Christmas Card Club "Get your Skates on"

Good morning all.
I managed to get most of the decorations up yesterday but what is with men?? I asked for everything to be got out of the loft...1st shift I got about 6 boxes each containing one item....2nd shift several hours later was a box and a bag...3rd shift was just hard work and I'm sure we still don't have everything yet! Nobody will listen to me and sort the loft so all the Christmas stuff stays together so we have this problem every year....sigh!

Sharing a second card as a Guest Designer at The Joanna Sheen Challenge blog. The month long challenge is to "Make it Sparkle". Fabulous goodies can be found on the wobbly shelves at Joanna's online shop

It's also time for our next challenge over at the Christmas Card Club, it was Sue's turn to choose the theme this time and she's asked us to "Get your skates on ...it'll soon be Christmas!".  Here is my card made to cover both:

Using a gorgeous snowy Thomas Kinkade image from Joanna Sheen printed onto artists canvas, simply matted and layered. Ribbon, brad and sentiment from my stash; snowflake die from Spellbinders. Lots of glamour dust and stickles to add some sparkle.
I really must get my CD's out more often...the cards are so quick and easy to make....it's choosing the image to use that takes forever lol!

You'll find the rest of the girls listed on my sidebar if you'd like to pop over and see their creations.

Challenges entered:
CHNC Extra - anything goes
Happy Campers - Christmas
Moving along with the Times - winter wonderland
Creative Moments - winter wonderland
Scrapper's Delight - Christmas

Woodland Delights

Good morning all.
Monday again...and only another three left for this year...EEK!! Gary leaves for New Zealand on the first Monday of next year and whilst I'm very excited for him I'm not looking forward to the day :(

Yesterday I went to the races for the company Christmas party...a first for me! We went to Kelso where the going was good and all seven races went off without mishap. Unfortunately my betting skills still need to be honed greatly and whilst I had a few seconds and thirds I won not a hapenny piece! We'd hired a members box for the afternoon and had a nice meal and a good view of the proceedings in the warm and dry....well dry on the outside, there was a fair bit of liquid flowing!!

Today's share was made for a card swap with the theme of "Woodland Delights".

I chose an image from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD and printed it on artists canvas, simply matted and layered onto cream pearlescent card, silver mirri card and added a red velvet ribbon which I think was recycled from last years crackers. The tree die was a freebie from a magazine.

Challenges entered:
Craftyhands Challenge - winter theme
Jo's Scrap Shack - winter wonderland
Scrappin' 4 Fun - anything goes
Shelly's Images - welcome winter

Autumn Lane Tryptich

Been catching up on a few challenges before I go away tomorrow and started by raiding my bit box.

The gorgeous image is from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD which I had left over from another project. I've delved deep into the bit box too and used some deep burgundy pearlised card and gold textured mirri card to mat and layer. Border punch is from Martha Stewart. The card is finished with a copper ribbon and some glittered leaves.

Challenges entered:
Deep Ocean Challenge - fall colours
Paper and Such Design - autumn colours
Fab n Funky - fall colours
Delightful Challenges - colours of fall
DYSU - use your scraps
Rainbow Lady - falling leaves
CD Sunday - around the world (New England in the fall)

Christmas Triptych Easel

We had a wet miserable morning today and a dull damp afternoon, typical when I had to go out and was getting my hair done. Never mind I got an afternoon in the craft room while hubby went to Edinburgh to get me a card and pressie for our anniversary tomorrow (Saturday) - which reminds me I need an insert put in my card to him.
I made this tonight:

The Thomas Kinkade image was printed onto acetate and was given to me in a Sheenie Angel envelope. I mounted the image onto white glitter card using staples then divided it into three pieces which were mounted onto scraps of white pearlescent card. I then used the grand nestie die to position and stick the three pieces onto blue stardream card and then die cut through everything (with a struggle lol). I made a base easel card using the same nestie die. I've used a ribbon bow for a stop topped with a white poinsettia and added a peel off sentiment.

Challenges entered:
Crafty Creations - anything but square
Crafty Catz - ribbons
Rainbow Lady - acetate and Christmas theme
Cute Thursday - at the office
Bunny Zoes - easel card
Christmas Card Challenges - theme optional
Ribbon Carousel - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by today, I love to read your comments.

Triptych

Something new to me - I've admired these triptych cards for a while but never attempted to make one before, I'm very pleased with how this one turned out even given the faux pax!
Made this yesterday after seeing Jo's card earlier this week as I needed a card for my sister in laws partner. I used Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD and found this beautiful image Autumn Lane which I printed onto ice blue decoupage paper then cut into three equal pieces. Each piece was mounted onto black stardream, then gold mirri card before being mounted onto a piece of copper mirri card which had been punched along the bottom edge with a Martha Stewart border punch. My new copper coloured ribbon was added before everything was mounted onto the black base card. I finished the card off with a sentiment and sewed a brass button to the bow.

Now can you spot the deliberate mistake lol...........yes silly me stuck the bits in the wrong order ( the middle should be on the left hand side).............don't suppose the recipient will ever know though and it doesn't detract from the impact of the image.

It was very difficult to get a photo which did justice to the gorgeous colours of the image - the finished card was one of those you don't really want to give away!

Challenges entered:

Cards for Men - G is for golden hues
Ribbon Carousel - anything goes
Polka Doodles - autumn leaves
Saturday  Challenge - colours of autumn
Crafts and Me - buttons and bows
Heidis Hobby Stuggu - fall colours
Craft us Crazy - autumn colours

50th Birthday

Hubby is 50 this month and this is his card - nothing overly fancy as it's a waste of time and energy lol. I've choosen this image from Joanna Sheens Thomas Kinkade CD as this would be his home of choice if one were available at a price we could afford!! Image is mounted on red card then onto silver textured mirri which has been punched with a deep heart border punch. The main card is onyx stardream. Card is finished with some bows, bling and a peel off. The sentiment was put onto the image in Publisher and has been highlighted with a Sakura pen.
Challenges I'm entering:
Kaboodle Doodle - embellishments beginning with B
MPICC - numbers
Anything Goes - home sweet home

Nautical

Hi everyone, hope you all enjoyed good weather today - hopefully it is going to last for a few days as our kids broke up for Easter today.  I've been away most of the day but managed to make 3 quick cards tonight.
I love these seascapes from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD which suit the Nautical theme at My Time to Craft perfectly.
A very simple card using Stardream card and papers and finished with a ribbon.

Rainbow Lady's Tie a Yellow Ribbon

I had this image printed ready to make a birthday card for my FIL's partner, after seeing Rainbow Lady's challenge this morning I thought it would be an ideal opportunity to showcase it:
Using Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kinkade CD the image is printed on ice blue decoupage paper and matted onto ivory stardream and gold mirri card. The matching backing paper is printed on pearlescent paper and matted onto gold mirri card. Card is finished with a yellow ribbon, an organza butterfly, sentiment and some peeloff corners.
