Flergs' New Apt D Kit

Hey y'all! I just now finished another layout for Flergs CT Guest Spot. I'm tickled pink to be able to actually do something for my favorite designer. This layout is made with Flergs' new Apt D Kit that is available at ScrapbookGraphics.com. The image is clickable if you'd like a closeup ;)

This is my Joshua on his field trip to Patriots Point and Maritime Museum at the Charleston Harbor in South Carolina. The Pack stayed overnight on board the USS Yorktown! One of Joshua's leaders is his Dad and Kim is the Pack Den Mother and both of them slept with the group on the Yorktown. Kim is a dedicated Den Mother; even though her stomach was bad, she stayed the night when other parents gave up and went to a hotel!

I'm ready to take a breather and visit some of my buddies. I have been non stop designing and scrapping for days! See you soon.

Love,
Liv

Yea! I'm online again!

Hey Y'all, Sorry for the delay but you can blame either Blogger or my DSL service (probably DSL). Here is another installment of the True Love Kit. This one is the butterflies and there are loads of them.

Hope you are enjoying this freebie, it really was fun to make. Please let me know what you think of it.

On with the biggie I've been working on. I was somewhat apprehensive about the final product not being what Megan might want for her creative team, but Kim said I needed to be true to myself and not be a slave to the current 'less is more' trend. I really love the Cottage Chic Kit by Flergs, so the first layout was with it. I did a two page layout because that's what popped in my head.

This is my Suzy from toddler to today and is called Watching Suzy Bloom (which she very obviously did). The layout should be clickable for a larger view but no promises! LOL! Sometimes it's astounding what you can accomplish with digital elements because some of the designers (Flergs included) do very realistic art so your layout doesn't look like a magazine ad! The full kit is available plus an add-on of matching glitter or you can purchase just the elements, papers, or glitters separately. If you haven't visited my blog before, I guess I should tell you that Flergs is my very favorite Digital Diva, you should also visit her blog and sign up for the newsletter because she is always offering freebies!

Kim never made it down Monday or Tuesday but she and Joshua are on their way now so I need to sign off. Before I go I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the prayers for Kim, Joshua, Dad, and myself; y'all are all super!

Love,
Liv

Another Freebie Installment

Hey Y'all! sorry to be such a ditz and slow as molasses too! I have been trying to fulfill an obligation that I signed up for months ago and have not completed yet. I'm really excited to be the guest designer, this month, for Flegalicious! aka: Studio Flergs at Scrapbook Graphics. I don't want to embarrass my sweet little friend by making yucky layouts, so it's taking me much longer than I figured to finish my first one. I do hope it turns out to be great, for Megan's sake. She is a top notch designer who has climbed to popularity in the digital world in less than a year! She was minding her own business, doing the digi-thing and offering freebies on her blog, when she was asked to become a professional designer! This young lady is a really talented designer, wife, and mother to two small children! Be sure and stop by her shop and see all the eye candy she has in store for you.

Without further ado, here is the link for the mats and frame that goes with the True Love Kit.

Download it Here

I need to ask you for prayers again. My dad is back in the hospital and I don't know how serious it is so will you keep him in your prayers? His name is Jim. Kim and Joshua are coming down to see me tomorrow if she feels up to it. I'll check back in with another part of the True Love Kit tomorrow evening.

Love,
Liv

I'm Baaack!

Wanted to let you know that the Carbonite backup went smoothly with no problems at all! I am not use to doing things of this nature without some kind of flub up happening. If you're interested in getting a reasonably priced online backup system, then Carbonite is for you! I shopped around and the others I found were astronomical in price and had limitations as to how much you could backup. If you are interested in a trial or purchase send me your email address and I will refer you from their site and you will get an extra free month! I didn't know about this so I got the 12 months not 13. My email is livhudsonatjunodotcom.

Here is my latest digital layout. Watch out! Don't burn your eyes looking at it! LOL! I matched the colors in Kim's mother's day outfit so they are searing hot! Did I tell you that she drove the 45 minutes down to my house to visit me for Mother's Day? She had only been discharged from the hospital the night before! This was for a 'build it' challenge at Scrapbook Graphics.

