Christmas Exploding Box #2 - Laura Gilhuly

 Hi everyone!
I am back to share my next Christmas exploding box I created!

2Crafty Products used:

For the outside of the box I layered some die squares & circles with the chipboard presents and some fussy cut Christmas images.

I always prep my chipboard with gesso then set about to alter them.  For the presents I painted them green then added some red glitter!  I love shiny things at Christmas!

The inside flaps I layered the painted and glitter chipboard - Foliage Set 3 and Crystal Snowflakes with some handmade poinsettias

I painted the Blitzen chipboard, added white glitter and a touch of gold around his antlers and nestled him with a few more poinsettias

And for the box lid I layered the Christmas strands enhanced with more glitter with another larger poinsettia

Family by Tania Ridgwell

Hi there!
Tania joining you today to share the first of my DT projects for December.
 I have created a layout.

"Family"

2 Crafty Chipboard Used:

*11" Circle Revolution Frames
*2024's
*Family - Loopy Font

I have used the beautiful Paper Rose 'Beautiful Savannah - Fauna' Collection to create the base for my Layout.

I coloured the Family & 2024 chippie pieces with Heidi Swapp Chartreuse Color Shine Spray and I kept the Circle Revolution Frame chippies raw.

Once I had added my photo to the centre of my page, I added lots of fussy cut elements from the paper collection and used them to embellish around my photo. I cut the smallest Circle Revolution Frame in half and tucked a half under the top and a one half under the bottom of my photo.  I added lots of beautiful paper blooms and to finish my page added the family title to the bottom left of the my photo and the 2024 to the top right of my page.

Thats' all from me today, I hope I have inspired you all with my Layout.  Until next time thanks so much for stopping by.

Christmas Wishes
Robin Schelin

 Hi Everyone, welcome to December!

My first project of the month features a traditional layout with beautiful Poinsettias. My favorite Christmas flowers. There's snow on the ground here in Denver, and it's magical!
To me, it just wouldn't be Christmas without it!

Christmas Wishes

2Crafty Chipboard used;

Fernlike Snowflakes

Christmas Beauty

Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses

Festive Holly Branch

As always, a good coat of Gesso before altering!

I used the beautiful Fernlike Snowflakes to surround the photo. Here on the left, tucked in under the flowers at the top and bottom. I altered them first with a coating of Adirondack White Chalk Paint. Then while still wet, I sprinkled them with "Swan" Martha Stewart Flocking Powder.

Up top on the right I added another Fernlike Snowflake altered the same way.

Then I added even another Fernlike Snowflake under the sentiment. Under that, I placed a couple snowflakes cut from the Festive Holly Branch. It's hard to see the detail of the flocking on the snowflakes, but it really is soft and fuzzy.

I cut apart 2 different titles for my title on this layout. I used 'Christmas' from Christmas Beauty and 'Wishes' from Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses.

The reason it ended up like this is because I got a little heavy handed when altering Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses. That was the title I had planned to use. When altering it, it got torn up. That can happen sometimes if you're not careful with these delicate titles. But I did manage to salvage the word 'Wishes' so I improvised.  So, as they say, make lemonade!!

Hope you like this layout. I love creating Christmas themed projects! I'll be back in a few weeks with another Christmas layout hopefully to inspire you.

xx

All Around the Tree
By Charmane Sharp

T'is the Season to create Christmas layouts to share our special memories.
Christmas photo in front of the tree with our girls warms my heart.

2Crafty Chipboard used…

Frame Doodled
Corner Jacqui’s Flourish
Funky Outline Christmas Trees
Title- All Around the Tree

After the usual coat of Gesso I rubbed White Gold over the Corner
Jacqui's Flourish pieces and then added some White wax to highlight.
These add some gorgeous whimsical swirls to the layout.

To coordinate with the Flourishes I used the Frame Doodled under my
photo with the same wax finish. Adds some glamour and detail around
my family photo.

A simple coat of White paint on the title allows it to stand out from the
Funky outline Christmas Trees below. Vintage Gold Wax and Brushed
Iron on the base blends the trees beautifully on the layout.

I hope you can see how easily the chipboard is brought to life by rubbing
on some wax. If you are too heavy handed then let it dry and use a craft
knife to scrap off any excess.

Until next time...

'Christmas Moments to Remember'
with Lisa Amiet

 Hello 2Crafty fans!
It's Lisa popping onto the blog today
to share some Christmas inspiration with you.

2Crafty products used:

'Pine Needle Wreath'
'Linear Snowflakes'
'Fine Snowflakes'
'Christmas Moments to Remember'

For this layout I used an assortment of Christmas pieces,
 including the 'Pine Needle Wreath'
that I finished in a muted green colour.

I also used one of the 'Fine Snowflakes',
which I embossed in gold, and tucked under my photo.

How cute is that wreath!
I then used some of the 'Linear Snowflakes',
also embossed gold, adhered around my title.

To finish, I used the 'Christmas Moments to Remember' title,
which I coloured in the same green as the wreath.

I am really happy with how this layout turned out.
I hope that you like it too.

Until next time!

Lisa

"JOLLY"
Layout by Marie Sabatier

Hello everyone,

I present to you my first inspiration for this month of December.
A Christmas-themed layout embellished with superb chipboards, including this magnificent Christmas tree so well made. With photos of my grandchildren from last Christmas in the middle of unboxing gifts.

"JOLLY"

Initially, not knowing which color to choose to decorate the chipboards, I applied a first layer of white gesso.
Finally, I decided to use black because it matched better the background paper decoration.
I had some fears that the result would be too dark, but after trying, I liked the result.
For this, I used the Distress Oxide ink "black soot". I pressed the words while I opted for a lighter application on the branches.

On the chipboard "curly-christmas-light-borders" I use the bulbs to add enamel dots.
I love the movement of this border of light.

I add "bush-nut-floral-clusters" to complete the cluster of embellishments.
To decorate them, I used a stamp adorned with round patterns in order not to completely cover them.

I hope you liked this layout.

Your visit is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

“My Beautiful Girl”
Layout By Di Garling

Hello there, Di Garling here with you today with
another layout to hopefully inspire you & naturally I
have used some wonderful pieces of 2Crafty Chipboard.

2Crafty Chipboard Used….
Framed Chain Frames
4” Mandala No.3
Mini Flourish Bits
My Beautiful Girl - Title

To start with I have painted both this sweet little title,
“My Beautiful Girl” as well as one of the “Frame Chains” in a
couple of coats of white acrylic paint as I wanted them to really
“pop” on the page.

Next up I set to work of both the “4” Mandala” and also a few pieces
of the “Mini Flourish Bits”. Firstly I base coated them in a coat of white
acrylic paint, dried them off & then I made up a paint wash with water and a dab of
brown paint, mixed it up and then very roughly brushed it over the pieces.

This "4"Mandala #3" is such a lovely chipboard piece and works so well
tucked in with all the layers on my page.

In this photo above you can see here one of those gorgeous
a little “Mini Flourish Bits” tucked into my flower cluster.

Well that’s all I have you today,
Hope you liked it.

Until next time….
