Time Out #223...A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

It is time for a new challenge at Time Out.  We challenge you to make a card inspired by the photo on our badge.  Here is a larger version of the photo:

I think it is pretty easy to see how I was inspired by this photo.  I was inspired by that beautiful green Christmas tree.  I colored the star on top in silver, inspired by the silver star in the photo.

Where will this challenge take you?  We would love to see you make your own card inspired by this photo.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from  the Time Out Design Team.  Newton's Nook is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Time Out #46...Reminder...Merry Christmas

Hello!  There is still time to play along with our challenge at Time Out.  This week, we are inspired by this gorgeous photo.

I was inspired again by the colors and the general Christmas holiday theme of the photo.

You've got to love an image that contains its own sentiment, right?  Not much to this card.  I stamped the Merry Christmas Tree stamp on a piece of white card stock that I had cut with a stitched rectangle die.  I layered that over a piece of red card stock and adhered both panels to my card base.  I colored the star at the top of the tree with a silver glitter pen.

I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us over the next week.  Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our Guest Designer Sonja.

Make it Monday #192, CASology 125: Silver and Simon Says Wednesday

I made a card for a friend who is going to Minnesota to see some specialists about her heart.  I decided to use this week's Make it Monday technique for the card--and I used a heart as my die cut.

Here is the card all folded up.  I used Doodlebug Take Note paper because it is so colorful and cheery.

More happy rainbows inside the card.

The cue word at CASology #125 this week is SILVER, and I made both a Chanukah card and a Christmas card.  You can see my Chanukah card here, and today I am posting my Christmas card.  Doesn't get much easier than this--A sentiment in the shape of a Christmas tree by Hero Arts--stamped once in Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.  I am also entering this card at Simon Says Wednesday Bling it On challenge.

That's it for me today.
