Recent haulage!
Happy weekend everyone!! I'm off to Europe for my honeymoon in less than a week (EEEEK!) so I've been holding off on beauty purchases for quite some time so that I can go crazy over there. But as usual I couldn't resist a few things here and there! I can't go past a good sale ;)

Some gorgeous Hello Darling shades! From L-R: Georgeous, Cakefight, Trophy Wife, Sir English, Ballerina La La and Over topcoat.

Models Own had their awesome 50% off sale a while back so I took the opportunity to stock up on polishes for my kit and also pick up some lemmings! There was no way I was going to let such a good sale go even with the crazy shipping fee. I picked up the entire Hypergel collection and some cremes and glitters.

Illamasqua Raindrops has been on my wishlist ever since I saw swatches of it and I finally picked it up along with Destiny as a birthday pressie to myself! I had Myer vouchers so I only paid $14.50 for them both!

I picked up Revlon Parfumerie shades in Autumn Spice and Lime Basil when Priceline had their last 40% off sale (swatched here) and of course I couldn't go past the Ulta 3 speckled egg collection (swatched here) for Easter.

Chevron nail art is so cute but it's such a hassle with scotch tape I hardly ever do it. I thought I'd try out some Nail Vinyls to make it easier and they are definitely worth the price! I also bought some mini chevron, heart and straight vinyls too.

Bundle Monster had a 20% off sale so I took the chance to add the 2012, 2013 and Holiday plates to my stamping plate collection. It was also time to update my plate storage so I also bought 2 of their pink organisers which are fantastic - I should have upgraded my storage ages ago!!

I had to stock up on my HG makeup remover Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover so I took advantage of the Clinique Valentines Day offer and scored myself a free Chubby Stick in Two Ton Tomato with my order woot!

I hope you liked seeing my recent hauls!! What have you hauled lately?

Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Spanish Rose swatches and review
Last year I got to show you Clinique's Long Last Lipstick in Coral Runway which very quickly because my favourite coral lippie. Not only have Clinique brought back Coral Runway permanently (YIPPEE!) they also released 15 new shades!! I have one of the new shades Spanish Rose to show you today.

What they say:
"Clinique is amping up our Lipstick Line up. It's time to have fun with colour.. adds new lips in reds, pinks, beige and berry. Bright and vampy or soft and sexy we have every look for a perfect pout. Longest-wearing creamy-matte formula. Keeps its just-applied look for hours and hours. Won't feather, creep, stain, or dry out."

Spanish Rose is a beautiful pinkish rose shade. It looks quite dark in the tube but on the lips it's not as frightening for someone like me who doesn't do dark shades too often! It's housed in the signature Clinique silver ribbed casing.

Swatch:

Overall: I love the formula of the Clinique Long Last Lipsticks! They are really moisturising, apply super smoothly and lasts quite a while on me - about 6 hours and wears to a nice stain. The formula is creamy and definitely doesn't dry out or feather just like they say. Spanish Rose is a gorgeous shade and is pretty pigmented so I'd definitely recommend picking one up!
Details: Clinique Long Last Lipsticks are available at Clinqiue counters nationally, Mecca Maxima and www.clinique.com.au for $36.
Thanks for looking as always!

Clinique Chubby Stick in Voluptuous Violet swatches
I LOOOOOOOOOVE Clinique Chubby Sticks so when I went to HK at the end of last year I just had to add another of their shades to my collection. They released 8 new shades in 2012 and I have some quick swatches of Voluptuous Violet for you. You can also check out my full review and swatches of Oversized Orange, Woppin' Watermelon, Super Strawberry, Mega Melon and Whole Lotta Honey.

Voluptuous Violet is a dark violet as the name suggests and looks pretty darn scary in the tube! However, it's very sheer and gives a lovely subtle purple tint to my lips. I love that it's sheer but has enough colour so it's super wearable. I would not be able to pull off proper violet lips haha!

It has the same awesome formula - I really love the balm texture and I find it very moisturising. Of course I couldn't decide which shade to go for but I thought this was the most unique out of the new shades.

