To say that this past week was hard, would be an understatement. My 87 year old father passed into the light Friday night. He had lived independently and on his own terms until the last week. My brother and I got to tell him we loved him and we got to say goodbye. In my world, I consider that to be pretty much a perfect end to a strong and beautiful life. I love him to pieces and I know that he is still with me. I have a very strong network of family and friends that lift me up. I am so blessed.
Part of that support network is my quilt guild (
Ithaca Modern Quilt Guild). They are an amazing group of people. Yesterday we got to do a trunk show of our quilts at the
Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center. WOW, that was so much fun and just what my soul needed. Schweinfurth hosts the Quilts = Art = Quilts juried show each year at this time and also host QBL (Quilting by the Lake) in the summer.
