God jul!

Det kommer fra fjorårets kolleksjon "So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Collection 2009".

Tilda with Amaryllis

Ohh only one day left...:) Can't belive it is the day before Christmas already!! But it is so good to have some days off from work, and as you can imagine I uses the days crafting. Don't think I dropped any bomb there;) Hoho!
I am actually finishing some wedding invitations for my cousin that is going to get married next summer. They will get married and celebrate in Skagen, Denmark. So fortunately for me (who is making the invitations..) there will not be many invites, only 16 to make. The "lovebirds" have picked out one of my older cards, so I am copying. They are going to get married on the beach, so therefor they just loved the image of Tilda and Edwin who is standing barefoot in the sand:) Anyway, I will show you the cards when I am finished.
Now for this card! I have ofcourse used the utterly gorgeous papers from Maja Design again. They are from this year's Christmas Collection "Frøjdefull Jul".
The image is Magnolia's-Tilda with amaryllis. Amaryllis is at the moment my favourite flower at Christmas, I have one on the table in front of me:) If you look closely on the flowers you can see that I have added some Crackle Accents to them. Tilda is coloured with Distress Ink, in soft colours.
This card is not only a card, but a tea light card. I have once again used the tutorial that Marianne made for StampARTic.
I have used the Doily lace punch from Martha Stewart on the edges, and for the swirls I have used a DooHickey die from Magnolia. The shapes for the image is a Spellbinder die.
On the inside I have made the tags from a DooHickey Magnolia die.
This is such a lovely gift, so a huge thanks to Marianne who came up with the idea:))
To make the heart-opening I have drawn off a Spellbinder heart on the back of the paper, the cut it out with scissors.
Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my post yesterday!:)) You are all so lovely...

Tilda with fir

Here is a card with Tilda with Fir from  Magnolia. If she is getting a proper Christmas tree she has to get it herself:)
She is coloured with Distress Ink, Reinkers. And for the brown I have used the colours Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. She is stamped on Canson Water Colour paper 300g, with Archival Ink-Coffee. The sentiment is also from Magnolia (made with love). I have inked the paperedges with Walnut Stain, and sewed them with my sewing machine. I have added Stickles-Star Dust to her coat, and a bit faux snow on the tree.
For this card I have used some of Maja Design's newest papers, from the collection "Ska vi ta en fika".
The name of the papers here are: Kladdkaka, Chokoladmuffins and Kärleksmums.
I just love the brown tones, makes me want some chocolate;) Hmm... a bit dangerous!:))
On the edges I have used two stamps from Stempelglede-Vintage Garden.
I have made some flowers of laces. I have just wrapped them around a pearl-brad, very easy to do:)
Tomorrow I will be at my grandmother together with my brothers and cousins to decorate her Christmas Tree, eat Christmas Cookies and drink Chocolate:) Mmmmm! This has been a tradition for 25 years. And this year will be the last... She will be moving to a small cottage next year, so she will not be able to have a big tree in there. A bit sad, but we have to enjoy tomorrow...