Swatch:

Details: The Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are available in 16 shades at Clinique counters nationwide and online at www.clinique.com.au for $35.
They are available for purchase in the US from www.clinique.com for $16US and in Hong Kong from www.clinique.com.hk and Clinique counters for $130HK.

I thought I'd leave you with a pic of my Chubby family!!

What are your favourite Chubby Stick shades? Thanks for looking as always!!

My Hong Kong October 2012 hauls
Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back from my trip! I hope you've all been fab =D 2 weeks seriously is not enough time for a decent holiday, it just went by way too quickly! I spent time with my grandparents and also doing wedding stuff (got so much stuff ordered and organised!) which didn't leave too much time for shopping so my wallet is happy haha. I went over with a specific wishlist as I'm on a tight budget so my haul this time is far less than my usual ones! I have way too many products and I still need to get off my butt and do a blog sale! I bought quite a bit of clothing though this time and also shoes but I can't be bothered taking pics of those oops. Here's my haul!

Polishes!! 3 of the Essie Mirror Metallics, China Glaze Wicked collection and one from the Bohemian collection, innisfree glitters, Deborah Lippmanns, a Jessica and a peripera.

I met up with the lovely Jen as always and she very very kindly gave me a $50 Make Up For Ever voucher! I was only going to get one polish from the Black Tango collection but they were buy 2 get 1 free so of course I couldn't resist and ended up with the whole collection! I also picked up a Aqua Eyes Liner. They are the BEST liners!

Some nail art stuff of course! Fauxnad plates, nail art brushes, nail decals and stickers, fimo, palette and some cabochons.

Yes I indeed did lug home a 1L bottle of Zoya Remove lol. It was on sale and it's so hard to get here! The downfall to polishing my nails all the time is staining so I let myself get talked into getting the Cuccio Sicilian nail whitening paste. Here's hoping it works!

The shu uemura eyelash curler is my HG and I was tossing up between getting the gold or the mon shu girl curler and ended up going with mon shu girl. Karl Lagerfield rocks and I'm a sucker for a charm.

A few misc items! A refill for my Clinique powder, YSL glossy stain, MAC Select Moisturecover concealer, Kiehl's Cryste Marine eye cream and one of the new Clinique Chubby Stick shades.

I've heard so much stuff about the Bioderma I had to try it out. It's so much cheaper in HK!

Of course I got some face masks! I'm kind of obsessed with them lol. I actually bought 4 more boxes but had to leave them behind because my luggage was too heavy. The darn Zoya Remove!

Kracie poppin' cookin' is the bomb so I got a few more kits. If you haven't heard of them I HIGHLY recommend you check out RRcherrypie's blog and YouTube channel! You will be addicted!

My sister got an iphone 4S a while back and nicked some of the cases I got last time so I had to restock my supply haha. The MJ and Kate Spades I got for a bargain at Ladies Market so they're obviously not real xp

So that's my haul! I haven't done a haul post in a while because I've been on no buys. I hope you enjoyed my post!
Thanks for looking as always =)

Clinique Chubby Stick in Oversized Orange swatches and review
When I first heard that Clinique were releasing 8 new shades to their hugely popular Chubby Stick range I nearly fainted with excitement. They are one of my absolute favourite lip products!!!! I absolutely adore these little chubby sticks of colourful goodness and I own nearly all the original shades (you can peep some swatches here). The new shades include some gorgeous shades that are just as cute as the original collection and they are released TODAY!! I have my swatches of one of the shades Oversized Orange for you today!

What they say:
"Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm is Clinique’s #1 lip product worldwide. To chubbify the Chubby Stick craze, Clinique is introducing 8 new mouthwatering hues with stay-true colour and buildable coverage ranging in shades from oranges to pinks to fuchsias and violets. Have a little colour or a lot with: Heaping Hazelnut, Bountiful Blush, Two Ton Tomato, Oversized Orange, Mighty Mimosa, Curvy Candy, Pudgy Peony and Voluptuous Violet.

