A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Three Bs

We have a new challenge for you at A Gem of a Challenge, this time our theme is "Add At Least Three Things Beginning With The Letter B".  I added a bunny, buttons, butterflies, blooms and blue to my card for my "Bs"; and used a super cute digi called Bunny with Flowers, from the Pink Gem store, which I coloured with my Promarkers, fussy cut and stuck to the card with foam pads.
The patterned papers are from a seriously elderly Papermania pad called Venetian Skies, to which I added a hint of kraft and some light blue paper for a fresh look.
I stamped a sentiment with a stamp from a Personal Impressions set, and embellished very simply with a couple of buttons and a trio of butterflies punched from dark blue paper.

We have a new challenge for you today at I Love Promarkers, this time our theme is "Shabby Chic", and we're sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy, who very kindly gave the DT some images to play with.  I chose to use Winter Games 2, which I coloured with my Promarkers, using some Star Dust Stickles for a bit of glitter and some White Gloss Nuvo Drops for falling snow.
The papers are from a Papermania pack called Pocket Full of Posies, I picked it up for a pound at the SECC show last October.  I scuffed all the edges with my Tim Holtz tool for a shabby look and added kraft card for matting.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.
To embellish, I added some chunky silver snowflakes that have been in my stash since the year dot, and a few crystal gems.

Here's the card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day, I popped an iTunes voucher inside coz I'm romantic Like that!
The patterned paper is from an elderly Papermania Dandelion and Daisy pack, I layered up with black card embossed  with a Cuttlebug heart design folder and a Papermania with tag that I stamped with a Hobby Craft Valentine's stamp in red ink.  I decorated the tag with a heart made with a Cuttlebug die cut and emboss set, using red holographic card, some ribbon and a twine threaded heart shaped ribbon.
The final touch was to add some blobs of black Nuvo Drops.

Girly and Glam

An unashamedly girly card today, featuring a Papermania stamp set that I haven't used for ages and deserved an inking up.
The dress, shoes and bag, and sentiment are all from the same Papermania Bellissima stamp set.  I coloured the images with Promarkers, stamped a section of the dress onto pink patterned vellum and sprayed it with Spray and Sparkle, then pieced it to the image, attaching it only at the top for some movement.  I then used some lovely Stix2 Anything glitter and micro bead mix to embellish the bodice, using Pinflair glue for glitter to hold it firmly in place.
The papers are from a Lili of the Valley pad called, appropriately enough, Little Dress Shoppe, to which I've added some white and kraft card for matting.
To embellish, I added some pretty organza ribbon with a matching double bow, some crystal gems, and a pink heart on the sentiment panel.

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Anything Goes

It's challenge time once again at I Love Promarkers, this time our theme is the ever popular "Anything Goes", and we're sponsored by The Paper Shelter, who very kindly gave the DT some image to play with.  I chose to use Dragon's Birthday, colouring the image with my Promarkers, of course, in colours suitable for a male card.
The patterned papers are from an ancient Papermania pad called Little Cake Shoppe, to which I've added kraft card for matting and mirri and satin board for die cutting.  The sentiment was stamped with a stamp from a Personal Impressions set.
All the die cuts were made with the same set, an Xcut birthday party themed set that I use a lot.  The finishing touch was to add a few blobs of Buttermilk Nuvo Drops.

Chocolate is the Answer

Last night was our girly craft session, and this week we all played with my Marianne chocolate dies and matching stamps.  The box and bow are one set of dies, the chocolates make up another two sets, each set comes with a fun sentiment stamp like the one I've used here.
The patterned papers are from an old Papermania pad called Blueberry Hill, I've added kraft for matting.  I stamped the sentiment onto pink card, using Imagination Crafts Alchemy Wax around the edges.
The sweets were cut from brown and cream card and were inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink to bring out the embossing.  The box was cut from gold textured card and topped with a pretty pink bow.
To finish, and add a feminine touch, I made some daisies with a couple of sizes of Woodware punches, giving each bloom a gem centre.  The foliage punch is Woodware too.

Fairy Cake Frolics

I dug out an old Helz Cuppleditch stamp that hadn't seen ink for a while for this card, it always makes me smile.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and added Star Dust Stickles and Glamour Dust for a bit of fairy sparkle.
The patterned paper is from a Papermania pad called The Little Cake Shoppe, it too has been in my stash for a long time.  The sentiment was stamped with a Lili of the Valley stamp from a sentiment verse set.  All the edges were inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink for definition.
To embellish, I used a First Edition die set to make kitchen utensils and accessories, including a bright red Kitchen Aid stand mixer that I have long coveted.  I'll have to make do with a paper one for now!

It's that time of the month when I share my Kitty Bee spotlight project, which, this month is a card featuring a super cute digi, called Espresso Bun, available from the Kitty Bee Etsy store.
I coloured it with Promarkers and paper pieced the cup, then fussy cut it out so that it could be stuck to the card with glue gel for added dimension.
The patterned papers I used on the cup and teapot are Papermania, Blueberry Hill, the pink gingham cardstock is from Payper Box.
I used Xcut dies to create the doily and the teapot, and I embellished my card with a sentiment stamped with a Lili of the Valley stamp, and some pink ribbon with a matching pink bow.

