Valentines Day manicure

Hi ladies! Just a super quick post to show you my very quick Valentines Day manicure. I've been very busy these last few days with work and social events so I haven't had a chance to do much blog stuff or blog reading unfortunately. Haven't really had time to do much including sleep x) I also went for a job interview on Saturday for a 2nd job and was offered the position on the spot! WOOT! They were desperate what can I say haha. It's a casual nurse position mainly for the weekends so with my current fulltime job I'll be working 6-7 days a week soon. This means much less leisure time but enables me to save up for things a lot sooner!

I'm not a big fan of Valentines Day as I think it's turned into such a cheesy holiday to give retailers an excuse to hawk unnecessary items to unwitting men and women in the name of "love". Love should be celebrated and appreciated EVERYDAY not just when Hallmark tells us too! It didn't stop me from still doing a Valentines mani or planning a nice Thai dinner tonight for me and the boy though lol. I was planning to do a soft, pinky manicure as the boy prefers my nails simple but as usual I got carried away!

I started off with 2 coats of Borghese Bellissima Rose. Bellissima Rose is a gorgeous dark berry pink almost red creme. It's a gorgeous colour! The brush was fantastic to use and meant I had very minimal cleanup. The polish is very opaque and 1 thick coat would be sufficient but I did 2. Dry time was good and the polish dried to a very glossy finish.

I then added heart nail stickers, rhinestones, half pearls and dazzlings to complete the look.

My January hauls

Hi ladies! How has your weekend been? It's been absolutely sweltering here in Sydney (30degree+ days and nights OMG!) for the last week so I've been lazy to do much. Here's my hauls for January - you'll see that it's not much as I'm trying to stick to my no-buy and use up beauty products that I already have!

Photobucket

I hauled some jewellery from ekiLove last month. ekiLove is handmade hime and princess themed jewellery by the gorgeous blogger Eki. Everything in her store is so gorgeous and I want it all! Everything came beautifully wrapped and she included some lovely extras and a sweet note =) I bought 2 necklaces and a pair of earrings, all beautifully handmade and look so pretty on. I love every piece and I will definitely be purchasing more! Here's what I got:

Love hearts necklace - "925 sterling silver with 18mm swarovski hearts in Vitrail light and 14mm clear ab heart on sterling silver heart bail on a 925 chain". This is so cute and the purple is just gorgeous =)

Kawaii Bow Necklace - "Rhodium plated pewter bow charm with 925 bail with 14mm swarovski clear AB heart on a 925 chain". This necklace has to be my favourite, the bows and hearts are just so feminine and pretty!

Royal Hime Earring - "made with 18k gold plated crown charm with 14mm heart swarovski clear ab, 8mm swarovski pearl, 6mm top drilled bicone and silver plated bow charm on 925 sterling silver hook". I love crowns as I secretly want to be a princess haha.

I didn't haul much polish during January at all which I'm quite proud of! LOL. I showed you my mini Illamasqua haul already here and I only bought 2 other polishes bringing my total to only 4. The other 2 polishes were Borghese which were a total surprise find from Chemist Warehouse. Chemist Warehouse is such a great place for surprise finds! Who knew they even sold Borghese Down Under. Only 2 colours were available - Chianti Wine and Bellissima Rose but they had PLENTY of stock so go check them out if you want to try them!

What have you hauled this month? Thanks for looking!
