LV is a Junior DT for...

...Tuesday Morning Sketches!!! How exciting is that? She is Melissa's very first junior DT...well...besides her adorable DD Hollyanne! She is joining Hollyanne in something new Melissa has decided to try out. She'll just be doing this challenge DT'ing once a month...but she's exited!

Her first challenge was to make a card with a recipe instead of a sketch and the recipe was "Glitter, Tag, & a Secret Surprise"! She whipped this one up Sunday night when we got home from my MIL's. She already had the image colored...so this worked out great! Image is from Inktegrity by the amazing Joni! :D Check her out and check out Tuesday Morning Sketches for your challenge fix!

Ok...I'm off...1 million things to do and only 2 hands...AY CARAMBA! Thanks for stopping by and most of all...thanks for your continued prayers and thoughts. They seem to be working! HUGE HUGS! So far much better... :)

Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop!

This hop is a major brick house! Why? Because the girls are using the brick wall technique as the theme! I was a bit hesitant to join as it looked a bit intimidating with having to cut all those little pieces...but OMG...jut as it was time consuming...the outcome is AMAZING! Reminds me a bit of graffiti art I use to see when I lived in South Central growing up. If it wasn't that time consuming I would do that more often. Still...this technique is PERFECT to use with Bombshell Stamps! I already know who I'm gonna be saving this card for. My BIL has the same tattoo on his shoulder...well...similar! I know he'll appreciate this card! I don't know why...but after seeing this card...I crave a PB&J sammy! LOL! Grape jelly please...:P

So without too much a-do...here is my card! I used Panther Tattoo for my card. When I got this set...I had NO IDEA what to make with it...so when the hop captain came up with this idea...I KNEW I had to use it! I actually envisioned it and to be honest...it came out better than how I had envisioned it!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm sorry I don't have too much blah blah today...but I am one busy girl trying to catch up on some stuff AND working on what I'm gonna be making for Thanksgiving. We're having kind of like a potluck at the in-laws...so I have to make something yummy! :P

Make sure to visit my other Bombshell hotties! Leave them some love too K? ;)

I'm SOOO SORRY!

I want to first apologize for my lack of posting. For one...I had very bad news presented to me having to do with my financial status...too long and whinney to even talk about it...but just know that I am now $1000 a month poorer and living in California...that's depressing! So...since I got that news...I have been TOO bummed to do ANYTHING! I haven't stamped or made ANYTHING and that alone has driven my mojo into non-existance. Today I got a PM on SCS though from a DF about a card of mine she received in a swap we were in and she gave me such wonderful praise that motivated me enough to work on something today. So I'm posting these things I've worked on in the past just so you know I'm still here. I will get back to checking out your blogs as well...just be patient with me. *smile* Ok...so here are some cards and ABC's I've worked on for swaps and RAK's! I'll add detail soon! *smile* However...I have been helping my DD create a new blog to post about her time at the Jonas Brothers concert...and well...our love for the Jonas Brothers. She made her first ever banner!!! I'm so proud!

This one is for an AMUSE swap!

For a Sweet Things swap!

For a Gina K. swap!

second spot in the Gina K. swap

For a Bella swap!

and this one is a RAK made for a daughter of a good friend of mine who was going thru a hard time with a skin condition...poor lil momma! She's girly girl...so what's better than pink!?

Diagonal Double Pocket Card

Hi! Here is a card I made once again breakin out the Scor-Pal! It's a double diagonal pocket card! Sound fun huh? Well...it sure was fun to make! I'm not entirely happy with it...but I do love the design! You can find the tutorial HERE! I'm not to chatty today...:( I'm missing my DD LV who's at a Dodgers game with her teacher and classmates...also I'm using her laptop and there's a pic of her as a background...lol. I'm also nursing a pulled stomach muscle that had been bothering me for a few days and I couldn't stand straight or inhale properly. Thankfully I went to the dr. to check out what was wrong and I was prescribed rest and a heat pad. Could you imagine me on the couch with a heat pad when we're having warm temps? YIKES! Anwho...hope you like this card I made. I'll have it handy for anyone having a baby...lol. What's neat about it is the tags you can pull out and journal in it.

