Sally-Jo's Birthday

Good Morning!
Super quick post again today as this morning I have a class :-)
So, it was one of the Jems birthdays on Friday so of course I had to make a card, I was a bit late posing it out, oopsie, I really hope she got it before the weekend..
Anyway, colour coach used to get the Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz combo, Strength and Hope stamp set used, read more HERE about my charity class where we will be using this set, having a raffle and lots of other exciting stuff :-D
These butterflies are really gorgeous! I have just adhered the centre on top of a Polka Dot Embossed sheet of card,
I used Oval All for the sentiment, a set I haven't used in ages but I think it looks lovely on top of the Poly In Colour ribbon,
and another little butterfly to finish inside,
Well, that's it, I have a class starting soon so must dash,
Thanks for stopping by today

Happy Birthday to Lucy Locket :0)

Good Afternoon to you today,
Did you get that thunder storm just a while ago?? wowzers, loud and flashy woo hoo! he he!
Anyways, what I am here to say is Happy Birthday to the lovely Lucy, hugs babe xx
I decided to make her a very special card, this design is one I saw at training in Reading demonstrated by the very talented and generous Jenny, (she has a great tutorial on her blog, click on her name to go to her blog) thanks for sharing Jenny, I hope I have done it some justice ;0)

I have used the fab Vintage Vogue stamp set with choc chip and so saffron inks,

Choc chip ink, ribbon and card, dazzling diamonds glitter applied using the glue pen, and some yummy Latte buttons,
card base is made using So Saffron Carousel notes (page 80)
The little mugs are from the level 3 hostess set Queue Up,
View from the top showing sentiments from Oval All (p 58), One of a Kind (p 56) and Sincere Salutations (p 62), all punched with the oval and scallop oval punches (p 88),
Now when I folded this card I quickly realised it wouldn't fit in an envelope so I made an easy pizza box, here is the top, {sorry about the dodgy pictures for these last two, it was getting dark!} If you would like the measurements, please email me.
and lastly a dimensional shot to show the layering of the 'F'

Phew, another picture heavy post, I do hope you like, let me know
Thanks for dropping by,
Hugs S.J. xxx

Teachers cards, as promised!

Heloooo,
Here I am, back as promised :0) with some of the cards I managed to finish today-yay!
I made the round top boxes for the teachers, if you remember, a while back (Here if you don't ;0)) so I wanted the cards and boxes to be all matchy-matchy,
The cards I made are 3x3 again (loving these little ones) and I have used more of the fabby Sweet Always paper. I made all the cards with a different layout, just in case they compare them! although a little slower than making all the same, it does stop it from getting boring when you've got 7 to make!

Regal Rose card, accents and elements felt flowers and 5/8" + 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch,
Sentiments are from Seeing Spots and Oval All. Matching punches also used.

I hope you like them and well, I hope they do too! They get them tomorrow, so I will let you know!!!!
Well that's it for today, come back tomorrow for the other 3 and a piccie of the boxes with the (matching) sweets all packaged up in their cello bags,
Bye for now,

Hugs Sarah-Jane xx

Pre-school teachers gifts

Morning all,
Sorry for the lack of post yesterday but I was busy, honest!
I have been working on this project for the teachers at Zacks pre-school...

I have quickly finished one of these so I have something to share with you today, I still have the other 6 to finish!!! I am also waiting on an order of clear bags to put the sweets into so it will be a little more polished than this when I give them to Zacks teachers!! I will share a photo of them all together when they are done and also one with the bag when it gets here ;0)
I have used my favourite set Crazy for cupcakes for these little round top boxes, template found here, I water-coloured the cakes with my blender pen, these are great for detailed water-colouring, with my inkpads in Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa, Basic Grey for the stand and Real Red for the cherry on the top :0)
Now, I know the card isn't an exact match but, like I have been saying, I am trying to use up my old stash of card, (Then I can get the lovely matching card from SU!) I also used Sweet Always DSP (Available in the Share) Regal Rose 5/8" and Very Vanilla 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Oval All sentiment stamps with matching punches and my nesties.
Right must go and finish the rest! lol!
Have a lovely day,
Hugs Sarah-Jane xx

Raffle Prize

Morning folks,
Well the sun is shining here again today, long may it last this time !!
Right this is going to be a long post because I have loads of pictures for you. Zoe's school asked for prizes for the summer fayre raffle, so am giving them a Stampin' Up! one, I really hope a crafter wins this or it will be a bit rubbish for them, IYKWIM!! A crafter on the other hand, I think, would really like it...What do you think?? {Please do let me know as I haven't given it to them yet and if you think I may have missed something I can add it ;0)}

Here is the basket with everything in it ;0) I will wrap in celophane before I give it to them.
First of all I made this card to put the £10 Gift voucher in, I kept it quite simple, the 3 cherries on the front reminded me of a one armed bandit! Jackpot!!!!

