Blue Lady".

TeaPot party for Jackson - MMTPT504

I am finally having a bit of time to catch up on some challenges.  This TeaPot party (SplitCoastStampers) is for Jackson.  He is an 8 year old with health issues and other problems - and is in need of some smiles.  I thought this smiley bouquet from QKR stampede would work.  I colored in watercolor pencil - and am not sure why the photo looks so bad!  IRL the pots and flower centers are not at all blotchy!  Oh, well...
The card is finished with Washi tape, some twine, and a sentiment die cut from Cuttlebug.  The DP is Recollections.

DT card for challenge #193 at the Crafter's Cafe: sketch and/or colors

This time the challenge at the Crafter's Cafe offers an option - follow the sketch or use the colors blue, green and yellow - or combine them.  I have opted to use both.  This image, Birthday Crocodile from Lia Stamps, is perfect for the green - colored with water color pencils, Twinkling H2O, and an aqua pen.. I would not have thought of using blue, but I like the combo a lot - and the touches of yellow work well.  This spotty embossing folder, some Washi tape, and a plastic clip are finishing touches.  The sentiment is computer generated.
Stop by the Crafter's Cafe blog to see the inspiration by the DT, and to see details on how to win some great prizes!  You may enter as often as you wish, with unlimited challenges.  The deadline is Friday April 13.

SCS TeaPot Party - Cheer for Aunt Betty

The SplitCoastStamper Tea Pot Party honored "Aunt Betty", a 90 year old who lives alone on a farm.  The winters get to be long, so we are trying to break up the time by sending some cards.  I think these flowers and the lady bug might be found on her farm.  Part of the challenge is "sewing" so I used a faux stitch embossing folder and some metallic gold cord.  The image,"Painting Ladybug", by From the Heart, is a pre-colored digi.  I have several favorite colors, but this coral and yellow combo is high on the list!  The sentiment is a cuttlebug die cut. layered in yellow and red for added dimension..

DT card for Crafter's Cafe Challenge #188 - Lots of Bling

I used Heart Doodle 5 by Scribbles to create this card with lots of bling - the theme for the current challenge at Crafter's Cafe.  We hope you will join us!
I used several different shades of shimmery Twinkling H20's to color the hearts, and a shiny gel pen to highlight the border doodles as well as the sentiment (It is a freebie from Scribbles.)  The pink background is shimmery cs.  I added pink gems and metallic cord for more bling.  Red glitter along the border provides even more bling - but I mostly covered it with the cord!

Flower Pot - GDT card for Scribbles Designs

It is time for more inspiration for the current challenge at Scribbles Designs.  You have until Nov. 14 to submit your entry.  See the details here. We hope to see your entry soon!
For this card, I used the image called Flower Pot, available at the Scribbles store.

I used Prisma colored pencils and some shiny gel pens to color the image.  The DP is from my stash, and the strip at the left is Washi tape.  The flower was a prize from the Netherlands - the label says RMS.
To back the image I used a technique from the current Falliday Fest challenge at SplitCoastStampers.  The technique called for inking up an acrylic block and applying the ink to the cs  for a background.  I opted to use a light touch with the ink for a shadowy effect.  (Hint - for a digi image, I first printed one on scratch paper to determine where the image would print on the cs.  I measured in from the edge of the cs, and then stamped from the acrylic block.  Let it dry, then ran it through the printer.  Voila!  The image printed on top of the bg.  But I am sure you can figure this out  LOL!!)

Another Thinking of You for son-in-law

I scored bit at a yard sale last week end - got lots of fabulous papers, and a lovely Close to my Heart stamp set, including this Thinking of You stamp.  I could have purchased a lot more, but I am trying hard to be reasonable!!!  This is another card for our son-in-law who will be spending the next six weeks at a rehab facility, while he has therapy to recover from a stroke.- learning how to walk again.
This card is entered in the challenges below, but also in the Splitcoaststampers Falliday challenge - HBrown asked us to make examples using fall colors with no white or vanilla.  The leaves are die cuts.

Sympathy for Evelyn

We belatedly learned that a friend of ours had lost her son during the summer.  It seems a bit late to send a sympathy card, so I made this one to let her know we are thinking of her.  I used some DP from my stash, and embossed the mocha piece with my Victoria embossing folder.  The Blessings is from a Cheery Lynn die, and the butterflies are punched.  Even though the loss of a loved one is a sad occasion, Evelyn shares the belief that we have a glorious life to look forward to.  Edited:  I should have added that her son was middle aged.

Imagine That GD card - 9/14/17

This is my inspiration card for this week's Imaginethatdigistamp post.  I used the outline image, sentiment, and pink butterfly paper from this set called Frieda's Flower Basket, which you can see here.  The set includes a pre-colored image, which I used to inspire, though I changed the color.  I fussy cut the butterfly but adhered it to the original spot.  I also cut the sentiment to use in separate locations. The die is Spellbinders Labels 5.   In addition to the included DP, I used a piece from a recent prize -  pad of papers from Zeeman, a Dutch company.  - sponsored by Cuttlebug Mania (Jannie).
