Review: Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo

Last week was freezing here in Sydney and weak old me managed to get sick =( I try not to wash my hair too much in the colder months and especially when I'm sick so I rely heavily on dry shampoo to get me between washes. I've tried and tested lots of brands over the years but I always come back to Batiste - I love their cute packaging and that they have so many different scents to choose from! One of their new products is Cherry dry shampoo and I'm loving it!

 photo IMG_4516copy_zps51fba127.png

How adorable is the cherry packaging!! The cherry scent smells fantastic (good enough to eat!) but isn't overpowering which is great. It works like all the other Batiste shampoos so a quick spritz onto the roots, a good massage through with the fingertips and you are good to go. My hair looks really greasy and disgusting when it gets oily and the Batiste Cherry dry shampoo absorbs the oil leaving my hair feeling and looking clean. I didn't find it gave me much volume or texture though so that's the only downfall for me. I loved that it didn't leave too much white residue on my black hair compared with other Batiste dry shampoos though.

 photo IMG_4522copy_zpsd47d8672.png

Overall: I'll definitely be purchasing it when I run out! I love the scent and it kept my hair fresh and clean for the day. I love that it comes in a small handbag size and the larger 200ml can!

Details: The Batiste Cherry dry shampoo is available from Priceline, Coles, Woolworths, David Jones and leading pharmacies nationally for $4.95 for 50ml and $9.95 for 200mls can. Check out other details on their site.

What's your favourite dry shampoo? Thanks for looking as always!

Review: ghd air professional hairdryer

Wouldn't it be awesome to be one of those girls who just tumbles out of bed with perfect hair every morning? Sadly I am not one of those girls and I need help in the styling department! Luckily with the help of the recently released ghd air professional hairdryer it's easy and quick to do!

What they say:

"Established as a professional stylists’ must have styling tool for over 10 years, ghd has revolutionised the way in which we style our hair. Now ghd, the world’s leading luxury haircare brand brings you its first salon strength hairdryer that will blow you away - ghd air.

ghd CEO Paul Stoneham says: ‘We’re extremely proud to be launching ghd air, especially in our 10th anniversary year. An incredible amount of research, development and testing has gone into producing such a high caliber, salon strength hairdryer. ghd air will leave consumers literally blown away”."

I was sent the ghd air professional hairdryer to try recently and I've been using it over the last few weeks with great results. It features a professional (and powerful!) 2,100 Watt AC motor and uses advanced ionic technology to reduce frizz for a smoother and softer finish.

The ghd air includes the lightweight dryer and also two concentrator nozzles to create different styles. Because my hair is so thick I tend to just use the larger nozzle though. The dryer has an ergonomic design for easy handling and maximum control.

It has variable temperature and power controls and a cool shot button for a blast of cool air to fix your hair in place!

Overall: I am loving the ghd air professional hairdryer! My hair is long and thick and even in Summer I rarely let it air dry so I spend quite a bit of time blow drying my hair. The ghd air cuts down significantly on dry time for me which is absolutely fantastic - from a minumum of 15mins down to probably about 5 mins. Time is precious for me and a saving of 10mins is HUGE especially in the morning! I get a bit of frizz plus flyaways and my hair looks and feels smoother after using the ghd air.

Like all ghd products, the design of the ghd air is very sexy and sleek! It's easy to handle making it easy to use in both the right and left hand. It's quite light as well and is much lighter than my current hair dryer and also much quieter too. This is very handy when I either wash my hair late at night or 1st thing in the morning because both times are when my family don't like to be woken up by a noisy hair appliance!

With a RRP of $199.95 it's pricier than your standard hair dryer. However it's not too far off a Parlux hairdryer which I've been considering purchasing for quite some time now as it has a professional motor too and also cuts down on dry time. The main thing is you pay for what you get and you have to pay for quality. I use my hair dryer LOTS more than my ghd hair straightener which I paid more than $200 for so the ghd air professional hairdryer is a worthy investment in my book.

Details: The ghd air professional hairdryer can be purchased from ghd Australia and all good hair salons for $199.95. Shipping is free in Australia!

Schwarzkopf 's Stylin' Partnership!

Hi ladies! Now I don't normally post this kind of thing but I thought my Aussie ladies would be interested in a very cool competition courtesy of the awesome guys over at Schwarzkopf.

Photobucket

Is your boyfriend an understyler, waking up in the morning with bed head that remains all day? Or do you know a guy who’s the typical ‘overstyler’, curling and coiffing his hair in to a rigid structure?

