Crap I picked up this week

Bug was one of those strange films I remember watching on TV growing up. I haven't seen it in ages. Sometime in the '80's I reckon. Wonder how it holds up.

A few years ago when Zombie's Halloween came out I traded in my DVD'S of these. But This was cheap and I kind of want to watch these again and reassess them.

Nazis, a robot of living metal, a time traveling woman from England's past, Cybermen and Ace blowing shit up. Oh Dr.Who I love you so.

This Slasher/Giallo hybrid looks interesting and crazy.

I can't believe I didn't have this on DVD! I used to watch my VHS copy of this weekly in the '80's.

Nightbeast looks like it's perhaps the "best" movie ever made, I'm really looking forward to watching it.

Speaking of "best" movies ever. Old Syngenor has always been a favorite. Just look at that pic below.

I'm a sucker for this film series. Not really sure why I enjoy them, but I do. Besides the first Children Of The Corn was looking all lonely there on the shelf.

Big fan of Pete Walker's films, especially Frightmare.

This week's haul

Most everything I got was from online sellers because frankly the local Wal-Mart never has anything very interesting. The FYE though can usually be counted on for a few finds.

Dead and Buried is one of those films I remember seeing on HBO back in the '80's. The attack scenes, the needle in the eye one especially are quite viscous. Lord only knows how I got away with watching this one.

I've really been on a Hammer Films kick as of late. The Hammer Icons series have been spectacular so far. Cash on Demand and These are The Dammed are the two in this set I really want to see badly.

I've finally gotten to drastically updating my old taped off PBS Dr. Who VHS tapes to the wonderful DVDS put out by the BBC. Between that and watching the new season on BBC America you might say I've become addicted. On a side note...holy crap are those VHS tapes I have old. Laser tapes anyone?

I already own the other release of Thriller: A Cruel Picture on DVD. But besides just being a total collecting nerd, I just wanted to be able to watch it without all those porn inserts.

I can't believe I didn't already own The Dead Next Door and Return of the Living Dead part II. Well I've corrected that. Thank you FYE.

Satan's Little Helper has gotten some decent reviews online and it was cheap (4.99) so giddy up!

Speaking of reviews. This great review at Beardy Freak has had me trying to track down a copy of Killer's Moon for a few years. Finally I found a copy and one that wasn't way overpriced. Crazy Clockwork Orange style killers vs. a bus full of school girls...what's not to love about that?

Dark Horse's first volume of Marvel's Star Wars comics was fantastic. Flipping through the 2nd volume it appears to be just as great. The interior artwork by Carmine Infantino is wonderful beyond words. Pure groovy space opera fun.

Marvel's Essentials series are done on the cheap in Black and White. I for one love the lack of color. It's great seeing the line work by the artists in all it's glory. The first half of the stories in this volume are by Marie Severin and the second half is by Herb Trimpe. There's some great match ups with the Silver Surfer, the Rhino, Sub-Mariner, the Mandarin, Ka-Zar, the Sand-Man, and the return of the Leader.

It's your Uncle Bingo.

Over the weekend I stopped by the local FYE and found a few surprises. Lately there has been a whole lot of interesting things out there. But the bargain and used bins contained a few choice picks.

Featuring Sandra Bullock? Sure. Why not. Anyway it sounds fairly cheesy (fun), plus it's only 2.99 so I'll bite.

It's been ages since I sat down and watched this 1989 phenomena. When I got the VHS way back when I think I watched this sucker nearly everyday for a month.

Oh, this is gonna hurt.

And winging it's way to me from Amazon is this '80's cornball slasher film.

Look what the cat dragged in

Another weekend spent... spending. I'll turn the economy around single handed.

It seems that most of my hard earned bucks go to Amazon lately. These weekend I felt the need to order some '80's fun. Lately I've been addicted to the '80's sex comedies

Plus I found a few used DVDS at FYE.

And last but not least, my newest addiction. There goes my free time.

From the used bin

Another weekend trek to the local FYE and the Video World next door to it turned up a few cheap and used curiosities.

I've wanted to check this out for awhile now. I'm a sucker for old Pinhead. While it will most likely suck balls, at least it was under ten bucks.

Drunken style. My favorite. Hopefully this will hold some gems. Was the only "new" thing i bought.

I recall my dad watching this back in the 80's. Don't remember much about it except for Bridges in drag at one point.

I know nothing about. But it does have Charisma Carpenter from Buffy and Angel in it. Plus it was 3.99.

Also was 3.99, might as well give it a try.

Hum...five girls? A haunted sanitarium? Could go either way.

3.99 too. And from the look of the pictures on the back, it was most likely the budget on this sucker.