Loving Christmas Wishes

Magnolia Advent Calendar Day 13

Welcome to my blog on my special day in Magnolia's Advent Calendar. Today it is Monday 13th December. And it is also Santa Lucia.
Here are some facts about Santa Lucia:
"Santa Lucia was born to noble, Christian parents in Syracuse, Italy. As a young girl, she took a secret vow to consecrate her virginity to Christ. As a teenager, Lucia's mother tried to arrange a marriage for her with a pagan. Lucia apparently knew that her mother would not be convinced by a young girl's vow so she devised a plan to convince her mother that Christ was a much more powerful partner for life.
Through prayers at the tomb of Saint Agatha, her mother's long illness was miraculously cured. Joyful at her cure, Lucia's mother agreed to bestow Lucia's fortune to the poor. Lucia's pagan suitor was incensed and accused Lucia, before a judge, of being a Christian. When Lucia refused to relinquish her faith, the judge ordered her to a brothel; however, guards who attempted to drag her to the house of sin were unable to budge Lucia. Similarly an attempt to burn Lucia to death failed. She was ultimately stabbed in the throat with a sword, died. The date of Lucy's martyrdom was December 13, 304."
Here are also some facts about how Santa Lucia is celabrated in Sweden:
"Santa Lucia's Day, December 13th, is celebrated in a number of ways by several European nations. In Sweden, the oldest (or youngest) daughter in each household traditionally carries a tray of coffee and traditional pastries, called lussekatter (Lucy cats), to her parents before they arise in the morning. She wears a white gown, scarlet sash, and a crown of greens with four, seven, or nine lighted candles. Her brothers, wearing white shirts and tall, cone-shaped hats decorated with stars, and her sisters, all in white and carrying lighted candles, follow her. In many towns, a "Santa Lucia" is chosen to carry coffee and buns to each house. She and her followers, each bearing a lighted candle, sing carols as they traverse the dark streets while St. Steven, represented by a man on horseback, leads the way. The procession is done in memory of Santa Lucia's traverse through dark woods to bring bread and other food to the poor."
So this is the tradition where Pauline gets her ideas for the Lucia images of Tilda and Edwin:)
I was planned to make some Lucy cats for today. But instead I got caught up with this little project! I have for some time now wanted to make a book. I got the idea from the talented Pia Bau.
I haven't found any tutorial for these books, so I had to improvise:)) Just as it is said, this is my first attempt to make a book of papers.
For this I have used my favourite Santa Lucia stamp, Star Tilda. And when it is all my day, I have choosen to have it in pink;))
This is the front of the book/box. It is decorated with Magnolia papers, Prima flowers, and cream roses from Hjerteboden. The text "With all my love" is from the Winter Kit, You are so Special Collection 2011.
The box measures 11x15 cm.
On the backbone I have made the letters from a new die that I got together with my new Sizzix BIG SHOT!! A Christmas present from Bjarne:)) I just love my Big Shot! And I didn't manage to wait untill Christmas Eve to open it up, I ripped it up at once! The letters are from Tim Holtz and are called Vintage Market. I have inked them with Distress Ink-Walnut Stain, and then added Crackle Accents onto them. The paper is bazzill-Vanilla (the one I use the most).
If you don't already know, "jul" means "Christmas" in Norwegian. And "God Jul" - "Merry Christmas".
Under you can see the inside of the book/box. It is not so pretty. I think I have to come up with something to do it more prettier. But I think if I fill the box with chocolate or something else nice, it will look better.
I have used Water Colour paper 180 g for the book. I have folded it on each 1 cm. Then inked it with Distress Ink-Walnut Stain. And to get a more old look I have added Crackle Paint-Rock Candy (clear) to it.
I have made a matching card to the book/box. I actually made the card first:) This Star Tilda is stamped with Archival Ink-Jet Black. But the one on the book is stamped with Archival Ink-Coffee.
For her pink dress I have mixed the colours Tattered Rose, Aged Mahogany and Weathered Wood. For her hair I have used Antique Linen and Walnut Stain. And skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose.
I have also put a Star Anise between the flowers.
Under you can see the card from above.
Here comes the last photo! The whole set again:)
I really hope you liked my post, and if you leave me a comment today (or in the next 24 hours) under this post, you are in the draw of winning a surprise from Magnolia!!
I wish you all Good Luck!!

MDUC #76 ~ Red, Brown and Cream

Here is my card for MDUC#76, which is to make a card using the colours red, brown and cream.
I coloured Gingerbread Tilda from Magnolia with Distress Ink. She is so cute with that hat! The text is also from Magnolia, and I really like that song. Once I have heard it, I have it in my head all day:) I have stamped it with Archival Ink-Coffee.
Up in the corners I have use a new die, Fancy tags from Spellbinders! The fence die is from Magnolia. I have bought them both in my husbands web shop "Hjerteboden":)
The gorgeous papers are from Maja Design. If you look closely to the right, behind the flowers, you can see two Gingerbreads:)) They are Quic Kutz dies.
I have also fastened a gold heart to the Fancy Tags, and added a Word Window Punch paper to it aswell. The pearls are from KaiserCrafts.
I have inked all paper edges with Distress Ink-Walnut Stain, and then sewed them.
I hope you like it and that I have inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The rest of my teamies have made some stunning creations for you as always. Pop over and have a look!
Thank you so much for visiting!! And have a wonderful evening:))

Angel Tildas

I made two angels for Christmas decorations. I wanted to make these angels with some pupils at school, and we did! They are very easy to make. And both girls and boys loved to make them.
The papers are from Magnolia, and I have coloured the images with Distress Ink. The tutorial for the angels is in the newest Magnolia Ink Magazine (Christmas Edition), and were made by the talented Camilla H.
I have only used Stickles-Star Dust, lace, pearls and a rose for decorations.
I guess you are following the Magnolia Christmas Calendar?!!:)
Today it is Mary that is the host! Please visit her lovely blog and look at her amazing creations!!