Gorjuss Notebook

Something other than a card today, a little notebook, featuring a Gorjuss girl in shades of purple for Fibromyalgia Awareness.
The notebook started off as a bare chipboard blank; I covered it with purple pearl card on the outside and patterned purple paper on the inside.  I used torn scraps of Papermania Capsule Collection papers in Heather (I used a sheet of this on the inside too) on the front cover, and stamped and heat embossed a Sheena Douglass sentiment with purple glitter embossing powder.  I used the same paper to add some tiny punched butterflies.  The edges of the book were rubbed with Imagination Crafts Alchemy Wax in Silver to cover the bare board and add a bit of shimmer.
The Gorjuss girl was made with my new Xcut die set, all the pieces are simply die cut, embossed and layered up.  I used papers from a Papermania Gorjuss paper pack, and added some seed beads for eyes and a little coloured pencil for rosy cheeks.
The notebook is held together with metal rings, so, to decorate these, and, as a nod to the Fibromyalgia purple ribbon, I knotted on a selection of different purple ribbons.

Cutie Pie DT Card - Winter Warmers

We're back with a new challenge at Cutie Pie, this month our theme is "Winter Warmers", and we're sponsored by Crafty Sentiments and Bugaboo.  Both of our sponsors kindly gave the DT some images to play with, I chose to use this sweet bear from Bugaboo, called BUGXMASBEAR, colouring him with my Promarkers and adding Glamour Dust glitter to the fur trim.

The background was created with a Sue Wilson die, the die cuts into the card leaving a beautiful, filigree snowflake background behind.  I used white pearl card, leaving more space at the bottom of the panel so that I could stamp a sentiment, which I did with a Papermania stamp.
The mittens were made with a Memory Box die, I also embellished the fur trim with Glamour Dust, to match the bear.

A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Celebrate Something New

We're back with the first challenge of the year at A Gem of a Challenge, this fortnight our theme is "Celebrate Something New".  I decided to make a new home card as my DT project, using Snail Home from the Pink Gem store, which I coloured with Promarkers and added some paper piecing for the shell.
The patterned papers are Papermania, Hot Diggedy Dog, to which I added some black card for matting.  They've been in my stash of ages but I still like the pretty pastel colours, and they make a nice change from all the Christmas papers I've been using recently.
To embellish, I added a sentiment stamped with a Lili of the Valley stamp, and I made a large flower with my Heartfelt Creations, Enchanted Mums die, and foliage with Sue Wilson Petite Vines dies.  The flower centre was made a lovely micro bead and glitter mix from Stix 2 Anything.

Chill, It's Your Birthday

A belated Happy New Year to one and all!
I'm finally back in the land of the living after having a nasty bug over the festive season, I've been knocked sideways by it over over three weeks but am getting back on my feet now.
This card is the one that I made for my Mum's birthday, which is on Christmas Eve, I just hadn't got round to blogging it due to not being well.
I used a John Lockwood for Creative Expressions stamp set for this card, heat embossing the central piece with white embossing powder and decoupaging the flowers, and, using a snowdrop cluster stamp, I stamped in green ink on patterned paper to create a matching background.  The stamp set comes with a variety of sentiments, I chose "Chill, It's Your Birthday" to add to my frosty card.  I also added some glitter and gems to the topper for a touch of sparkle.
The patterned paper is Papermania Capsule Collection in Eau de Nil, to which I've added white and eau de nil card for matting.  The doily was cut with an Xcut die in white pearl card.
To embellish, I added a double bow, some tiny punched snowflakes and blobs of white Nuvo Drops.

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Hats

It's challenge time again at I Love Promarkers, this fortnight our theme is "Hats" and we're sponsored by Doctor Digi, who kindly gave the DT some images to play with.  I, however, chose a Doctor Digi image from my own collection for my card, called Simply Santa, colouring him with my Promarkers and adding some Ultra Fine Flower Soft to give him a fluffy beard.  I also used this to create a border round the edge of the topper.
The papers, including those used on the die cut presents, are Papermania, from a pack called A Letter to Santa, some of them have lovely gold foiling on them.  The sentiment stamp used is Papermania too.  The cute present die is from Crafter's Companion, I couldn't resist giving each parcel a gold mirri bow.  The finishing touch was to add a large double bow.

Oh, and don't forget to make your entry as cute as you can!
I went as snowy as I could with my card, using a sheet of Trimcraft paper, from a pack called Santa's Workshop, along with a die cut border, done with my Memory Box Frostyville Border die, using some mint green satin board.  I also added some snowflakes made with a Nellie Snellen punch set, I topped them with crystal gems for some festive sparkle.  The sentiment was stamped with a Papermania stamp, I matted it onto red card to pick out the red in the image.  The final touch was to add some blobs of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Seashell.

A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Christmas

It's the last challenge of the year at A Gem of a Challenge and this time our theme is "Christmas".  I chose to use Cheers Chilly from the Pink Gem store, which I coloured with my Promarkers.  I love this fun image, I think it's perfect for male cards; this card is for my son's swimming teacher who is a young twenty-something lad.
The papers are Crafter's Companion, from the Sara Davis Collection; I inked the edges with dark blue ink and added light blue card for the die cuts.
The sentiment panel was cut with a Sue Wilson die and stamped with a Papermania stamp, and the snowflakes were cut with Sweet Dixie dies and topped with crystal gems.  To finish, I added a few blobs of Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Snowmen

It's time for a new challenge at I Love Promarkers, this fortnight our theme is "Snowmen" and we're sponsored by Coll Art (Letraset).
I decided to use an old Papermania stamp from the Tulip collection, which is great fun to colour with Promarkers as there is so much detail.  The snap on fine nibs do come in handy for this one!  I added some white Nuvo Drops sprinkled with Glamour Dust for all the snowy detail and stuck on a few sequins to up the bling factor.
The rather sweet snowman paper is from a Trimcraft pack called Santa's Workshop, I just added in some festive red card for matting.  The trees were stamped with Heartfelt Creations stamps and cut out with matching dies.
To embellish, I added some gingham ribbon, and a bow threaded with a ribbon slider.
