Trimming The Tree ...

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a nice relaxing weekend.

I'm here to show you my first Christmas card. It's taken me ages to complete. I wish I wasn't so indecisive. Choosing the papers, embellishments etc has taken forever. There's no way I'm gonna have enough cards by Christmas. I'll just have to save homemade ones for 'special' people.  Looks like it's a trip to WHS for me!

I've used LOTV's Trimming the Tree along with papers from Authentique Paper's Wonder Collection.

They're so cute. They remind me of my three when they were younger.
Here are the Copic colours I've used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11, R30
Red Clothes: R39, R37, R35, R32
Green Clothes: YG91, YG93, YG95
Brown Shorts: E43, E42, E41, E40
Dog: E43, E42, E34, E35

I've embellished the card with a ribbon from my stash and a cute tree charm from Live & Love Cratfs. The flowers are from WOC and Live and Love Crafts.

The image has been cut with a Nestabilities circle die and mounted on their scalloped circle. The holly leaves are part of Memory boxes Holly Vine.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Lilis Little Fairies - Use 3 Dies or Punches
Crafts 4 Eternity - #101 Colour Recipe, Christmas Wishes
PaperPlay Challenges - Week 49 Christmas is coming

Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.

Big Hugs,
Janine x

Never Too Old For a Cupcake ...

Hello blogger friends.

Hope the weather is still lovely where you are. It's been glorious here today.

I have a card  to show you today that I've made for my Sister-in-Law. I picked the papers first and then coloured the image to match.  I initially coloured the image with the greens and yellows swapped the other way around. I just didn't like it. Don't know whether it was having green icing that did it - but it went in the bin. I still wasn't sure when I'd finished it , but it's growing on me. I've never done a green/yellow scheme before so maybe it's a little out of my comfort zone.

Anyway enough of my waffle. Have a look and see what you think...

The papers are One Fine Day by Raspberry Road and the image is 'Never too old for a cupcake' by LOTV. I've coloured this cute image in with copics.

The sentiment stamps are also by LOTV. Recipe sentiments and Circular sentiments - For You. Thought the Birthday Recipe went well with the cupcake.
Just talking about cupcakes is making me hungry. lol.

The edges of the leaves and tag have been distressed with 'peeled paint' ink and the flowers are WOC

We're switching broadband providers soon so if I'm missing it's because I don't have access. As soon as it gets sorted I'll be back and I won't be competing on a slow broadband with 3 teenagers playing games and watching youtube. :-)

Until next time..

Chinese Tilda

Good afternoon bloggers....

Hope the weather is better where you are. It's not stopped raining here since 2pm yesterday!!

I had a great day out last Saturday at the LOTV Open Weekend. I had only intended to buy 4 stamps and possibly some of the new sentiments. Well their cuteness along with the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team's cards got the better of me!! I bought 12 (or was it 13?) stamps and 3 of the new A5 sentiment sheets. Oops! :)

Was also lucky enough to have got a place on Bev's fantastic advanced colouring workshop. Really enjoyed this and hope to put the techniques into practice over the coming weeks.

Enough of my waffle and onto the card.

Today I have a card made using a couple of Magnolia stamps that I've had for a while, but have never seen ink.

I've masked them together to create a mini scene. In doing this the overall image came out quite large so I've kept the layering quite simple.

The image is coloured with copics as usual. Here's a close up.

I've embellished it with some dies, punches,  WOC flowers and a little fan charm I got from Mei Flower

 Card Ingredients

Whispy a Fairy

Good Evening Bloggers...

I hope that you've all had a lovely Easter break. I know that seems ages ago now but I'm only just getting back into a routine. My kids and I went back to school and work on Monday and normality seems to be setting in fast.

I had today off work to take my eldest son to have the wires taken out of his broken wrist. No....I was a big wimp and didn't dare look in case I fainted and embarrassed both myself and him. lol. 2 more weeks in a pot and then it's off for good.

Onto my card for this evening.
It's another of Krista's amazing images. This time it's Whispy a Fairy, she's such a cutie.

I really enjoyed colouring her. I'm still relatively new to copics but was pleased with how she turned out, especially the hair. I really struggle to get hair to look right. I've added some shading with prisma colours but was a bit heavy handed so don't look too closely :)

Here's a close up.

I think she's going to be an image that I'll keep on coming back to.
I've added some stickles to the dragonflies for a bit of bling but it's not really come out well in the photos.

And finally a sideways view.

Good Evening ......

Firstly I'd like to say a big hello to my new followers. Thank you for deciding to follow me and I hope you like what I create.

Today's card is another 50th card. Aaagh...This must mean it's creeping up on me too if I have friends this age.

I've chosen LOTVs Me and My Pony. I've had this stamp for ages but shame on me have never inked it up. I really enjoyed colouring this so I don't think it'll be the last time I use it.

I coloured the large rose myself with copics, white spirit and a spray of perfect pearls mist. I'm quite pleased with the way it's turned out. I'm still experimenting with lots of things because it's all still so new to me.

Here's a close up...

It's definitely too cute not to use again.

I've used the new First Edition papers. They have some lovely designs and  I just couldn't help myself from buying a few of them.....Oops.

Finally a card ..... Emma Shoes

Good Evening ....

No I haven't fallen off the face of the planet..... Just really busy with work and family life.

Sorry I've not posted anything. I just thought you'd prefer to see a card rather than hear my ramblings and excuses over the last week.

This is a card that I've made for a lady at work who will be the BIG 5 0 this weekend. The children at school all love the 'going out' shoes that she wears for work, so this lovely Lili of the Valley stamp seemed so appropriate.

This is such a cute stamp. My sister works in a shoe shop so I think I may use it for her too.

I've coloured the image with copics and used First Edition 'Isabelle' papers. The photos don't really show up the glitter effect very well. They're such pretty papers.

Here's a close-up....

And a jaunty little angle ...

Maddie

Good Evening...

Nearly the weekend....

It's back to work for me next week and I haven't done half the things I wanted to get done. I've been full of a cold the last few days. Why do we always get ill when we're on holiday ??

Today's card is another of Krista's lovely Saturated Canary images. I know it's a rather wintry image and I'm so looking forward to spring, but this is for a friends birthday and she used to be an International ice skater, so it suits her to a tee. Brown and turquoise are her favourite colours too.

I have used this weeks sketch from the Saturday Sketch Challenge (#194) to base my card on.

I have been playing around trying to shade and create the folds of her skirt...a bit more practice needed I think. There are some great videos on youtube. It's fantastic that these very talented ladies take the time to share their skills. It's very much appreciated.

Here's a close up.

And a side view. I have dyed the turquoise flowers myself and am quite pleased with the outcome, although they don't look quite as bright in real life.

Card Ingredients.

Image : Saturated Canary 'Maddie'
Papers : First Edition 'Isobelle'

Coloured with Copics :
Skin : E000, E00, E11, R20
Leg & Arm Warmers : E40, E42, E43 & 70% French Grey Prisma

Hair : E50, E23, E25 & Dark Umber

Tools : EK Success Leaf Punch, Marianne Design LR0152 Doily, Spellbinders Create a flake 1

Sentiment : Lili of the Valley

That's it from me for now.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thanks for popping by and I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
