Kester Black Trophy Wife '14 nail polish set - Sugar Daddy and Prenup swatches and review
Kester Black and Trophy Wife released their new collaboration shades last week so I thought it was about bloody time I showed you last years set - Sugar Daddy and Prenup! I've had this post sitting in my drafts for so long I completely forgot about it. Oops! The polishes are too awesome not to share so some quick swatches and my review for you (finally) are below.

Easter manicure
Happy Easter everyone! I haven't been in the mood for nails or blogging lately and I finally feel like getting back in to it so I'm back today with my Easter mani. The best thing about Easter manis is the excuse to break out the pastels! Not that one really needs any excuse for them haha. I'm pretty happy with how my nails turned out so I think I've got my mojo back!

Here's what I used:

Thumbs: I used 2 coats of Orly Snowcone as my base. For the grass I applied thin stripes of China Glaze Entourage and Nail Star two way nail art pen & brush in Green and created clouds using Cult Nails Tempest and a medium dotting tool. I finished it off by adding butterfly and dragonfly fimo.

Index finger: I used 3 coats of Models Own Speckled Eggs Dove which was a birthday present from my lovely friend Aysh. It's such a great pink and speckled polishes are so darn cute!
Middle finger: I used 2 coats of Cult Nails Tempest and freehanded the carrots using Bloom Bettina I and Kester Black Peach Melba*. For the leaves I used Revlon Parfumerie Lime Basil.

Ring finger: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Lemon Fizz and Cult Nails Tempest for the polka dots.
Pinky: I used 2 coats of Barry M Gelly and made a decal using bunny design from Bundle Monster plate BM-H10 using Konad Special Polish in white and filled in the ears using Kester Black Lilac and the eye with Cult Nails Nevermore.

I hope you're all having a lovely Easter! What are you all up to this long weekend? I've done nothing but eat so far haha. Thanks for looking as always!

Pyramid point studded nails
I've been lazy over the last fortnight to paint my nails so it was time for some easy nail art with these pyramid point studded nails. I used 2 coats of Kester Black Violet (swatched here) and freehanded the triangles using Kiss Nail Art Striper in black and added a small round gold stud to the top of the triangle.

Hope you've all had a great weekend!

Cloud manicure
After swatching the I Scream Nails polishes I showed you yesterday, I had to do a bit of nail art with them. I love cloud manis as it’s sooooo simple to do you just can't go wrong!

I used 2 coats of I Scream Nails Blue Heaven* and a medium dotting tool to create clouds using Kester Black French White* and topped it off with a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat. My top coat dragged the design a little but real clouds are wispy so it works!

Have you tried a cloud mani before? Thanks for looking!

Acid black distressed manicure
I'm in a nail art rut at the moment so I'm going back to basics - nail art doesn't have to be complicated and I tend to over think it sometimes. I thought I'd finally try out a distressed mani using 2 favourite Kester Black shades. I used 2 coats of Kester Black Acid and then applied Black Rose by wiping most of the polish off the brush and applying uneven strokes to the nail. So easy to do and I think it looks pretty good! I think I'll be more adventurous next time and use a few more colours though.

Thanks for looking as always!

Kester Black Summer 2014/15 collection swatches and review
If you've been following me for a while you'll know that I absolutely adore Kester Black lacquers. It's one of my favourite Aussie brands and I've featured the shades in quite a few of my posts! In August they released 4 new shades for Summer 2014/15 so of course I added them all to my collection. I also picked up some other new shades which I'll share swatches of later.
It's taken me FOREVER to get these swatched but hey life gets in the way unfortunately. These fun bright shades are 5 free as always (meaning no nasty Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde, Formeheldyde Resin and Camphor), carcinogen free and are Australian made and owned and accredited Cruelty-Free.

What they say:
"The new collection is bold and eclectic, failing to represent any singular idea. For this reason the range will be left untitled, left to the interpretation of our audience. From neon yellow and fuschia purple to soft peach and pale blue, this range is designed to offer something for every mood and desire the warmer months might bring."

Beach manicure
It is swelteringly hot here in Sydney at the moment and it's not even summer yet. Our place doesn't have air conditioning so I've been hiding out with all the blinds closed when not at work haha. With that in mind I thought it was time for a summery mani to go with the weather and what better way than with a beach manicure! It was a bit of a fail though because my top coat bubbled but I guess it unintentionally adds to the beach and sea theme so let's just say I did it intentionally ok!

I started off with 2 coats of Kester Black Blueberry Tart* (you can see my swatch of it here) as my base and then sponged OPI Glitzerland to the base of each nail for the sand. I then stamped wave design from Bundle Monster BM-509 using Konad Special polish in white and added a coat of China Glaze Snow Globe. To finish it off I added a gold shell stud and some different sized pearls.

What do you think of my beach mani? Hope you're all having a fab weekend and for the Aussie girls that you stay cool! Thanks for looking as always!

Drippy ice cream nails
My eczema and contact dermatitis have been playing up so badly this winter that I've had to sport naked nails most of the time since coming home from warm Europe and HK unfortunately. But naked nails make for a sad 'chelle so I had to brave some nail art! I've been following a heap of celeb nail artists on Instagram and one of my faves is Steph Stone Nails and I couldn't go past her adorable summer drippy ice cream nails. I absolutely LOVE drippy nails and I've done them quite a few times but it was time for a proper ice cream looking mani! I followed her tutorial to create them but my version doesn't look anywhere near as polished obviously. Please excuse my terribly haggard looking hands and cuticles!