Our Schwarzkopf Style Ninja’s are ready to knock some hair-sense into males across the country and they are armed with new TAFT Full-On Rough and Tough Styling Powder – a revolutionary product that becomes invisible in seconds and instantly texturises and mattifies hair with ultra control!

If you know a guy in need of a style intervention – dob him in today! OR dob in yourself to WIN!!!

Simply log on to the Schwarzkopf Australia Facebook to enter!

THE PRIZE?
Four winners and their +1’s have the chance to win the prize of a lifetime – a day with the gorgeous Erin McNaught and our Style Ninjas as they stage a complete style intervention!

You’ll receive complimentary return flights to Sydney, a night in a cool city hotel, an appearance on MTV and a Taft Full On gift pack to take home. Competition closes July 30th.

D happens to really fancy Erin McNaught and I'm sure he would like to enter the competition but I think he's worried I'll go into a jealous rage when he drools over her if we win shy so we won't be entering. He actually met her a few years back at some IT convention and has a photo with her but he won't give it to me to put on my blog for this post!!! xp I think she's gorgeous and I would love to meet her and find out her beauty and hair secrets!

Good luck if you enter!!

I am not affiliated with/compensated by the company. This post is for information purposes only. I love letting you guys know about great competitions and offers!

Review: Activance hair stimulant

Hi ladies! I have for you today a review on a product I have been using almost every day for the last 2 months with great results but have been so bad to not review earlier! My hair has never been perfect and now that I get foils regularly it's not in the best condition unfortunately. Besides frizziness I had absolutely TERRIBLE hair fall out. My hairdresser always tells me that it's natural to lose about 100 hairs a day but I definitely lost a lot more. After I wash my hair I'd pull out strands of hair and I'd need to vacuum my bathroom at least once every two days due to all the hairs on the floor! So when I was offered the chance to try Activancet hair stimulant I jumped at the opportunity.

Activance

What they say:

"The latest development in hair cosmeceuticals, this is the only stabilised hair treatment in the world that contains the vital nutrient Rhodanide found in egg yolks. Activance both prevents and helps to remedy the problems of thinning and damaged hair.. it treats the damage caused by everyday colouring and styling, allowing you to love the latest hairstyles while keeping your hair healthy and full."

Activance works by boosting Rhodanide levels in your hair which are constantly depleted by washing, blow drying, chemical treatments, stress, health, drugs and medicines, age and environmental factors. It does this by increasing hair moisture by 50% and strengthening your hair and improving hair growth, volume, shine, elasticity, strength and manageability.

It comes in a handy spray bottle and the clear all-in-one leave in formula is non-sticky (I really don't like when a product leaves my hair sticky!) which is great. It smells lovely and can be used on both washed and unwashed hair. I usually wash and towel dry my hair and since I have long hair I use about 10 sprays and then massage it in.

Photobucket

Overall: After using Activance for over 2 months, my hair feels and looks noticeably healthier and stronger and is less frizzy. Most importantly for me I've experienced much less hair loss. Of course I still lose hairs but it's nowhere near as many as I used to!! With continued use as well I'm hoping my hair loss will continue to reduce. I noticed a difference in my hair after only a few short weeks of use too.

The price may be a tad on the pricey side for some however the bottle should last a long time as you don't need that many sprays per application and is well worth the price in my opinion.

Would I repurchase: A product that will help reduce my hair fall out? HECK YES I'll be repurchasing!!

Details: Activance retails for $55 for a 200ml bottle and is available Australia wide. Visit the Activance website or call (03) 9326 8844 for your local stockists.

A big thank you to Camilla for sending me the above product to sample! I was sent the above product for my consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion.

Thanks for looking!!

New hair colour

Hey ladies!
This is just a quick post about my new colour. I got my hair cut and coloured on Wednesday night even though I should have been doing readings doh! I never really get anything new with my cut, just a regular trim and reshaping of my layers. I've been going to my hairdresser for something like 10yrs now and she just knows I'll say "just a trim and reshape the fringe" LOL which is why I play around with my colours.

Photobucket

I get 1/2 a head of foils and lately I've been sporting copper and red foils but this time I went for a lighter brown.

Photobucket
Sorry for the dodgy photo!! Can you see the lighter foils on top?

I'm loving it =)

I'll post more over the weekend as I just recieved my Konad haul from wowsocool.com!
