CAS in red, white, blue

I placed a full sized red layer under the top of the card, to cover the back of the embossing, and to show through the punched edge (Fiskars).  Embossing - Cuttlebug stylized flowers; butterfly die - Cheery Lynn; 7Gypsies sentiment, glitter on the tiny flower topped with a gem; blue cs for the mat and the butterfly.

For a Friend

I used my new Hearts embossing folder (Darice) and reds and pinks to make a card for a friend who is hospitalized. (Then I covered most of the hearts!)   The verse comes from Word Art.  I used Washi tape for the strips, and added shiny gems and a sheer pink bow. I used shimmery silver cs for the sentiment and the embossing.

Inside and Out

I had this stamp out and decided to use it again - I do not often use the same image right away!  I also do not often do more than put a verse on the inside of cards - thanks to the challenge, I am stretching a bit!  For the inside I used materials from a kit from Kanban (Lovely in Lace).  It did not reproduce well, but the color is a pale teal to match one of the stripes on the front.
Other supplies:  stamps by Unity; Die-Namics grass die; Doodlebug DP. Pizzazz Aplenty cord, shiny Fiskars metallic pens, glitter to give a sparkly look to the grass.
The grass and cs mat are a dark green not black.

Springtime birthday

I usually color the watering can a silver or grey - I kind of like the yellow!  The image (Our Daily Bread) is colored with a variety of inks, pens and pencils, to get the desired colors - which do not display well on the screen.  The flowers that look shades of lilac are really shades of pink.   Blessings die is by Cheery Lynn.

Tuesday Teapot Party at Splitcoaststampers

I try to do most of the Tuesday Teapot challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  If you make extra cards, you might like to join us - see the link below for more information.  This week, our cheery cards are going to Harry, the husband of a stamper familiar to SCS stampers.  He is to undergo back surgery in a few days - in the meantime, he is experiencing a great deal of pain and his mobility is limited.  Our challenge was to include references to wood working and/or fishing.  My Scripture reference is on the inside of the card.  This image is from a friend - I neglected to note the company.  It is colored in chalk pencil and gel pens, and the edge is chalked.  So the image is for the wood working hobby (looks like he is also prepared to grill LOL!).  The bg paper has many subtle fishing lures - which I pretty much managed to cover with the grass and sky!
Other supplies:  sentiment - Dandelion Designs;  DP - Paper Adventures -Go Fish Driftwood;  grass- DieNamics;  clouds - Cheery Lynn

Favorite ODB - Congratulations, ODB!

The last anniversary challenge at Our Daily Bread is to use a favorite ODB stamp.  I think any one I use is a favorite, but this one certainly qualifies.  I like the versatility - I can stamp it in black or in different colors - can leave it plain or add some color.  And it fits the "square" dies!  It is from the set called Faith, but I paired it with a sentiment from the Happy Birthday set.  I used Swiss Dots and Victoria embossing folders.  In retrospect I find the butterflies a bit too much - no time now, but I think I will look for something smaller and less fussy for those corners.