I started off with 2 coats of Kester Black Butter Cream* as my base for all nails except my accent nails where I used 3 coats of Etude House Dear My Party Nails PPK001 and added criss cross lines using Hello Darling Say No To Cameltoe using a striper brush. For the ice cream drips I decided to go colourful and I used Kester Black Fairy Floss* for my pinky, Hello Darling Ganache for my middle fingers and Cult Nails Tempest for my index fingers.

For my thumbs I used Hello Darling Mint Slice* for the ice cream drip and I used a large dotting tool and OPI Big Apple Red* to create the cherries. For the sprinkles I used China Glaze Tart-y for the Party, Keep Calm, Paint On and Life is Rosy and Models Own nail art pens in yellow and blue.

I love a bit of summer during winter and who doesn't enjoy ice cream in the cooler months?!! What do you think? Thanks for looking as always!

Birthday manicure
Soooooo I am officially another year older! Not sure if I'm really wiser though haha. I got spoiled by the hubby this weekend and had a lovely lunch in the mountains and basically spent most of the time eating! I did a simple birthday mani because I had no idea what I wanted but had to have some gold glitter in the mix!

What I used:
Pinky: 2 coats of Cult Nails Tempest and added bunting using Bundle Monster BM-H19 using China Glaze Passion.
Ring finger: I used 2 coats of Kester Black Fairy Floss* and created the chevrons using Nail Vinyls and Face of Australia Midnight Fireworks*.
Middle finger: I used 1 coat of Face of Australia Calypso Gold* and 2 coats of Models Own Gold Finger.
Index finger: I used 2 coats of Cult Nails Tempest and sponged Kester Black Fairy Floss* to the tip for a subtle fade.

Thumb: I used 2 coats of Kester Black Fairy Floss* and stamped balloon design from Bundle Monster BM-H20 using China Glaze Passion.

I have a love hate relationship with birthdays - I love the fun aspect of them but the whole growing older thing not so much haha. What do you guys get up to on your birthdays?
I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Thanks for looking as always =)

Halloween drip manicure
I've been so uninspired lately. October is usually a great month because there's pink and Halloween manis to do but I haven't been in the mood to try out anything doh. I did manage to do a quick Halloween drip mani the other day though which I always love doing and always work!!

For my pinky I used 2 coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle and dripped essence You've Got the Art; for my ring finger I used 1 coat of Kester Black Cherry Pie* and Cult Nails Nevermore for the drips; for my middle finger I used 2 coats of China Glaze Roguish Red and China Glaze Happy Go Lucky for the drips and for my index finger I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Mint Apple and China Glaze Grape Pop for the drips.

For my thumb I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and Kester Black Cherry Pie* for the drips. I think my fave colour combo is my pinky as it looks like slime!

What do you do when you're uninspired? I hate being in a rut and it seems to always happen!

Lynnderella Angel Whisper
Happy Sunday! Today I have my last Lynnderella glitter for you =) Today's glitter is the very pretty Angel Whisper which is from the Mixed Feelings collection.

Angel Whisper contains different sized translucent hex, heart and half moon white glitters in a clear base packed with shimmer.

Angel Whisper applied really well and I think it would be perfect for a white Christmas type of mani. Here
I've used 2 coats over 2 coats of Kester Black Peach Melba. Peach isn't really the best shade to layer it over to show it to its full potential so I'll probably use it over a dark blue or green next time.

Close up:

Details: Lynnderella polishes can be purchased from Glitter Connect for $24.95 for Aussie ladies (make sure you like the Glitter Connect Facebook page!), Lynnderella.com for US ladies and Norway Nails for European ladies.

You can check out my other Lynnderella swatches here!! Thanks for looking as always!

Kester Black Winter Garden collection swatches and review
Hi ladies! A few weeks back Anna from Aussie brand Kester Black very kindly got in touch to see if I would like to try out her polishes. I've been admiring her polishes for quite some time having come across the brand from seeing the polishes used by Trophy Wife Nail Art so I was super super excited to try them out! Today I'm very excited to (finally!) share with you my swatches and review of the gorgeous Winter Garden collection. It's taken me sooooooo long to swatch all the polishes unfortunately but I'm finally done! The lighting in my pics varies because I had to swatch the collection over quite a few days.

Lynnderella Ruby Passion
ARGH it feels like ages since I last posted!! I have so much to show you guys but I have writer's block - I've prepped all these photos for posts but the words that go with them just aren't coming to me! DOH. Today I have some quick swatches of Lynnderella Ruby Passion which is another gorgeous glitter from the Talismans and Birthstones collection.

Ruby Passion (July) is made up of different sized square, hex, diamond and round magenta, red, purple and rose glitters in a pink-shimmered clear base.

Because there are quite a few larger sized glitters in it I was pleasantly surprised at how well it applied. Coverage was good and the glitters applied evenly on the nail. I love the colours in Ruby Passion and I think I'll use it over a lighter base next time - like a white or pink creme so the glitters stand out more. I used 2 coats over 2 coats of Kester Black Poppy.
