Un tributo a una de mis películas favoritas, "La semilla del diablo" (Roman Polanski, 1968), concretamente al personaje de Rosemary Woodhouse, maravillosamente interpretado por Mia Farrow.

Trampolina

Trampolina y su donut son artistas callejeras que tienen su propio espectáculo de terror. Nadie parece sospechar que no están disfrazadas… Esa es su apariencia habitual y, por supuesto, ¡son zombies de verdad!

Trampolina and her donut are street artists who have their own horror show. Nobody suspects that they are not dressed up... this is their usual appearance and, of course, they are real zombies!

Charlie and the chocolate factory / Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate

La encantadora Lô tiene en marcha un proyecto de cuadernos con temáticas variadas que van viajando por el mundo para ser dibujados por diferentes ilustradores. Me propuso colaborar y acepté. En este caso no se trata de un cuaderno, sino del maravilloso libro de Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate de Roald Dahl, ilustrado por Quentin Blake.

The charming Lô has a travelling sketchbooks project with different themes. She asked me to participate and I agreed. In this case is not a sketchbook, it is a book, the wonderful “Charlie and the chocolate factory” by Roald Dalh and illustrated by Quentin Blake.

He dibujado sobre la página del gordinflón Augustus Gloop a unos chocolates, ¡pobrecillos!, están aterrorizados ante la perspectiva de ser comidos por él. La ilustración de Quentin Blake del monstruito y su madre es genial.

La chocolatina dice: "Siempre quise que me comiera un niño muy mono, pero este es un monstruo".

Y las bolitas de chocolate dicen: "¡Yo seré el siguiente, estoy seguro! ¡Glup!" "¡Pobre Chocobob!" "Baja y escóndete con nosotros!"

I have painted on the page of the fatty Augustus Gloop some chocolates, poor things! They are terrified to be eaten by the kid. I love the illustration of the little monster and his mother made by Quentin Blake.

También he dibujado sobre la página de Violet Beauregarde, la gran comedora de chicle. En este caso son un par de chicles que esperan pacientemente que la niña deje las chocolatinas y vuelva con ellos. El chicle dice "¡Te hemos echado mucho de menos, Violet!"

I have also painted on the page of Violet Beauregarde, the great gum chewer. There are two gums waiting patiently for the girl to leave the chocolate bars and go back to gum.

Y, como adoro el personaje de Willy Wonka, quería hacer algo realmente especial: ¡un muñeco de papel de Willy Wonka! Lo he metido dentro del libro para que se pueda usar como un marcapáginas.

And, since I adore the figure of Willy Wonka, I felt I had to do something really special, a paper doll of Willy Wonka! I put him inside the book to use it as a bookmark. 

Lilura & Mrs Maeve

La señora Maeve, respetable sombrera e institutriz, lleva cientos de años enseñando las artes de la hechicería a las mujeres de la familia Decrépitus. Todas ellas se convirtieron en excelentes brujas, de ahí su desesperación con LILURA. Es incapaz de prestar atención más de cinco minutos. En vez de volar en una escoba, vuela en un demonio piruleta gigante con perilla que tiene un sentido del humor de lo más perverso. En vez de decir los hechizos, los canta, lo que provoca todo tipo de efectos inesperados... ¡Lilura es un desastre! Pero lo peor de todo, lo que no deja vivir a la pobre señora Maeve, es que Lilura no es capaz de ponérsela a ella de sombrero porque no le cabe con esos pelos de loca que tiene.

Mrs Maeve, a respectable hat and governess, has spent hundreds of years teaching the skills of sorcery to the women of the Decrepitus family. They all became excellent witches, that´s why LILURAexasperates her so much. She is unable to pay attention to anything more than five minutes. Instead of riding a broom, she rides a giant demon lollipop with a goatee and a naughty sense or humour. Instead of reciting her spells, she sings them, which causes all kind of unexpected effects... Lilura is just hopeless! But the worst thing that really kills poor Mrs Maeve is the fact that Lilura isn´t capable to put herself on as a hat because she doesn´t fit her with that crazy hair!

Catalepsia

Catalepsia es enfermera desde hace muchos años. Es muy eficaz, hermética, imperturbable y la mano derecha del mundialmente famoso doctor Hystericus. ¿Es un genio? ¿O es un loco peligroso? Se rumorea que tienen un romance y que ella le es siempre leal a pesar de las muchas conquistas del doctor. ¿Quién podría imaginar que hay una pasión tórrida bajo su indiferencia?

Catalepsia has been a nurse for many years. She is very efficient, hermetic, imperturbable and the right hand of the worldwide famous doctor Hystericus. Is he a genius? Or is he a dangerous mad man? Rumour has it that they are having an affair and that is she devoted to him despite his many conquests. Who could imagine that there is a torrid passion under her indifference?