Supplies:
CS/Paper: GGuava, WWhite, & Marcella By K. Bungalow DP
Ink: Black Staz-On & Prismacolor Markers
Stamps: Angel Boy (could be girl?) from RubberNecker Stamp Oasis & Small Sayings
Embellishments: Bling
Others: Lg. star punch, sm. star punch, round tab punch, oval colluzzle, corner rounder (for scallops), & Scor-Pal

Faux Linen Roses In Winter

Ok...toot toot...yes, I tooted my own horn! I LOVE how this card turned out! I did do a boo boo as I scratched a bit too early while the En Fracais stamped was still a bit wet...but either way, layering with a lighter color I think covered the boo boo! The photo paper was "scratched" using medium weight sand paper since I couldn't find my distresser. I have never been in love with any set from SU...but Roses In Winter is my all time fave! I try not to use it too much because I love it that much...but when I do....OOOHHHH! LOL!!! What do you think about this one? Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
CS: CCrisp & Photo Paper
Ink: BBurgundy, WWasabi, GGuava, SSaffron, & CCrisp
Stamps: En Fracais, Roses In Winter, & Elegant Cheer
Embellishments: Burgundy satin ribbon, eyelet & gold cord
Others: circle punch & Crop-A-Dile

Faux Silk with Paper Trey

I'm not too happy with how this card turned out...but still I had to share. I really like this technique since I have TONS of tissue paper left over from Christmas...lol. I totally thought the DP from Autumn leaves would match with the stamped tissue...but alas...it didn't. Still...I worked too hard on it to just toss it...lol. What do you think? Be honest! LOL!

Supplies:
CS: WWasabi, BBlack, White from Mike's & Shangri-la DP from Autumn Leaves
Ink: WWasabi, BBlue, BBlack, & C2Cocoa
Stamps: Out On A Limb from Paper Trey
Embellishments: chocolate satin ribbon & Hodgepodge Hardware
Others: tissue paper, scalloped punch, circle punch, & piercer

St. Patrick's Day Surprise Pop Up Slider

First off I want to apologize for not being around...story of my life right? LOL! No, seriously though, I have been trying to catch up badly on SCS swaps I'm in before the due dates really creep up on me! Also today I felt very sick! It must be a mild case of food poisoning because I have been really up-chucking! Sorry...TMI! Today I thought I'd take a break and finish up some St. Patrick's Day cards for a swap in both my MSN group and Joani's in hopes I start feeling better.

This is my very first time trying out this cool technique found on SCS...you can find the tutorial HERE! It looked a bit intimidating...but if I put myself to do something...I can overcome that! Well, sometimes...LOL!
Supplies:
CS: WWasabi, MMoss, RRock, White NON SU, & Kraft
Ink: WWasabi
Stamps: Wing It, Weathered, & Sincere Salutations
Embellishments: clear baubles, eyelets, & ribbon
Others: circle punch & Crop-A-Dile

Rockin' Jared Leto for Maria

Hey there...Happy Belated Valentine's Day! Hope you had a great one! I did! LOL! This card here I made especially for Maria of Card Inspired/Stampin Inspirations for Valentine's Day! I am not normally on the ball to send out RAK cards to everyone I would like to...but I had printed out this picture of Jared so I knew I had to use it! He's from the band 30 Seconds To Mars and was also the HOTTIE on My So Called Life with Claire Danes...remember that show? Well, Maria adores this guy and what better Valentine that a hottie you're in to!? LOL! I wish I would have gotten one of Ville from the band HIM...lol. I really like how this card turned out because it reflects who I am...I am so this "rockin'" style! Anywho...I didn't want to post it before until I knew Maria had received it! I'm so glad she liked it! I have a few 30STM on my player if you wanna check it out!

The photo paper was a technique I found on SCS I wanted to try...Faux Linen! Jared's piccy was "scratched" to give it that rock look! My 3 year old DD told me to place the guitar slanted as oppose to laying under Jared's piccy like I had first placed it! LOL! Thanks Lizzie! Muah baby girl!

