Inspire. Create challenge #45: Embossing

Hello and welcome to another week with Inspire. Create Challenges :-)
This week the theme is embossing. Now, you can use either dry embossing (folders) or heat embossing so using ink and embossing powder, or both, for this challenge. We would just like to see your makes with any kind of embossing!

As I'm sure you have noticed  I love to heat emboss so this was a no brainer for me.
 I wanted to use the Free As A Bird set in class this week so this is one of the card we made there too...

 I started with a watercolour wash on shimmer card and added a splatter of both same colour ink and some white shimmer paint.
We then added the leaves and flowers, made by stamping both and then watercolouring using the stamped images and a little extra of the same colour ink. This gives this loose washed look to the images.
TIP: Be careful not to over work the images as they'll lose their definition.
And yes, we fussy (hand) cut all these leaves and flowers but it didn't take toooo long... and the end result was worth it, don't you think? ;-)

I wanted a crisper image for the bird so I stamped in Memento ink and heat embossed it with clear powder so it was waterproof for watercolouring. While it's not absolutely necessary to heat emboss I prefer to when I want to work with a looser wash of ink, like here.

Heart Happiness for an Inspire. Create. Challenges Sketch #17

Hello!
It's time for challenge #17  already at Inspire. Create Challenges and this fortnight it's a sketch, my favourite!

I decided to use the soon to be retiring Heart Happiness stamp set but, I've stamped it in the upcoming In Colour, Blueberry Bushel. A real combo of old and new! Let's see, shall we...

 These silver enamel shapes are also leaving us but don't they look cute on these slightly larger hearts?

 I thought the sentiment from Weather Together, heat embossed in silver, was just perfect with these hearts.

and I love how well the Blueberry Bushel works with Bermuda Bay, don't you?

NEW Flying Home Birthday Card using Stampin' Blends

Hello again, this is my second post today and for this post I have a card to share with you! (to see the first post with all the new Spring/Summer catalogue and sale-a-bration details, click HERE) 
I made this card for my step-daughters birthday using the new stamp set (now available!!) Flying Home and coloured it using the Stampin' Blends :-) It was quite easy to colour with these pens, even for an alcohol marker novice like me. I totally need to practice some more with the pens as I love the saturation you get and that's exactly what we'll be doing at my Three Month Blends Class, more info on that tomorrow, but for now, the card.
 I made a DL size card (21cm x 10.5) for a change today...

 I stamped the image in memento ink and coloured it before die cutting with the stitched edge framelits...

 I added a layer of pink glimmer paper which I had in my stash and didn't realise it had retired :-(  There is some fun new 6x6" glimmer paper in the Spring/Summer catalogue though, on Page 37 ;-)

 The sentiment is from another new set, Bird Banter, stamped and white embossed on a Flirty Flamingo card strip.

Stampin' Up! Pop of Paradise Bookmarks with new In Colours 2016-18

Hello, 

I have been out and about all day today but I wanted to pop on here, albeit late, and share a little project with you before bed :-)

We made these super cute bookmarks using the new Pop Of Paradise stamps and the lovely new in colours for 2016/18 at my catalogue launch party at the beginning of the month. 

 When I looked closely at this set I realised that there was a suitable stamp image for each of the new colours! Brilliant!

 We also added a little punched heart in matching in colours and topped them with clear wink of stella, which you (hopefully) know is very sparkly IRL ;-)

 I can't wait for my class with this set next week! So fun!
