What's In-die Box? December 2014 Aussie Christmas

Hellooooooooo everyone! Hope you all had a fab Christmas! What did you all get up to? I had a super quiet one this year. The hubby and I spent time with our families and then all we've done since then is mainly eat! Sooooo bad. I've had a few days off work so I took the chance to catch up on some blogging. Today I have swatches from the December 2014 Aussie Christmas What's In-die Box? featuring Glam Polish, Glittering Elements, Lilypad Lacquer, Peita's Polish and McKfresh Nail Attire lacquers. I was sent last years What's In-die Box Christmas box and I really enjoyed it so I thought I'd treat myself to this years December box. I haven't hauled polish in a while so I was excited for the box to arrive!

If you haven't heard of What's In-die Box?, it's a monthly nail polish box that contains 5 exclusive Aussie indie shades with a different theme for each month. The inspiration for this months box was an Aussie Christmas and I think the box pretty accurately reflects the theme!

What's In-Die box December 2013 swatches and review

Helloooooooooo everyone!! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!! What did you guys get up to? We celebrated Christmas early with my in-laws and then spent Christmas Day with my family and basically I've done not much but just eat and eat and EAT xp I feel like a beached whale haha! It was so nice to just relax and spend some time with the hubby enjoying our first Christmas as a married couple so I pretty much neglected all emails and the blog and even my nails oops. I only did 2 Xmas manis doh! But today I have my swatches and review of some very Christmas-y polishes from the December 2013 What's In-Die box.

So What's In-die Box? It's Australia's first indie nail polish box and it's coordinated by Peita from Peita's Polish. Each month you receive a themed box of 5 indie polishes from 5 different Aussie indie makers and each month the theme changes. December's theme was "The Festive Season" and full of sparkly goodness! The polishes came very carefully wrapped and included a lovely Xmas card, some candy canes and also some pink jelly beans. A very thoughtful touch!

Lynnderella Ruby Passion

ARGH it feels like ages since I last posted!! I have so much to show you guys but I have writer's block - I've prepped all these photos for posts but the words that go with them just aren't coming to me! DOH. Today I have some quick swatches of Lynnderella Ruby Passion which is another gorgeous glitter from the Talismans and Birthstones collection.

 photo IMG_4980copy_zpsdcefe48a.png

Ruby Passion (July) is made up of different sized square, hex, diamond and round magenta, red, purple and rose glitters in a pink-shimmered clear base.

Because there are quite a few larger sized glitters in it I was pleasantly surprised at how well it applied. Coverage was good and the glitters applied evenly on the nail. I love the colours in Ruby Passion and I think I'll use it over a lighter base next time - like a white or pink creme so the glitters stand out more. I used 2 coats over 2 coats of Kester Black Poppy.

Lynnderella Aquamarine Calm

Hi ladies! Can you believe the weekend is over already?! 2 days off is never enough! I thought I'd start the week off with some glitter because glitter instantly makes things better xp If you've been reading my blog for awhile now you'll know how much I absolutely adore Lynnderella polishes!! I was kindly sent some new Lynnderella's to try out recently and I'll be sharing my swatches with you over the coming weeks! Today I have Aquamarine Calm for you from the Talismans and Birthstones collection =)

 photo IMG_4913copy_zps294bbc71.png

Aquamarine Calm contains a mix of light cyan hex, diamond and square glitters with a smattering of holographic silver star and half moon glitter in a turquoise shimmer base.

 photo IMG_4917copy_zpsde97c6f7.png

Isn't it just gorgeous!! I love the different sized glitters in the shimmer base and I'm just a sucker for cyan/turquoise/teal glitters lol. I found it a bit difficult to get the half moons and stars onto the nail but overall it applied pretty well. I used 2 coats of Aquamarine Calm over 2 coats of Kester Black Blueberry Tart topped with Seche Vite.

a-england Holy Grail

Hi ladies! Just some quick swatches today of the original a-england Holy Grail which I hauled a little while ago. I saw lovely Sam's re-swatch of it and I just had to get it!! It is a STUNNING gold but unfortunately I don't think it works with my skintone. Nonetheless I shall be rocking it anyway because that's just how I roll HAHA. There's a new version of Holy Grail out now and I think I might need that too..

Photobucket

Holy Grail is a beautiful warm gold with bronze shimmer through it. Just beautiful! Application was a breeze and the brush was fantastic to use. 2 coats is pictured
