Cosmetic Cupcake

It's cold and rainy in Sydney tonight which is the ideal weather for a lazy night in on the couch. It's also the weather for a sweater manicure! I haven't polished my nails in like 3 weeks and when I don't have time I like to do a tried and tested mani and the cheats way is to stamp. I did this exact same combo when I first hauled my Nailz Craze plates but I never posted it on my blog so it was time to recreate the mani!


I used 2 coats of Cult Nails Tempest as my base and stamped sweater design from Nailz Craze plate NC03 using Scratchers Iron Red stamping polish. I decided to mattify it and and covered it all in a coat of Essie Matte About You. It's by far my favourite matte topcoat but my bottle is soooooooo old I had to I had to add a few drops of Seche Restore to it haha. I think it's about time for a new bottle oops!

Just a quick NOTD for you tonight! I used S-he Stylezone 384 which I got from the lovely Anita from our awesome swap.

I am an absolute sucker for purple polishes and Stylezone 384 is a winner! It's a gorgeous purple with blue shimmer through it and as usual is hard to photograph. Unfortunately the polish was a little thick which made application difficult, but nothing I couldn't manage =) 1st coat was really streaky but a thick 2nd coat evens it out. Below is 2 coats and it dried to a high glossy finish.

I couldn't leave it at that so I decided to matte-ify the tips using Essie Matte About You. I'm loving the matte french look! How about you?

Apologies for the unimaginative title! My NOTD today is using Sinful Colors Scandal which I hauled a while ago (see my previous post here). It’s a cute hot pink colour which unfortunately I forgot to take a photo before Konad-ing but you get the picture. Scandal was kind of a pain to apply because if you have too much loaded onto the brush a great big bead of polish comes gusingh down and floods the entire nail. It wasn’t too bad though having said that and above is 2 coats with full nail pattern using Konad plate m71 with Konad Special black polish.


I then just HAD to try out my Essie Matte About You which is a fantastic topcoat because it just dries so darn FAST! Which is great for me because you may have noticed that I’m not very patient when it comes to waiting for coats to dry =p


I think I prefer this particular manicure glossy but oh well! Thanks for looking =)
