Divas by Design - Things with Wings...

Good morning blogger friends...

This morning I'm here to show you my very first DT card for Divas by Design
I was asked to join the team a couple of weeks ago and I'm so excited. I'm really enjoying the challenge of being on design teams. It kinda focuses my mind. Otherwise I'd just be looking at everyone else's wonderful cards and Youtube videos.

This week our challenge is Winged Things and we are sponsored by Teri over at Delicious Doodles.
If you've not been to visit the Delicious Doodles site I highly recommend that you do. Teri has a wide variety of digi stamps for all tastes at very reasonable prices.

Another Banner, but more elegant!

For this challenge I chose Fairy Fae. She was a joy to colour.

The card has an overall distressed feel about it. I roughed up the edges of the papers using a Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked them with Walnut stain. The papers are by Raspberry Road and are from their Victorian Bliss & Sweetbriar collections.

Copics Used:

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E21, E11, R11
Hair: E00, E11, E13, E15, E18
Wings: BG70, BG72, C0 didn't like the shade so went over with BG90 & BG93
Eyes: BG90, BG93, BG96
Butterflies: YR00, YR02, YR07, YR09, Y11, Y15, Y17, E33, BG90, BG93, BG96, YG67 plus black jellyroll pen for the dots.

The sentiment is made using a stamp I've had for years. It's by Hampton Art Studio 'Diffusion' range.
The large butterflies are made using the Tim Holtz On the Edge Butterflight die and the small butterflies are an EK success punch. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves were made using a DooHickey Leaf die.

I've added a compilation pic just to show some of the detail.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

The Crafting Cafe #1 - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's  Crafts - Anything Goes
Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes (Gardenias & Cherry Blossom WOC)

I do hope that you can join us this week. I'm looking forward to seeing all the wonderful entries.

Until next time...Happy crafting.

Hugs,
Janine xx

Saturated Canary - Honey

Hi blogging friends. Well it's almost midweek and I really just don't know where the time is going at the moment.

Hope you had a lovely weekend and managed to get lots of crafting done. Unfortunately I didn't manage any. Saturday was all chores and Sunday I was with Brandon at a swimming gala.

Yesterday Leonie and I went out and bought a new Christmas tree. We decided that the old one had to be replaced because  Brandon is now taller than it. We went for an 8ft one, that way no matter how much more growing he does he'll never be bigger than this one! Were hoping to decorate it tomorrow once hubby has put the lights on it.

My card today uses one of Krista's amazing digis called Honey. It's for a friend's daughter's birthday. It should suit her down to the ground, because she loves dance but she's also a bit of a Tomboy too.

I've followed the sketch over at Saturated Canary Challenge and coloured the image with Copics. It's lovely to watch these images come to life as you colour them, even if they do test your shading techniques.

The image has been mounted on  a nestabilities floral oval shape, these are just so pretty, and the design papers are by Raspberry Road. Some of the flowers are a recent buy from Live & Love Crafts and they're so pretty. I've coordinated the inside to match too.

Copics Used.

Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R30
Hair: E50, E51, E53, E35, E43, E44
Skirt: R81, R83, R85, R20, E41, E42
Top: YR0000, YR00, YR02, YR12
Rabbit: E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, R01, R000
Boots: C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, W0, W5, W7

Papers: Raspberry Road TATAS Collection
Flowers: WOC and Live & Love Crafts

Nestabilities; Floral Oval
Cheery Lynn: Lace Corners
EK Success: Small Butterfly Punch

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Lady Anne's Challenge - Anything Goes
Crafty Bloggers Network - Anything Goes
Digi Galore - Anything Goes
Joanna Sheen - Anything goes Excluding Christmas
Pile It on - Embellishments

Thank you so much for dropping by. Hope to see you again soon.

Big Hugs,

Slam Dunk...

Good Evening Bloggers...

I know I've been a very bad blogger recently, but there just seems to be so much going on that crafting and blogging are having to take a back seat.

I have a card to share with you today that's for my son's birthday next week. I don't think he'll look at my blog - facebook and twitter are far more exciting than my little old blog.

It's a great image for a teenage boy and suits him just perfectly. If he's not swimming (which is most days) then he's playing basketball at school in lunch break.

Here is my card using Mo Manning's 'Slam Dunk' and a great sketch from CLP Challenge.

I've coloured the image with copics and distressed the edges of my papers using vintage photo.
The papers are Raspberry Road - Cowboy Cool.

Here's a close up of the image.

I used Doo Hickey flags and Tim Holtz Typeset dies to create the name banner at the top. The stars were made using Die-namics stacking stars dies.

Here's a last look to show the 3d effect .

Card Recipe.

I'm entering my card into CLP Challenge #52

Never Too Old For a Cupcake ...

Hello blogger friends.

Hope the weather is still lovely where you are. It's been glorious here today.

I have a card  to show you today that I've made for my Sister-in-Law. I picked the papers first and then coloured the image to match.  I initially coloured the image with the greens and yellows swapped the other way around. I just didn't like it. Don't know whether it was having green icing that did it - but it went in the bin. I still wasn't sure when I'd finished it , but it's growing on me. I've never done a green/yellow scheme before so maybe it's a little out of my comfort zone.

Anyway enough of my waffle. Have a look and see what you think...

The papers are One Fine Day by Raspberry Road and the image is 'Never too old for a cupcake' by LOTV. I've coloured this cute image in with copics.

The sentiment stamps are also by LOTV. Recipe sentiments and Circular sentiments - For You. Thought the Birthday Recipe went well with the cupcake.
Just talking about cupcakes is making me hungry. lol.

The edges of the leaves and tag have been distressed with 'peeled paint' ink and the flowers are WOC

We're switching broadband providers soon so if I'm missing it's because I don't have access. As soon as it gets sorted I'll be back and I won't be competing on a slow broadband with 3 teenagers playing games and watching youtube. :-)

Until next time..

Tilda with 3 Flowers

Good evening bloggers....

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. The weather was kinder to us here in Yorkshire. Well a least it wasn't raining all weekend.

Bought some lovely digi papers from Raspberry Road last week and spent ages trying to get them resized and printed to the correct scale. Have been using GIMP (it's free) for cropping and watermarks but this just wouldn't print out the same size as I had resized it.  After some long conversations over the phone with my Dad we finally got it to work in Scribus (that's free too) - thanks Dad.

I've used some of those lovely papers on today's card and another Tilda stamp.

The flowers are made from Magnolia dies rather than my usual WOC ones and I've also used the lovely heart tag too. I can see this becoming a firm favourite :)

The image is coloured as usual with copics and I've edged the flowers with vintage photo.

Here's a close up of the image.

I'm really pleased how the image has turned out. I saw this Tilda sat on the fence on a card that Kim had made ages ago and loved it. I've been wanting to colour this since then.

Here's a close up. I've followed the sketch over at Sketch n Stash. I really enjoyed following this although it did take me a while to choose the papers. I'm a bit slow, but hopefully I'll get faster.

Sorry the photos aren't as clear as I'd like them. I'll keep trying. There's just so much to learn. At least it keeps me out of mischief and from doing the housework too :)
