Christmas Card Club "Anything Goes"

Good morning all.

My baby is 18 years old today...I can't believe they're all grown up now! Some of the family are coming around for lunch so I'd best get my skates on and get organised. If I don't see you all later I'll catch up tomorrow.

Our final challenge for the year at the Christmas Card Club...EEEK! Zoe has given us an "Anything Goes" to end the year.

I needed a card for a swap with the theme of "Wreathed in Smiles" and when I came across this decoupage sheet from Joanna Sheen I thought it fitted the bill perfectly. I decided to make a stepper card using my die from Cheery Lynn Designs. Fancy rectangular die from Spellbinders, embossing folders from Cuttlebug and gems from my stash.

You'll find the links for the other girls on my side bar if you'd like to see what they've made. Many thanks to all the girls for the great themes they've provided and their friendship throughout the year....here's to getting our 2016 Christmas cards made in a timely fashion too!

Challenges entered:

CHNC -anything Christmas goes

Get Well Soon

What a day it's been! I painstakingly cut out two decoupage sheets last night and left them on my laptop cushion overnight to find hubby had got up during the night and "moved" the cushion and tipped the bits everywhere - grrr why are men so thoughtless! Anyway set to this afternoon to make a get well card with one of said decoupages and just couldn't get the base layer matted and layered satisfactorily and ended up giving up and using a diecut decoupage instead.

In the midst of all this the doorbell rang and lo and behold it was Talk Talk making their fourth visit in 12 months to sign us up for telephone and broadband - not that they introduce themselves of course  but I knew the minute the young lad (being polite here) opened his mouth. I quickly interrupted him and told him I wasn't interested and he insisted on carrying on until I eventually shut the door in his face, he and his colleague left with him shouting some expletives behind himself!! Talk Talk job adverts must go something like:

Teen wanted, attitude essential, must know everything and have the ability to answer back.

Anyway then set to making my get well card and tried a new Cheery Lynn doily die which took 3 attempts to get a cut I was happy with, why do we have days like this - knew I should've stayed in bed this morning!! This is for my hubby's Aunt who had a brain aneurysm and emergency surgery on Friday night - she was very lucky as she lives alone but realised something was wrong and managed to dial 999.

Flashback

Moving along with the Times want to see an old project that you are proud of this week. I have chosen this card:

It was made for a Colour Create Challenge at Crafty Ribbons. I loved the peach starry ribbon and knew I had to make a Christmas card with it. The image is a freebie from Inger Harding and it has been coloured with promarkers, the frame is another freebie digi from Sans Designs and again has been coloured with promarkers. the image has been matted onto a Cheery Lyn Designs die, a Marianne Design mat and copper mirri card. Card is finished with ribbon, pearls and snowflakes.
I love how the card turned out and think the soft peach colours work really well for a change at Christmas.

Christmas Challenge (with sketches) #7

Where are the weeks going to this year - our kids return to school today and it only seems five minutes since they broke up!! Any way it's time for another challenge over at CCWS and this time it was Janneke's turn to make the sketch and we're being sponsored by Crealies. Here is my card:

Using this gorgeous image from Just Inklined which I've coloured with promarkers then used up some leftover mix of white flowersoft and glitter to highlight the snow. The backing papers are from my bit box and I think they're from Joanna Sheen's Pam West CD. Lacy doiley is a Cheery Lyn die again found in my bit box. Finished with some raffia ribbon, sentiment and some pearls.

Do pop over to CCWS to see the sketch for yourself and find out how the rest of the Design Team have interpreted it. I do hope you can join us this challenge and get those Christmas cards made early.

Challenges entered:
Fab's big Christmas - use a CD or kit
Saturday Challenge - Christmas is coming
Clear it Out - glitter it

Christmas Challenge (with sketches) #5

I can't believe we're up to our fifth challenge at CCWS - we're so pleased to see so many of you joining us each challenge and those Christmas boxes must be starting to fill up now! We are being sponsored by Krea Teja. This time it was my turn to design the sketch and this is my card:

The image is another newly downloaded from Inger Harding (if you haven't done so already do go and check out her blog) which I've coloured with promarkers. The backing papers are from an old download called Christmas from around the World. Gold doiley is a die from Cheery Lynn Design, embossed corners are from Spellbinders and the die cut strip is from a Martha Stewart punch. Card is finished with a ribbon and gold berries rescued from a cracker, a sentiment, some pearls and glitter highlights on the stars.

Please pop over to CCWS to see the sketch and the delightful creations that my fellow design team girls have produced.

Sum Bunny Loves Ya

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good day. This is my card for The Sugar Bowl challenge of Purple and Green with a sketch to follow - this is the challenge I was getting mixed up with the other day with my ribbon weaving card and it's taken me days to get my head around doing it again!!

The image is a stamp from Sugar Nellie and I've had one heck of a job colouring it in.....I think this is my fourth attempt.......and I finally decided it was to be a white Easter Bunny! I've used promarkers for colouring in. Backing paper is from HOTP and I've used nesties and a Cheery Lynn Design doiley for matting and layering the image. Card is finished with some funky fibres and a couple of buttons tied with thread.
I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
Kaboodle Doodles - Cute and Cuddly Animals
Simon Says Stamp - For a Child
Paper Play Challenges - Critters Galore

Ribbon Weaving

I have spent most of the day making this card! I remembered why I had bought all the ribbons I found the other night - for ribbon weaving - and got to wondering how it would look on a card! This is the result:
I started making a 6x6 card but couldn't pull it all together so pulled it apart and made an 8x8 instead. Then I didn't like the image I'd used so did another one and just as I got it finished I realised I had been mixing two challenges up and was using the wrong brand of stamp altogether!!!!..............must be an age thing lol Anyway I finally got the right stamp coloured in and the card completed in time for bed!
The LOTV challenge is peach and green..........one of my favourite colour combinations :) The stamp is coloured with promarkers (I'd had plenty of practise by this time lol). The doiley is from Cheery Lynn Designs (if anyone has a sandwich for the wizard or grand calibur for these dies I'd be grateful - I only managed to diecut the outside scallops today), flowers are from Prima. Card is finished with some pearls and the little swirls were from the die which originally came with my Wizard and has hardly been used.
May try the ribbon weaving again with a Tilda stamp as I just received another one of the Butterfly Dreams collection today and a very kind Sheenie is sending me two she no longer uses..........so I've gone from one to six in 10 days.......oops how did that happen!!

As always, thanks for looking and commenting.