Supplies:
CS: CCrisp, BBlack, Photo Paper, & Rock Start Stack DCWV
Ink: Jet Black Staz-On & Silver Pilot pen
Stamps: En Fracais, Seriously Sassy, Both Way Blossoms, & Bohemian Flourish from Inkadinkado
Embellishments: cut out guitar
Others: heart punch from Mike's $1 spot & distressing sheet

Just sharing my little helper!

Sour Cream Containers

Hi ya'll...I haven't been around the past couple of days due to these bouts with depression. I just haven't been feeling like myself but I have to snap out of it for everyone's sake. By everyone, I mean my kids, hubby, and parents. See...I never think of myself!

Yesterday morning and midday though...I was working on these sour cream containers for my mom. I made 3 dozen of them so she can give them to her friends at Vista...an adult day care center my parents have been going to for the past 4 years. I donate my cards to them from swaps I've been in to give some of those elderly some cheer. Some of them are alone with no one to share theirselves with...so I know the cards given to them help put a smile on their face. Anywho...you can find full instructions on making these at SCS HERE! I just pictured 12 here because I was not about to photograph all 36! LOL!

Supplies:
CS: PIPink, RRed, & White non SU
Ink: RRed & PIPink
Stamps: Wing It, Heartfelt Sentiments from Sweet & Sassy, & date stamper
Embellishments: Pink satin ribbon
Others: Scalloped punch & 1 3/8 circle punch

Cracked Glass A La Gabby

I hope I'm doing "ok" at tutorials. Sometimes I think I'm as clear as mud! YIKES! So here goes my version of the cracked glass! Hope you like!

Supplies:

Embossing Gun

Neutral CS

UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel)

Stamps of choice

Inks of choice to stamp & color (optional)

Staz-On Ink for image

Versamark

Tray (optional)

Photobucket

Stamp image and color as desired (optional step)

next dab Versamark ink all over piece of CS you want to "glass"

Photobucket

in tray, sprinkle UTEE powder. Lift image and shake off excess powder. Put left over powder back into UTEE jar.

Photobucket

begin embossing. Be careful, it could get messy in this part as the UTEE powder/crystals will fly all over the place. If you have glasses, USE THEM or have some goggles at hand. Heat until all the powder is melted.

Photobucket

at the first heat thru, you'll maybe notice some "bubble like" embossing, repeat embossing with a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 5 times. Always rub the Versamark over each step before adding the UTEE.

Photobucket

do this until it's smooth and glossy and stick in freezer for about 10-15 minutes...depending on how thick your UTEE embossing is.

Photobucket

when you bring it out of the freezer, it may be curled...use that to start cracking your "glass"

Photobucket

Photobucket

next, get a sponge, cotton, or dauber to ink up the cracks (optional step)

Photobucket

Photobucket

assemble your card! You're done!

Photobucket

Embossing Resist with tutorial...my way!

As you may know, if you visit SCS, that this tutorial was created by the AWSOME Beate...but I thought I'd give it a try to add it to my MSN group...so here goes for you bloggers!

You'll Need:
Heat Gun
Versamark Ink (or any clear embossing pad)
Neutral CS
Stamps of choice
Clear embossing powder
Distressing Ink or Classic SU Ink (but any ink will work)
cotton balls or daubbers

cut your neutral CS to desired size, set aside, and ink up stamp with embossing pad

stamp image onto CS (here I used From The Garden by Fancy Pants)

sprinkle clear embossing powder over image and shake off

start heat embossing your image until glossy (becareful not to set your embossing gun to close to the paper or it may burn and yellow)

ink your cotton or daubber with desired ink and begin inking (you can dab or swipe for different effects, here I used Antique Linen Distress Ink)

here is what it looks like once you've complated the whole piece of CS (IRL, this looks and feels like "faux suede")

with a clean cotton or daubber, smooth over "resist" to clean off any left over ink

here is the finished product...embellish as desired!
Supplies:
CS: BBlack & White NON SU CS
Ink: Versamark, BBlack, & Antique Linen Distress Ink
Stamps: From The Garden by Fancy Pants & Meet Me At The Cafe' by MFT
Embellishments: metal framed heart
Others: heat gun & clear embossing powder