They are packaged in the same chunky twist up crayon and have the same moisturising formula that contains Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter and Jojoba Seed Oil. You can read my full review of the Chubby Sticks here.

Oversized Orange is a wonderfully summery tangerine shade with slight shimmer through it. It looks alarmingly bright in the tube but like the other Chubby Sticks apply quite sheer. It's a fantastic way to try brighter shades without being too in your face.

Swatch:

My lips are quite pigmented so orangey shades tend to lean very pink on me.

A minimal makeup FOTD using Clinique Chubby Stick in Oversized Orange:

Overall: I am madly in love with Clinque Chubby Sticks and I adore Oversized Orange just like I do my others! Oversized Orange is a fun shade and perfect for the warmer months. I especially love wearing my Chubby Sticks to work as I don't want something too bright so these give the perfect hint of colour and stay power is good so there's no need to reapply all the time which is great. I really enjoy the balm texture of the Chubby Sticks and I find them very moisturising - they feel wonderful on the lips. Love love love these!
I am absolutely dying to go instore to swatch the other 7 shades! I can see myself picking up a few others.. not that I need more lip products haha!

Details: The Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are available in 8 NEW shades from today July 29th 2012 at Clinique counters nationwide and online at www.clinique.com.au for $35.
They are available for purchase in the US from www.clinique.com for $16US and in Hong Kong from www.clinique.com.hk and Clinique counters for $130HK.

Winter skin essentials
It's the middle of winter here in Aus and it is COLD! My skin freaks out at the best of times but in winter it needs a lot of help. I thought I would share some of the products I love for winter - some also feature in my day to day routine too. I don't post too much about skincare on here because I am such a skincare noob and my skin is not good at all. These products work (relatively) well for me but may not be suited to your skin so please try with caution!

Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runway Coral swatches and review
Clinique debuted the latest addition to their Long Last Lipstick collection during New York Fashion Week this year. The bright coral shade Runway Coral was inspired by the makeup look created for Karen Walker's Spring/Summer 2012 runway show by Clinique's Global Colour Artist Jenna Menard and has been been turned into an online exclusive shade.

What they say:
"Direct from Fashion Week in NYC! Get the look - and the vibrant coral lip colour - created by Jenna Menard, for Karen Walker's Spring/Summer 2012 runway show. Here for a limited time - and just in time for Autumn too.
“Karen wanted the models to look youthful and feminine with a sophisticated twist,” explains Jenna Menard. “So I kept the eye very simple, the cheeks healthy and then went for a strong, vibrant lip. I chose bright coral because it’s less expected than red, and I went to the Clinique lab to create exactly the right shade. It worked with Karen's entire collection as well as all the model's skin tones.”

My Hong Kong 2012 hauls *PIC HEAVY*
Hi ladies! I'm finally back after my long absence. I've been back home now for a few days but I've been so rundown I haven't felt like doing much at all let alone come home and blog after work. Plus I got food poisoning a few days ago argh! So annoying! Anyway, here is my haul post for you all which is much requested every time I go to Hong Kong =) I didn't have a lot of time to shop this trip but I actually came home with nearly the same amount of stuff as I usually do or more even *shakes head* I work better under pressure what can I say! Looking at my previous HK haul posts they all sort of look similar.. I always tend to stock up on the same brands and things haha.
WARNING: This post is INSANELY pic heavy! I was going to split it into 2 posts but I couldn't be bothered xp I'm making up for not blogging for so long I guess!

I'm not responsible for creating any lemmings!

My nail polish haul for this trip. Not a lot because I have a crazy amount of untrieds! I limited myself to picking up some lemmings which included Color Club Where's the Soiree, OPI Alpine Snow (I needed a new bottle), 3 of the Essie Luxeffects and Zoya Roxy. The BK holos are getting discontinued so I stocked up on a few colours to include in swaps. Also a Lajour duochrome recommended to me by my fellow polish and food lover Abby. Thanks for the tip Abby! Also two magnetic polishes from a random brand I came across too.

