Hardcore Ragga 2

Simular collection to the one beneath, but displaying the production skills of Mikey Bennett and Patrick Lindsay. Their Two Friends label might have always seemed in the shadow of Music Works, but hits like Cocoa Tea's "No Blood For Oil", Dennis Brown's "Poison" and Hopeton Lindo's "Slaughter" come very near to matching Hardcore Ragga.

Little Twitch - Tender Touch

LITTLE TWITCH
Born Richard Wright to Yvonne Dallas and Winston Wright, First child for both in Kingston 11. At a early age he knew he was destined to be an entertainer. Because of the community (Cockburn Pen) he was born and grew up in, Twitch was influenced by a lot of reggae artists who lived in the surrounding area. One artist that he truly looked up to and called his mentor was Daddy U Roy who was also a close family friend. After some time Twitch started hanging around U Roy’s sound system which is King Sturagav, where he learned at a early age to chant on the mic. This was in the 1970’s when dancehall reggae music was on the rise, but then came the 1980 election, which was a very bad time in his community. At that time he was living with his grandmother, Mrs. Wright who knew at the time, it was best for him to move away from the community and venture out to a new environment.

1992 release on the Vp label. Tough tunes on tuff riddims, wicked lp.

Shabba Ranks - Golden Touch

The second part of a double dose of shabba ranks. A don in the digi dancehall era, with his controversial lyrics, tuff riddims, legendary clashes and unmistakable style... Golden Touch..... one of my favourite albums with some unforgettable riddims, released in the uk under the greensleeves label and elsewhere under the vp label.
