Purple holo glitter gradient manicure
Geez this year is going by waaaaaaaay too quickly for my liking. Work, wedding planning and general exhaustion have taken over my life lately leaving little time for blogging unfortunately. I'm back today with a quick glitter gradient mani I did a while back using Glitter Gal Crushed Ego and Imogen.
I used 2 coats of Crushed Ego and 2 coats of Imogen at the tips. I loved wearing this combo and I didn't want to take it off! With topcoat, Crushed Ego loses some of it's holo-ness and gets this almost glowing duochrome effect. It's very cool!

I've lost my blogging mojo so please bear with me while I try and locate it x) Thanks for looking as always!
The products featured in this post were provided to me for consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion. My Disclosure Policy can be viewed here.

Glitter Gal Glitter Effects collection swatches and review
As you all may know I ADORE glitter polishes even though they're a pain to remove! One can never have enough glitter I say so I was very excited to hear that one of my favourite Aussie brands Glitter Gal were releasing glitters to their range of polishes. The Glitter Effects collection consists of 4 fun glitters and are Big 3 Free. I was so honored when Anna and Kerry asked me again to help swatch their new collection! They are super fun and I think you'll all enjoy them as much as I do =) WARNING: Picture heavy!

On to the swatches!

Glitter Gal Crushed Ego
Another week another awesome Glitter Gal holographic! Today I have a quick swatch of the new Crushed Ego which is out now. It replaces their old dark purple holographic Bruised Ego and let me tell you it is a BEAUTY!! I didn't want to take it off when I swatched it so I had to wear it as a full mani x)

Crushed Ego is a beautiful deep eggplant purple. I love these deep shades of purple so much! The holo effect is fantastic and application was a breeze. 2 coats is pictured.

Artficial light:

Details: Glitter Gal holographics can be purchased online from glittergal.com.au and their stockists (full list here) for $11.95 for 10ml bottles and $17.95 for 15ml bottles. You can check out my swatches and review of the other new holographic shades here.
I have my swatches and review of the next 2 amazing Glitter Gal collections coming up shortly so make sure to check back! Thanks for looking as always =)

Black and nude filigree manicure
I saw this fabulous NOTD on instagram last week by the super duper talented Deniz and I just had to do my own version. She is so freaking talented and I love seeing her beautiful manis! Her stamped manis especially are just amazing. I didn't feel like coral so I went with my favourite nude creme for accents. I don't know if the design really looks like filigree but hey that's what I'm going with!

I used 2 coats of Glitter Gal Serpent Black* on my index, middle and pinky. On my thumb and ring finger I used 2 coats of Bloom Toni* and stamped filigree-looking design from Bundle Monster plate BM-214 using Konad Special stamping polish in black. I then added some small black studs. I had to stamp the design twice because I messed up the 1st time!

Bloom Toni has to be my absolute favourite nude creme and it's so typical that it's a LE product and it's only a mini size!! Toni is my mannequin nails shade and I love just how elegant it is.

I hope you've all been well! Can you believe it's September already???! Only 3 months until Christmas.. scary! Thanks for looking as always =)

NEW Glitter Gal holographics swatches and review
I am so excited today to share my swatches and review of 9 NEW holographic shades from Aussie brand Glitter Gal which will be released later this week. SQUEEE! Holographic polishes make me weak at the knees and these are no exception. The polishes have a new updated formula and as always are 3 Free meaning they contain NO Formaldehyde, NO DBP and NO Toluene. The polishes consist of 7 linear holographic shades and 2 creme holographic shades (like Ballerina and Light as a Feather).
Warning: this post is PIC HEAVY! For reference 2 coats is pictured for all polishes with no top coat. I did 1 thin coat followed by a thicker 2nd coat.

Due to customer feedback, Anna and Kerry have updated from 9ml bottles to a larger 10ml bottle size and it will be priced exactly the same too! I love when a brand listens to their customers and accommodates their wishes. Here's a comparison pic of the new and old bottles:

New 10ml size on the left and old 9ml size on the right.

Deborah Lippmann Forget You
A quick NOTD for you today using Deborah Lippmann Forget You. My sis gave me the Get This Party Started set for Christmas last year and gosh I love the polishes so much!! Actually I love all my Lippmann's equally haha xp

Forget You contains the same amazing glitter that's in Happy Birthday but in a black base. I used 2 coats over 1 coat of Glitter Gal Serpent Black*. Utter perfection and party time on my nails! It's going to be fun (NOT) removing it but oh well.. well worth it!

Close up:

I am dying to get my hands on her new glitter Let's Go Crazy but alas the wallet says no =( Thanks for looking as always ladies! =)

Snow White and the Huntsman manicure
Happy Monday ladies! I hope you've all had a good start to the week =) Yesterday I watched Snow White and the Huntsman with 2 of my lovely girlfriends so I thought I would do a Snow White inspired mani. But it was a massive fail because I didn't know what I wanted to do for each nail and I don't think it gelled properly! ARGH. I hate when that happens. My photos suck as well because my heart wasn't into this mani doh.

