Christmas Around the Clock 21-24!

These are the last challenges for The Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot Christmas Around the Clock

Challenge #21 - Embossed Christmas Album

This album is for my YourStory™ to complete! It's a card stock album and since I can put hot glue on the inside and then bind it, these are the kind of albums I like to make.

Recipe:
Embossing: Swiss Dots™

Challenge #22 - 3D Christmas Tree
This is the cake box from Tie the Knot™. I am so excited because I think these would make SUCH cute favors for a Christmas party after you've filled them with goodies!

Recipe:
Cartridge: Tie the Knot™ (for the cake box)
All other punch outs were scraps :)

Challenge #23 - Negative and Positive images
These were the cut outs I was playing with for the "NOEL" card. So I was happy to use them up on these two cards!

Recipe:
Cartridge: Storybook™
Martha Stewart Corner Punch
Ribbon
Pop Dots
K& Co. Embellishments

Challenge #24 - Have your cake and eat it too!
This is just prepped for tonight as when the challenge closes I will be eating it! If we cook it before the challenge closes, then I'll post a picture of my husband and I enjoying it! But I wanted to get it in just in case. Isn't our red Campbell's mug just perfect for this? Mmm mmm good!

Thanks for enduring my Christmas craziness!

Court

P.s. The Christmas album qualified for The Cuttlebug Spot's challenge, but they closed the linky and I thought I had till the end of the day. So oh well! But go check out the other embossed mini albums!

More Christmas in July

Hold onto your hats because there is going to be a lot of posting going on here soon and it will almost all be Christmas cards.

Cuttlebug Challenges is hosting a Christmas in July week. It started on the 19th and is ending on the 24th - "Christmas" eve in July. On the 24th they are posting 24 one hour challenges. I will participating in as many of these as I can. I realized that since I got my Cricut in January - I have NO Christmas images/cartridges. Luckily there are about 2 on the Designers Calendar, but I think this 24 challenge thing is going to be very tough without it.

With that being said, this card is for their regular challenge per week.

Recipe:
Snowflake - Designers Calendar Cartridge™. Cut at 2" - that was too small to cut properly - used it as the back white diamond and re-cut the image at 3". I ran the top layer through the Cuttlebug™ with the A2 D'vine Swirls Emboss Folder™, glued the same green card stock as the strip to the back so the color would come through. Then I popped it with pop dots.

Green stripe was scrap paper from the doggy mat I made a few days ago. LOVE up-cycling!

The stamp was done with Hero Arts™ CL272 set and ColorBox olive green ink.

I used Crayola™ Glitter Glue (no kidding - I had it from about 10 years ago and it's still working!) for the dots around the snowflake.

Enjoy!

This card qualifies for the following challenges:
Cuttlebug Challenges: Sketch and Christmas
The Cuttlebug Spot: Christmas in July

4th of July!

Well, my friend Aubrey sent me some goodies in the mail and they are all over this card! The ribbon and the buttons are all from her (Thank you!).

4th of July and the sailboat are both cut from Designers Calendar™ cartridge. The "4th of July" didn't have a shadow feature, so I just cut it out a little bit bigger and I think it still looks great!

I embossed the sailboat with two folders: the A2 Swiss Dots Embossing Folder™ and the A2 Combo Birthday Wishes™ folder. I just used the part below the candle tops. I love the striped look!

The paper is kraft, DCWV neutrals (dark and light blue), and the DCWV Taj Mahal stack.

This card qualifies for three challenges:
Wee Memories: red, white, and blue
The Cuttlebug Spot: Independence Day
Cricut Carz Challenge: 4th of July

My best friend Kourt is active duty in the Air Force right now (she just graduated from medical school!) and I think I'll be sending this to her. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

Embossed Tag

I was feeling super girlie when I made this card, so the colors are very bright for me. I used the A2 D'vine Swirl Emboss Folder™ with my Cuttlebug™ on the tag. The tag was cut from the Sentimentals Cartridge™.

I made this card for The Cuttlebug Spot.

I have been making a lot of cards in the last few days and they are all so different! I hope you enjoy them and that you are having a wonderful weekend!

You Are My Sunshine

I made this card for my dad. Even though I tried to make it masculine, it still came out a little girly, but my dad is a father of an only girl (me) so he's used to that. When I was little and he was late coming home for work or just when he was thinking about me after I went to college, my dad would sometimes call and sing "you are my sunshine" to me. I (since about high school) now call some of my chick friends or my husband occasionally and sing the song to them on their answering machines. So, this "you are my sunshine" is going back to dad as most times fathers don't know what they did right in your life and what is now being passed forward because they loved you the way that they did.

That being said, I was also trying to work in some challenges and this one qualified for four of them.

Cricut Cardz Challenge Blogspot - Father's Day Card
The Cuttlebug Spot - Sketch Drawing:

Wee Memories- WMC9 - "Punch It"
BBTB2 -Use an image of a Sun from Doodlecharms Cart - which I didn't have so I used one from the Designers Calendar Cartridge™ - It's my border on the left if you can't find them. :)

All of the layers - including the card base are from the Gypsy Wanderings Digital Cartridge™ - they were tag shadows that I just stretched on my Gypsy. I welded one of the rectangles to 5 suns from the Designers Calendar Cartridge™ to get the left panel and added another layer.

The embossing on the bottom is from the A2 Border With Love Emboss Folder™ set. The square panel is popped with pop dots and the kraft paper flower was punched out. I added the buttons to the center of three of the Suns and I added ribbon to the bottom.

The "YOU" was from the Designers Calendar font and was squished on the Gypsy. "Are" and "my" were welded and cut from the Gypsy Font™ and "sunshine" was from the Gypsy Wanderings Digital Cartridge™.

There is a lot going on in this card - I think I am going to make it more simple next time. Let me know if you would like the Gypsy cut file as it is all on there. Happy looking!

3 Challenges Fathers Day Card

I made this card with three challenges in mind:

Cuttlebug Challenges - Use a pennant.
My Pink Stamper - Fathers Day Project.
The Cuttlebug Spot - Dads and Grads with (my favorite) embossing.

I designed all of this on my Gypsy™ (yay) and used the new hide contour feature to basically take out all the middle pieces of the designs. The card was made using Wild Card Cartridge™ for the card, envelope, liner, and "pennants" with the inner triangles removed. The "DAD" was cut using all capitals from the Designers Calendar Cartridge™.

The card was 4.25" and the envelope was 4.5". I used the A2 Houndstooth Emboss Folder™ for the "D" pennants and the A2 Forest Branches Emboss Folder™ for the "A" Pennant.

Because of the shape of the card, it looks a little small in person. I would recommend cutting it larger if you were to make it yourself.

Thanks for looking!
