Helmar/Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop

Today the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates are teaming up with the designers from Helmar to bring you a blog hop jam packed with crafty goodness!   We carry many Helmar products in the Ribbon Carousel Shop.  They are our go-to-company for adhesives!

Helmar USA Inc began in late 2009 initially setup to distribute Helmar branded product manufactured by Helmar Australia and to better service and expand our existing US customer base. It was located in San Diego, California. Whilst the business grew steadily and slowly it wasn't the ideal location for our business to continue to grow.
2012 has seen some major changes already this year for Helmar USA Inc. and those positive changes will continue. In the interests of moving forward and enabling the business to grow from strength to strength, relocation and a change in ownership became inevitable.
In June 2012 Helmar USA Inc. was relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now with a much larger warehouse to allow for future expansion and also located close to major transport links, supply to our customers and business growth will be much more efficient.
Another major postive change we have made is to expand our design team. Headed by Erika Taylor the changes implemented so far have been refreshing and inspiring. The range of product education & projects available through various media is outstanding. We truly have very talented group of designers and are so excited to be working with some of the best companies as preferred partners, in the industry.

Now, lets talk prizes!

Hop along with us today and leave some blog love for our Ribbon Carousel Crewmates and the Helmar designers to be eligible to win one of the 2 prizes up for grabs!

The Helmar prize is a complete pack of Zapdots (12 packs) including clear, black and white in circles and squares, in both the large and small sizes!

The other prize up for grabs is a $20 gift certificate to the Ribbon Carousel Store

Let's get to it!!

For my card today, I used the super cute Pumpkin Patch Girl set from the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence line. I stamped her on X-Press It blending card, and some Lilybee Designs Autumn Spice paper. My paper layers were cut out with the Fishtail Flag Stax Die-namics. I used Michael's brads and some Brown Jute Twine from the Ribbon Carousel. My cardstock colors are Bucakroo Blue, Orange Fizz, Sweet Tooth, and Hot Fudge. I used the Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive to put together all the layers on my card, except the main image. I love that kind of adhesive runner. I also used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Bazzill Cardstock and the Ribbon Carousel!

Hey everyone!! The Ribbon Carousel is hopping along with Bazzill today to introduce you to what is becoming one of my FAVORITE things!!

Have you tried the Bazzill Card Shoppe Cardstock yet?!

Bazzill has been working with its paper mills to create the perfect premium, smooth, heavy-weight cardstock that will be a sweet treat for every card-maker. Now available in 28 coordinating colors. The paper is a stout 100 lbs. and folds with a crisp edge. It won’t warp when used with markers, inks, or mists, and can handle loads of embellishments without sagging.

Did you know that we carry all 28 colors at the Ribbon Carousel store?!
The Ribbon Carousel Crewmates have fallen in love with the stuff!

We are thrilled to be teaming up with Bazzill today to show off their amazing new cardstock!  Today is National Lollipop Day so the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates have created some crafty eye candy with this theme!

For my card today, I used the Freeze The Moment set from There She Goes. I hand drew her lollipop on X-Press it Blending card, along with my image, and colored it with Copics. I added a Oval Open Scalloped Doily Die-namics layer using Candy Hearts from Bazzill. This is truly one of THE best card stocks I have EVER had the pleasure of using. It is thick, smooth, and it cuts SO well. I LOVE the colors, too...which supplement my cardstock collection PERFECTLY!! My other cardstock colors are Juicy Pear and Banana Split(my current favorite color, ever). Satin Edged White Grosgrain from The Ribbon Carousel was used for my bow and my spiral clip. I also used the Echo Park Hello Summer paper pad, and Michael's brads.

Well, that is it for me for now! After you check out the cards my teammates and I have made on the Ribbon Carousel Blog, head right on over to the Bazzill blog AND there you find a special COUPON for the Ribbon Carousel store!

TSG161 Winged Things

You know when you start making a card...and you see it in your head...then you put it on paper and it isn't ANYTHING like what you expected it to be? Well, that happens to me very rarely, but tonight, this card took on a life of it's own. Maybe it's all the stuff going on in my "real life", but wow...how out of my element was THIS? Only two layers on the base? And would you LOOK at all that cutting? What in the world....LOL!!