What I used:

Pinky: I used 2 coats of BYS Astro Gold and 2 coats of Sephora by OPI Only Gold for Me top coat.
Ring finger: I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and used a small brush to freehand the bitten apple using China Glaze Phat Santa, Ulta 3 chocolate cake for the leaf and a green rhinestone for the apple.
Middle finger: I took inspiration from this movie poster and created a gradient nail using BYS Astro Gold, Tom Ford Silver Smoke and China Glaze Jolly Holly.
Index finger: I used 1 coat of Rescue Beauty Lounge Concrete Jungle and stamped the gold crown image from Bundle Monster plate BM08 using China Glaze Passion.

Thumb: I used 2 coats of Glitter Gal Serpent Black* as a black base. For the axe I used a small brush to freehand using China Glaze Devotion for the blade and Essie Brooch the Subject* for the handle with Essie Hot Coco* for the darker wood accents.

I instagrammed this pic on Saturday night halfway through my mani and I thought I'd post it here too xp I like to have everything in reach when I'm doing my mani so my supplies take up about 1/3 of my desk. My routine is to turn on a good DVD and relax while doing my mani!

Have you seen Snow White and the Huntsman? I really enjoyed it and Kirsten Stewart didn't annoy me as much as I thought she would lol. Lots of decent action scenes and a bit of eye candy too!
Thanks for looking as always =)

Pretty in purple manicure
As you may know I do love my pastels/bows/polka dots and I haven't done a "girlie" mani in AGES so I made time to do one the other night ;) Only problem is I never know what to name these types of manicures each time I do one! Any suggestions?

What I used:
Pinky: 3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow as base colour, I then stamped diagonal full image from Konad plate m65 using China Glaze Millenium.
Ring finger: 2 coats of China Glaze Light as Air and 2 coats of Lynnderella Nosegay. I saw this combo over on The Polish Well and knew I had to try my bottle out ASAP with the combo. (I DO NOT CARE FOR THE LYNNDERELLA DRAMA BTW).
Middle finger: 3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow as base, I then stamped bow image from Konad plate m59 using China Glaze Harmony and added a silver rhinestone.
Index finger: 2 coats of China Glaze Light as Air, I then stamped full polka dot image from Konad plate m79 using Konad Special polish in black
Thumb: 2 coats of Glitter Gal Serpent Black and 1 coat of Essie Luxeffects Set in Stones.

My photos are too yellow here but oh well. I just don't get enough time in to take photos in natural light especially during winter! I really should look into a lightbox but the problem is a) I have no where to put it, b) I'm lazy to make one and c) I'm too cheap to buy one haha!
Hope you like this mani =) Thanks for looking!

Glitter Gal Serpent Black
Here's my quick swatches of Glitter Gal Serpent Black for you as promised. I layered the amazing Duo Chromes I showed you yesterday over this gorgeous black.

Serpent Black is a super black jelly and creme hybrid. It's not quite either one! It is VERY glossy and dries extremely quickly which is fantastic. I used 2 thinnish coats for opacity which is pictured here. You could probably get away with 1 thick coat actually!

Details: Glitter Gal Serpent Black can be purchased from glittergal.com.au for $14.95.

Glitter Gal Duo Chromes collection swatches and review
Today I am so excited to show you my swatches and review of the brand new Glitter Gal Duo Chromes collection which is released today. I have been a fan of Glitter Gal polishes since I began my nail addiction so you can imagine just how honored I was when lovely Kerry and Anna asked me to help them swatch the collection for them!
The Duo Chromes collection is 5 Free which means they contain NO Formaldehyde, NO DBP, NO Toluene, NO Formaldehyde Resin and NO Camphor which is absolutely fantastic. For reference I've swatched the collection over 2 thin coats of Glitter Gal Serpent Black with no top coat.

What they say:
"Multi-dimensional metallic special effect nail polish which shows a “Metallic Chrome” like finish which changes colour when viewed from different angles. They can be worn by themselves for a soft look or for a more dynamic strong look layer over Serpent Black for a full Metallic appeal. They're Gem Stone Top coat compatible if you wish but not necessary."

Glitter Gal 3D Holographic Lizard Belly
Hi ladies! I have a quick swatch for you of one of the new Glitter Gal polishes I hauled a little while ago. Kerry and Anna released three new polishes in their 3D Holographic range a little while ago and of course I just had to have them x) A few clicks later and three little beauties were in my hot little hands! Today I have Lizard Belly for you.

Lizard Belly is a very dark green almost black linear holographic polish. It's so awesome!! I'm going to sound like a broken record but as with other Glitter Gal polishes it's very opaque and it applied flawlessly. I did 2 coats out of habit which is pictured with no topcoat. It dried quickly to a very glossy finish.

Close up:

LOOK AT THAT HOLO GOODNESS!!!!!! It almost looks fake!