These two packets are card candy, a set of strawberry toppers and some sentiments, both have a dimensional on the back ready to peel and stick, I also added a list of ingredients in the packet-so if they want to use their voucher to buy any of the components they know which to look for and in which catalogue. {Tart and tangy, oval all with matching punches}
This is just a little pot of felt flowers, buttons and linen thread.

A tube of choc raisins to keep you going whilst looking through the catalogue! A selection of DSP.
A wish list, some information about my monthly classes and a selection of Ribbons.
Most importantly the main and mini catalogue!!

Phew, I do hope you aren't asleep! This is what I have been working on this weekend and although it looks simple I have spent hours agonising the little details {like how to word the gift voucher!} I hope you likey!
Don't forget I have my own little raffle for everyone who purchases through me until the end of June and I still have a couple of paper shares left at the bargain price of £15. Scroll up for details.

Strawberry Jam

Hello Folks,
I hope you are all enjoying the holidays, Not sure about you lot, but I know I don't want to go back to the school chaos !!! Anyhow it'll soon be summer *hooray*
Today I have a card which, actually, I've only just finished. I haven't got much crafting done at all this week, I have a couple on order so have knuckled down (not really too much of a chore !)this morning and got on with it. This one is for a friend to give as a birthday card.
I have used SoSaffron cardstock stamped with Polka dot background stamp and versamark ink, Patterned paper is DCWV, oval all sentiments and matching punches, ribbon and button from stash. The image is a Penny Black one and I have decoupaged the spoon.

Not sure if you can really tell, even with this picture...
I am also entering this into the Stamp With Us challenge this week as the theme is Birthdays.

Thought I would also share a couple of piccies with you of my 3 playing with an old shoe box and a ball of string!!! They really had so much fun, who needs expensive toys eh?? lol!

Thanks for looking and have a lovely day,

Hugs Sarah-Jane xx

Cross Over Card Tutorial

Hi Folks,
As a couple of people did request this tutorial, I have made one for you but I think it may be a bit long winded !!! Sorry!!! This is my first tutorial so please be gentle with me !!! Lots of piccies as I'm not very good at explaining when writing.

Equipment needed:
2x Square card blanks
Tombow Glue (or other wet glue)
1x Sheet of 12x12 DSP
SU! Tab punch
Ribbon
Thin and very sticky double sided tape
Decoration
I will let you know which materials I have used as the post goes on.
First of all you need your two cards (mine were from Craftworks Cards and are approx 14.8 cm square (just over 5,3/4 ") facing each other so one opens the wrong way.
Next you need to cut the wrong way round card down the back to leave a lip approx. the width of your DS Tape, DO NOT THROW THIS AWAY as it is your page for the inside! You then cut off half the front of both cards diagonally, as shown, and add your tape,
Using the Designer Paper, you will need to cut:
1x 14cm square for the front which you cut in half diagonally ,
1x 4.5cm x 12" (full length of the paper) strip,
1x approx 14x13cm for layering inside,
1x square of scrap white card (for joining the band),
1x 12x12.5 cm of white card for writing inside and
1x tab of blue card for the top.
I used Washington Apple DSP by SU! and as it is double sided I could have a different pattern on the inside and round the band, to that which is on the front.
Don't forget these measurements are for this size of card blank, please adjust accordingly !

Next I ink all the edges before I stick the paper down, TIP I use a cheap make-up sponge to ink my edges as it is small enough to handle and gives just the right amount of control ! See pic below for inked and non-inked. Remember Less is more when putting ink onto your sponge!

The next step is to glue all the pieces of paper onto your card blank and inside page, whilst the glue dries it's time to make the band. First of all you need to add ribbon to the paper, I use tape for this which I stick over the edges of the paper so I get it straight, as shown, then I stick the ribbon onto the tape again using the grid to apply in a straight line. TIP I use a barely wet brush of clear nail varnish on the ends of all my ribbon to prevent fraying.
I then glue 1/2 the scrap piece of paper to one end of the band and pull tightly around card, then you carefully slide it off and hold until the glue dries with paperclips,
Now the fun part! Whilst the glue is drying I get my decoration ready !
I used Oval all stamps, the Thank-You one for the border and the Best Wishes one for the sentiment on the top, Punched using the oval and scalloped oval SU! punches then it's layered and ready to go onto the band.
On the inside I used the flowers from One of a Kind stamp set inked in Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie, to match my papers, Punched with the co-ordinating Boho Blossoms punch,
Phew, Sorry it's such a long post but I think I have covered most things !!! Let me know what you think and remember this is how I make this card not necessarily the right or easiest way !! Although I think it is quite easy like this !!
Thanks for sticking in there and I will be back tomorrow with another crossover card I made for some-body the other day,
Happy Easter
Sarah-Jane xx