Paper: Jessica Bolton (SBG), Pastiche, solid green; Rhonna Farrer, Love Stripes, 2 Peas Freebie; Scalloped Border: Flergs (SBG) w/Flergs Glitter Applied; Scalloped Mat: MGL Designs, Pink Matte; Frame: Traci Sims (SBG), Pink Scallop; Green Glitter Heart: Flergs Funky Hearts (SBG); Scattered Hearts: Flergs Freebies; Alpha: Tina Williams, White Alpha; Acrylic Heart: Meredith Fenwick (SBG); Pressed Flowers: Traci Sims (SBG), Urban Fragments; All Glitter: Flergs! I have really missed hopping around to my favorite blogs. I'm sure the reason my upload slowed down my ability to surf was because my DSL has been acting up for the past week. I hope to come by and visit everyone tomorrow!

Scraplift Challenge

Hey Y'all! I made this page for a SBG scraplift today of my father and I back in 1948! Woo! Old! I will be coming back and posting the rest of the photos and story of 'Little One,' just not today, I needed to create something.

I think it's kind of odd that I cruise all my buds blogs every day to see their new posts and if they haven't any I send them a message about where in the world are they. But here I am, posting maybe 3 times a week? No one seems to miss me so . . .

Happy Tuesday!

Hey y’all! It is a Happy Tuesday for me! NO, the squirrels are not gone. I called the critter place today and they said Thursday afternoon and Friday that they are planning to come out and begin the restoration of the house and setup of the traps. I’m happy because Kim, my oldest daughter, came down to see me today. It was just the two of us and we went to the small town just south of me called Monroe. For some reason that is beyond both of us, we have never gone into the town; we’ve been to the local Wal-Mart and such but not the downtown area. Oh what fun we are going to have this summer! There are all kinds of little boutiques and consignment shops and bistros and salons. We went into this marvelous dress shop that had items I’ve not seen before and they are so reasonable. I bought a spring purse, a two piece blouse set, a pair of crocks, a dress and a sweater for Kim and it was all under $100! The dress is adorable and looks so good on her. It is done in predominantly pinks and some greens with a tiny bit of white; it is lined and has 1 inch wide straps. She had to dash back home so I didn’t get a photo of it. We had a great lunch at a bistro that fed us in style for (are you ready for this?) $5 each plus our drink! It was such fun walking in the sunshine and greeting people on the sidewalks and in the stores. The next time we go I’m going to bring my camera (a la Vicki C) and take some shots of the beautiful little shops and such. There was a curio shop that we passed on the way out of the town that we’re going back to check out soon. It had loads and loads of beautiful vases, jugs, and dishes in the window. It’s the first time I’ve actually enjoyed an excursion out in a long time-I’m a definite ‘home body.’

After Kim dropped me back home, I went out back to take some photos of my neighbor’s roses that are tumbling over their white fence.

My neighbors are all yard and garden nuts and it drives them bonkers to live next to the ‘black thumb’ of the neighborhood. I get the best of views for no work what so ever! The sun is so strong now that it is actually bleaching the color out of the flowers!

This is their beautiful Dogwood tree:

A shot of the back lake:

This is the view from my front porch (there is a large lake with an island in the center but you cannot tell it from this angle):

When I got back in I decided to take a photo of my beautiful store bought Gerbera Daisies. Their color is so vibrant and they are so large and just shout “Spring!”

They really are this pink!

I finished a layout yesterday! Yea, me! I did it for a ‘we can build it’ challenge at Scrapbook Graphics. I had to use a solid background, a round cornered, printed photo mat, an acrylic element, a metal clip, and 3 colors. I think it turned out sweet of my long time gone Aunt Margaret when she was a young woman. I need to do more layouts and stop blog hopping so much! LOL! I get on this computer and the time just flies by when I’m online. Anyway, here it is:

Aunt Margaret in 1944, at Byrd Park, in Richmond, VA BG Paper, Caramel Pudding Swirl, Staples: Flergs (at SBG); Vintage Envelope and Clock Face: Traci Sims (at SBG); Plaid Paper: Amanda Kay Laborte (Sunshine Bunch Freebie); Sheet Music and Bird Shape: Vicki Chrisman's Personal Stash (thank you, sweets); Transparent Heart: Meredith Fenwick (at SBG); Rose: Vickey Morrissey (at Scrapbook Elements); Font:Balloon Bold MS; Prepared for Web: Paint The Moon (at O'Scraps); Software: Adobe PCS3

Y'all all have a wonderful Spring day and know I'm thinking 'bout cha! Tootles!