In artificial light and blurred:

You can purchase Glitter Gal polishes from the Glitter Gal online store for $11.95. You can see a full list of international stockists here.
What do you think of this dark green holo? Thanks for looking as always! =)

Glitter Gal 3D Holographic Purple
Today I have for you another awesome Glitter Gal 3D Holographic polish which is the last of the Glitter Gal polishes I hauled last year. I can't believe it took me so long to try out considering I LOVE purple!

Purple is another polish from Glitter Gal's 3D Holographic range. It's a wonderful glitter packed dark purple holographic that comes into it's own when it hits the sun. Purple + holo = WINNING in my book! Haha. In real life the colour is somewhat darker than what is shown in my pictures but it appears lighter in the sun.
Application was OK - the formula was a tiny bit thick but still easy to apply! I didn't get any balding or streaks even though I used basecoat. It applied smoothly and was opaque in 2 coats which is pictured, no topcoat needed for a glossy finish! The brush in my bottle is one of the older ones so it's a little smaller and more difficult to use than the brush of Marine Blue.

Glitter Gal 3D holographic nail polishes can be purchased from their online store or selected stockists for $11.95. They also ship internationally so my international readers don't miss out!
What do you think of Glitter Gal 3D holographic Purple? Do you have a favourite purple holo?
You could win your very own bottle and another colour of your choice in my Glitter Gal giveaway! Thanks for looking =)

Glitter Gal 3D holographic Marine Blue NOTD
Today I have for you an awesome holographic polish from Aussie company Glitter Gal who I’ve featured before on my blog. Glitter Gal are Australian and is run by 2 lovely ladies Kerry and Anna. They are most well known for their fabulous holographic polishes which are made using “true” holographic particles which many other companies don't use as they are very expensive. Their huge range contains 27 holos and 300 salon colours and are Big 3 which is fantastic! I’ve reviewed Not Another Red and Ballerina from from their 3D holographic range before which you can take a look at. I was kindly sent a bottle of Glitter Gal 3D Holographic in Marine Blue to sample which I have been wanting to try for a while!

Marine Blue from the 3D holographic range is a dark blue linear holographic polish. It’s an absolutely gorgeous dark blue and I don’t have a holo that’s similar in my collection so I’m very happy to own it. I was lucky to be able to catch the sun so I was able to enjoy it in all it's holo glory! Marine Blue applied very smoothly and was opaque in just 1 coat however I did 2 out of habit which is pictured. For reference, I swatched these with no topcoat but I did use basecoat as I didn't want to risk staining my nails. There was no balding even though I used basecoat which is fantastic! I found the brush easy to use and comparing it to the brushes of the bottles I purchased myself last year, the brush of this is larger. It dried quickly to a very glossy finish.

In artificial light:

Close-up:

I had mixed results with Glitter Gal polishes in the past - I loved Not Another Red but Ballerina was disappointing for me in terms of formula and holo - however I'm very glad to tell you I didn't experience any of the issues I had previously. I really like the larger brush as it made application SO much easier and the formula of Marine Blue was excellent. I really love the holo-ness of it too!

Glitter Gal 3D holographic nail polishes can be purchased from their online store or selected stockists for $11.95. They ship internationally too!
A big thank you to Kerry for sending me the above polish to sample! I was sent the above product for my consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion.
What do you think of Glitter Gal Marine Blue? A giveaway featuring awesome Glitter Gal polishes will be up soon so stay tuned!

Glitter Gal 3D holographic Not Another Red NOTD
My gosh time is just running away from me! I leave for HK next week and there's just so much to do before I go and not enough time as always. I have had weddings, engagement parties to attend and most exciting of all the boy's sister in law had a little baby girl! I spent ages cooing over the newest addition to his family =) Also had to play with his 2 and half year old niece who was becoming jealous of all the attention on her baby sister lol.
Today I have for you a super quick NOTD using another holo polish by Aussie brand Glitter Gal. I was a little disappointed with the 1st one I tried here and was hoping I would have a better experience this time. So how did I go this time round? Read on to find out!

I'm happy to say that I was so much more pleased this time! Not Another Red is a red holo with a lovely rainbow sparkle and is very pretty. It applied very smoothly and easily and the tiny brush was much more manageable 2nd time around. The polish is SUPER pigmented and 1 coat would have been enough but I wanted a deeper red so did 2 which is pictured below. All photos have no topcoat by the way. The polish dried quickly and lasted a good 2 and a bit days without topcoat and lots of wear and tear at work.

It’s one of those polishes that looks different in different lighting – sometimes it’s more of a pinky red and other times its a very intense red.

I find the Glitter Gal holos seem to be more a little more subtle than other brands I’ve tried but this is different to other swatches and posts I’ve seen. Maybe I got a different batch..? Anyway, it’s still a lovely polish however I just wish it was more in your face holo! You can purchase Glitter Gal polishes from their website .
Thanks for looking!