My card is for this week's There She Goes challenge, to make a card using "Winged Things". It is There She Goes Again week, and this week we are featuring three older sets, all with wings....including the set I have used today(Bee Happy), Spread Your Wings, and Love Birds. All gorgeous sets, and PERFECT for making your creations SOAR!!

So, not much to tell about my card, so I will list the supplies!! I used the Bee Happy set, paired with some Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane paper, Black Licorice(MFT), Banana Split(Bazzill), and X-Press It Blending Card card stock. I stamped all my images in Memento Tuxedo Black, and colored them with my Copics. I cut out three of the flowers, and all of the bees and popped them up. My brads are from Michael's, my spiral clip from Creative Express, and my Black Twill ribbon, and Lemondrop Twine are all from the Ribbon Carousel.

Speaking of the Ribbon Carousel, this card also works PERFECTLY for this week's challenge, Heavy Metal!! What card do I make that ISN'T covered with brads, right? LOL!!

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to check out both challenges, and I will see you back tomorrow night with this month's VIP hop from My Favorite Things!!!

Inspirational Birthday Bash

Hey everyone!! It is time for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge, and this week, I am the hostess!!

My challenge to you all this week is to make a birthday card, easy peasy!! I combined this week's Ribbon Carousel challenge with this week's There She Goes challenge. I LOVE the inspiration photo this week, so I was excited to get to play along!

I used the new Oh Crop set for my card today, along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch....which I modified just a tiny bit. I moved the sentiment, which was place on a flag from the MFT First Place Award Die-namics. I used the MFT Circle Stax Die-namics and the Open Scalloped Doily Duo Die-namics. My card stock is the new Bazzill Gold Coin and PTI's Aqua Mist. For my card base, I used Sweet Tooth from MFT, and my paper is the Baby Jane Deck from Cosmo Cricket. To embellish it, I used Champagne Vintage Seam Binding, and some Michael's brads.

Well, that is all for me! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out all three challenges that I have entered!

It's A Kraftin' Kimmie Kinda Day...

It's challenge time again with Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, and guess what....I'm this month's Guest Designer!!! I was SO THRILLED when I got an email from Kim and Michele Boyer asking me if I would be interested, and I could NOT say no!! I LOVE Kimmie's stamps, and own several, I just never get a chance to play with them....here's my chance!!! Thank you SO MUCH Kimmie for this FABULOUS honor!!

This week's challenge is being hosted by Angie Baker, and her challenge was to do anything but a card...I picked the perfect time to be a guest, huh, LOL!!! I don't normally do ABC, so I was so nervous about my project for today, I can't even tell you! The prize this week is the super cute new Miss Information set that was just released!!

My boyfriend and I just moved into a new house, and his kids FINALLY have rooms of their own with us, so I wanted to make something special for his daughter Jenna's room. She and I spent over an hour in Target picking out a bed set, and this will match it pretty darn closely! So, I decided to do a altered clipboard to hang on her wall...it's not really functional as a clipboard now, but I love the way it turned out! I used one of the ADORABLE images from the Springtime Lulu set, which was stamped on X-Press It Blending Card. I colored her with my Copics, then layered her with Black Licorice card stock. I used all three MFT Royal Rose Die-namics(Large, Royal, and Mini) to create my flowers from some MME So Sophie and Black Licorice card stock. I used the MFT Fancy Flourish Die-namics for my flourishes, and some American Crafts Thickers for Jenna's name. My ribbon is Black Vintage Seam Binding from the Ribbon Carousel, and I used a Creative Express Spiral Clip. To cover the clipboard, I used both the MME So Sophie and Meadowlark paper pads, along with some scallops made with the MFT Simply Scalloped Medium Die-namics.

Here is a close up of my super cute Lulu image!

Well, that is it for me for now! Be sure to head on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog to see what the other girls have created for this challenge!!! I am SO honored to be working with them!! Have a great day!!
