Computer or Tablet Sleeve with Palette Purple by Tim Holtz

Hello Friends! I'm back with another sewing project using the Tim Holtz Palette Purple Collection. I also added in some of my favorites from the Palette Yellow Collection. I love this combination it's so happy! I found some inspiration on Pinterest for this pattern and good news it's FREE.
I changed it slightly and added patchwork to the outside. This pattern is Fat Quarter friendly except for the lining!

The pattern is by Olivia Jane Handcrafted. You can see her post here.

Create your patchwork as desired. I used a 2 1/2" block for a 2" finished block.

Layer with Soft and Stable and quilt as desired. I've used a grid that stitches through the corners of the blocks.

Add yellow binding to the top inside edge of the sleeve. Fold the bottom up 7 1/4" and pin or clip.

Round the corners of the flap. I used a 2 1/2" circle. I only rounded the flap and not the bottom edge.

Add the bias binding around the sides and top flap.

I added a snap closure so my computer will be secure.

I love the pop of yellow with the purple patchwork.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Sewing!

Double Zip Gear Bag 2.0 with Tim Holtz Palette Fabric in Indigo

Hello friends! I can hardly believe it's already August. Our project today is a great travel/gear case or for holding your tool for crafting or sewing. And let's talk about this gorgeous floral! The Tim Holtz Palette in Indigo has 10 beautiful prints from light to dark and has Typography, Florals, Tickets, Maps and more. I was really drawn to the Palette Wallpaper (floral) for the outside, Palette Tapestry for the lining and the deep dark Palette Vintage for accents. I love how the fabric shows off the Double Zip Gear Bag 2.0 Patterns by Annie. the pattern comes in 3 sizes and I've used the medium for our project today.

Don't you love this Palette Indigo Wallpaper (floral). GORGEOUS!
I love all the zipper pocket this bag has to offer.
So helpful to stay organized.

It's also a great size at 5"H x 10 1/2"W x 7"D

Here are some highlights for sewing the bag.
Gather your supplies and cut all the pieces out. I love that Patterns by Annie has little labels for all the pieces. So helpful to keep things straight.

Layer your pieces for quilting.         Quilt as desired. I used a 1 1/4" grid.

Cut the pieces from the quilted pieces.

Create the pockets by sewing the binding on and adding the zippers.

Sew mess pockets to the inside of the main piece.

Sew zipper pockets to the exterior of the bag.

Create the center flap by adding the zippers and lining.
Round corners of the end pieces and add Velcro and strap to end.

Sew the center flap to the main body oof the bad.

Add the binding to the ends turn rightsize out and you're all done.

The outside features a zipper pocket on each side.
Double zipper in the middle for easy access.

The inside has mess pocket on each side for holding smaller items.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy Sewing!

Hexie Pillow - Palette Teal by Tim Holtz

Hello friends! I'm so excited to share this Hexie Pillow with you all using the Tim Holtz Palette in Teal. I've had my eye on this pattern for a while and the teal fabric is perfect for it. This pattern by Modern Handcraft and Fat Quarter friendly, you will just need one yard of fabric for the pillow portion. The Palette Teal fabrics are so pretty with deep dark colors to soft beautiful images. The Teal Butterflies fabric is my favorite.

Don't you just love the quilting on this?

Palette Teal is available in online and in stores now!

Great pattern, easy to follow instructions and there are a few videos as well.

The Hexes are made with the English Paper Piecing techniques.
I basted all my hexes to the papers by hand. It was much quicker then I anticipated.

Once the hexes were all basted I laid them out to see how it was going to look.
I adhered all the hexes as instructed and let dry. Waiting for everything to dry was the hard part.

I layered the pieces together with batting in the middle for quilting.
I like to use spray base as its quick and easy.

I marked my lines with a air disappearing pen and then started quilting. Be sure to test your marking method to make sure it works properly.

I love how all the lines go through the block and create a little star pattern.

I can't wait to make another project with the Palette Teal Fabrics.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