These Canmake polishes deserve a pic on their own! These are their new Nail Topping Coat polishes to create easy ice-cream nail art. They also released a chocolate coloured polish (pictured on the left) with some adorable pastels to help create the look. I was itching to get the pastels too but had to show restraint every time I walked past a Canmake counter since I have dupes at home =( I am SUPER excited to try these out!

Guest review: Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15
Hi ladies! Earlier in the year I was very fortunate to receive a sample of the Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 in beige when I attended a sneak preview at Clinique HQ but unfortunately it was too dark for me. It was such a shame because I really enjoy the products from the Moisture Surge range and I love tinted moisturizer so I really wanted to try the combination of them both. Luckily I was able to pass it onto D's sister P who will be guest reviewing the product for me today. This is the first guest review on Cosmetic Cupcake and it hopefully won't be the last!
I have to refer to D's sister as P because her name is quite unusual. She's a super lawyer by trade and is a HUGE basketball lover and plays whenever she can. She isn't all that into makeup at all and when she does she uses mainly drugstore products. I'm trying to get her into more beauty related things!

Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 in 04 Beige:
What they say:
"A super hydrating, lightweight modern gel-cream, this tinted moisturiser offers just enough coverage to create an even, flawless complexion. The smooth texture blends evenly and effortlessly, leaving skin feeling cool, refreshed and completely hydrated. Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser delivers all day colour, provides an immediate boost of moisturisation and strengthens skin's moisture barrier, bringing dry and delicate skin back into a health balance. Perfect for all foundation-phobes, it's appropriate for all skin type and provides a hint of skin-perfecting colour with just enough coverage to make the appearance of imperfections disappear providing a naturally pretty look."

The review:
Hi ladies! It seems that poor 'chelle is still trying to get her health back so I thought that I would try and help out with a few product reviews. I'm not a big cosmetics fan for 3 reasons:
One, I don't know how to apply make up properly. Sometimes I go to make up stores / sections and hesitantly pick up a product. "Can I help you Miss?" "yes, um... what is this?" "That's loose powder". "Oh... ok, thanks" I didn't buy it. Because I don't know what loose powder is. Maybe it's the opposite of tight powder.
Two, I'm lazy (see One). I can't even expand on the reason, I'm that lazy.
Three, I don't have time. I can't believe I even have time to write this. I'd normally be working. Or studying. Or playing basketball. Did I ever tell you that basketball is my passion?
So when 'chelle asked me to road test some cosmetics that she was unable to try (because I'm so much darker than her), I said I'd definitely try - as she explained to me what tinted moisturiser was and handed me my first product.
When I think of Clinique I think of old women. No offence to 'chelle cos I know how much she swears by Clinique. ('chelle: I'm slightly obsessed with Clinique, must be the pastel packaging haha.) But I'm definitely seeing a younger market appeal with this foundation.

Quick application is essential for me - less than 1 minute at most, for the entire face (mind you I have a tiny face). This moisturiser definitely met that test. Very smooth, light and fantastic coverage with fingers. It didn't feel oily and I hardly had to use much. It even smelt fresh. A good size in this cute 30ml bottle, perfect to take around in my bag already full of basketball shoes, gym gear and lunch. Another essential is fast removal, without residue. Again - tick. I only use Cetaphil to wash my face, and this moisturiser came off easily with this trusty cleanser, in no time. It covers blemishes well and doesn't rub off or flake like other tinted moisturisers. This can be worn on its own (which I do as I don't have time to apply tight or loose powder on top) or under make up.

I use this straight after I have played ball. The coverage lasts even though I haven't quite cooled down yet and end up with a sweaty nose and a sweat moustache.
My only reservation would be cost, so I'd wait to see just how long this bottle lasted and if I thought it was really worth the Clinique price tag, which I assume to be about $50. ('chelle: Good guess!) However, overall I would definitely recommend Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15.
Details: Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 is available in 6 shades from www.clinique.com.au and Clinique counters nationally for $50.
It is available for purchase in the US from www.clinique.com for $24.50US.

"Oh... ok, thanks" I didn't buy it.
