Blue Nails for April Autism Awareness Month!

April is Autism Awareness Month and I think I should have enough to post only blue mani's during April.  And that's no joke!  I'm going to try anyway so hopefully you won't get bored with blue nails for a while!

I've been going through archived posts and looking through old picture files to see if I have any post worthy nails that haven't shared yet (which is why there have been so many regular posts lately and older mani's being shared).  I've had this mani in archives for a long time (this mani was done November 1, 2015!)  and it's time they seen the light of day!  I'm not quite sure why I haven't posted them earlier - probably just a matter of too many other nails to share or not enough time to do the blog post!  Another pretty simple mani but I do like how it turned out!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Glam Polish Nalu, no top coat.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush.

Stamped with an image from Nail Matinee NM 03 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

(Not sure what happened here!  Sorry, it's not very clear!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I'm still doing my nails on a regular basis but want to get some of these older mani's posted!  I happen to have some free time on the weekends with the hubs working so much and before I leave for cottage country on the weekends in the spring/summer/fall so want to see if I can clear some of these manis out of archived files!  Not sure how long this will last or how many posts I'll get through but I'm even a few is a help! This is the problem when you do your nails 4-5-7 times a week but only do blog posts 1-3 times (or less) a week!

Bee's Knees Lacquer A Better Strength

press sample

This gorgeous lilac with beautiful iridescent flakies is Bee's Knees Lacquer A Better Strength!  Another polish received at Indie Expo Canada 2018!

Started with a base of two coats of Nails Inc. Regent Place, no top coat.

Applied a thin coat of Bee's Knees Lacquer A Better Strength over Nail's Inc. Regent Place.  Application was easy; there were no problems with the polish formula or the brush.  One coat provided this general topper coverage although it would easily built to opaque in 2 or 3 coats as it is jammed with iridescent flakies! The colour of the tinted lilac base and the unicorn flakies (not the name, I just made it up as it seems so right!) blend so well together and it results in a stunning combination with hints of pink and blue flashing on your nails!  Bees Knees Lacquer A Better Strength is part of the A Court of Thorns and Roses Collection that was recently released.

Not too many manis I wear go unstamped, so stamped Bee's Knees A Better Strength with an image from Nail Matinee NM 07 using MdU 60, then topped it with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  Again, wanting an image that allowed the beauty of the base to shine through with this tone on tone stamping.

This is my mani the next day out in the wild posing with flowers at the office!  Fantastic seeing the flakies shining through the stamped image!

Bee's Knees Lacquer A Better Strength and other polishes are available here.  Bee's Knees Lacquer is also available via Girly Bits here.

Hawkins, Indiana by CANVAS lacquer

I'm sorry I've been offline most of the week; just really busy with life and work.  I still have been doing my nails though as it is my nightly stress reliever (if I'm not getting home at midnight and too tired!) so have more of The Upside Down Collection by CANVAS lacquer.  This is Hawkins, Indiana by CANVAS lacquer**!

Described as:  a deep inky blurple with sparks of icy blue microflake shimmer.

There were no issues with application and clean up was a breeze!

Started with a base of two coats of Hawkins, Indiana by CANVAS lacquer, shown with no top coat.

I thought this was a perfect base for a dramatic night scene with images I had picked out for Halloween but never got to using from Nail Matinee NM16 and FunkyFingers Gesso.

Jade Holografico Delirio Rosa and NM07

As I sit and wait for some stamper decals to dry for some what I'm hoping to be really cool nails for Digit-al Dozen week while watching today's Olympic highlights, I thought I'd share this easy peasy, simple mani from a few weeks ago!

Started with a base of two coats of Jade Holografico Delirio Rosa, shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using an image from Nail Matinee NM07 using a FAB clear stamper to help with image placement (and still not perfect!)

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Different lighting; look at that holo!!!!

Hope you're having a great week; thanks for looking!

Summer Bright Nails!

I know this mani is easy peasy but I love how simple stamping can be and there are a lot of days when easy peasy is just what I need with my hectic life!

Started with a base of two coats of Illamasqua Lament, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

For the easy peasy stamping, used an image from Nail Matinee NM 07 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  I love this image and have used it a couple times now but it kinda freaks me out as it looks so much like an eyeball! Might be cool for some Halloween/scary mani's though!

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbows; Day 2

It's Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen rainbow week; I did rainbow skittles!

For the skittles, used all Jade Holografico polishes; Deja Vu, Hypnose, Oasis, Fascinio Violeta and Mirage; all are two coats except Hypnose and Fascinio Violeta, which are three.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Nail Matinee NM 07 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  This is one of my current fave images; I've used it a few times now.  It's one of those images that is interesting yet you see the beauty of the base through which I look for often when stamping.

Champagne Dancefloor by CANVASlacquer

Loving the exotic look of this mani with another polish received from CANVASlacquer** for review!

Started with a base of two coats of Champagne Dancefloor by CANVASlacquer, no top coat. Champagne Dancefloor is a creamy peach loaded with gold shimmer; there were no application issues and two coats gave opaque coverage.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Decided to do a gradient using Champagne Dancefloor with KBShimmer For Fox Sake.  What was really interesting with the sponging is that a lot of the gold shimmer sponged on the nail, making this beautiful, vibrant gold shimmer for the lower half of the gradient.  I love this colour combination!

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Nail Matinee NM05 using Funky Fingers Gesso.  I used the clear jelly stamper for placement; this is the perfect example of why the concept of the jelly stamper works so well as never in a million years would I have been able to place the image just so and centred so well!  All the lining up credit goes to the jelly stamper!  I picked this image to give the mani added interest while allowing the beauty of the golden shimmer to shine on the nail unobscured!

I'm sorry that my nails are so ill shaped in these pix; I didn't even notice until I was posting these pictures so I hope that I didn't offend anyone too badly!

CANVASlacquer products are available here; they are made in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and ship internationally to select countries.
